Bespoke kitchens in Nash
We make kitchens for homes in Nash and across London. It starts with a design visit to measure and discuss the layout, then a quote in writing. Once agreed, the kitchen is made in our workshop and fitted in your home. How long the fitting takes depends on the size of the kitchen and the design, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. We make kitchens from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish, and people most often get in touch about extra cupboard space and a kitchen finished in your colours.
With interwar houses or semis a big part of the picture around Nash, kitchens often have a back door to the garden and a window over the sink. Cabinets, a larder and a dresser can be made to suit the layout. Your chosen worktop, sink and appliances are fitted into the design, with plumbing and electrics left to your plumber and electrician.
You get the quote in writing, so you can read it at your own pace and talk it over at home. It covers the design, materials and finish agreed at the visit.

Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
Cost matters, and it’s fair to say so: flat-pack is usually cheaper to buy. Bespoke earns its place where the room is awkward, space is tight or you want the furniture to look part of the house.
Shop-bought shelves can sag over a long span. Span, depth and the weight on it decide whether a shelf sags, so a long run needs a thicker shelf, a stiffening lip or a support. That’s something we plan for in the design.
Why people ask for bespoke kitchens in Nash
Often the call comes after building work has opened up the space. A new room needs a kitchen planned for its shape and light. The building work itself is for your builder.
A few of the things people ask us to solve are these:
- A kitchen planned around your appliances
- Spray-painted or hand-painted cabinets
- A dresser that suits a period house
- Cabinets for a narrow kitchen
If you live near Coney Hall Recreation Ground, a cupboard by the back door for boots and coats can be built in with the kitchen.
What to check before you book
- Is it spray painted or hand painted?
- Which materials they’ll use, named in the quote
- Will the doors close with even gaps?
- Whether you will get a written quote, not just a figure
Your questions about bespoke kitchens in Nash
Does a conservation area in or near Nash affect fitted furniture?
Typically not: conservation area rules mainly cover the outside of buildings, and fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. If your home is listed, works inside that affect its character may need listed building consent, so check with the council first. The council’s planning or conservation team can tell you if in doubt.
Do you cover homes near Hayes (Kent) station?
Yes, homes across Bromley and the rest of London are within the area we cover. You can get in touch through our contact form to arrange a design visit.
How do you get large furniture into a flat?
The furniture is built in sections. That is why we measure the stairs, lift and doorways at the measuring visit.
Can you fit furniture on an external wall?
It needs a little planning: leaving ventilation behind and inside helps stop condensation. We do not treat damp, so any damp should be sorted before fitting day.
Can the fitting be on a Saturday?
Yes, Saturdays are possible by prior arrangement. Just mention it when you get in touch.
How long will the kitchen take to fit?
Every kitchen is different. How long the fitting takes depends on how many units there are and how the room is laid out, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote, so you can plan your other trades around it.
Bespoke kitchens in Nash: local notes
Homes built between 1919 and 1939 make up about 69% of the housing in the streets around Nash, with about 12% built between 1945 and 1972, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). It is a good starting point, though every room is still measured, as two homes of the same age rarely match. Near the centre of Nash, Historic England’s list includes Priors Farmhouse (Grade II), under half a mile north-east. If you live in a listed building, fixing into or taking out original features like panelling can need listed building consent. An early word with the council’s conservation officer is the best first step. Red routes are run by TfL, with tight limits on where and when vehicles can stop. If your home is on or just off a main road, it helps to mention it. It lets us plan the stop before fitting day.
Living in a block of flats near Hayes (Kent) station? Then each piece is planned so it can be carried up and joined together in the room. If your children go to Wickham Common Primary School or a school nearby, planning a kitchen around family routines, with a place for school things, pays off.

Made for the room, or bought in a box?
Ready-made cabinets often have chipboard carcasses. We use moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, painted in colours you choose, finished to suit the room. Off-the-shelf furniture comes in a few set depths, so they can stick out too far or waste space behind. Fitted furniture is made to the depth the space can take.
Every room is priced on its own, because the size, the layout and the finish all vary. A spray finish and a hand-painted finish involve different work, and that shows in the price. The figure comes in your written quote after the design visit.

Caring for painted furniture
Most of what helps is simple. Here’s what we suggest:
- Wipe up spills promptly
- List what needs a home in the kitchen
- Make sure an island will not crowd the room
- Know your appliance sizes early
New paintwork takes a while to harden after fitting. Treat the doors and drawer fronts gently at first, and wipe them with a soft, damp cloth. In time, mild soapy water and a soft cloth keep them clean.
It helps to know which appliances you want early. We size the spaces around them, and changing them later can mean changing the units.
How fitting works for bespoke kitchens
Finishing comes last. With a spray finish from the workshop, there is typically only filling and touching up to do in the room; hand painting, if that’s what you chose, can be done in place once everything is fitted. Either way, the finish is the one set out in your quote. Clearing the room and the way in beforehand helps the day run well. On the day, we cover the floors first, then bring the sections in. Each piece is levelled, scribed where the wall wanders and fixed to suit the wall.
- You let us know about the room and how you use it.
- We visit to measure and go through the design and storage.
- A quote follows, covering the design and finish.
- The cabinets, doors and drawer fronts are made at our workshop.
- We fit the cabinets in your home; plumbing, gas and electrics are done by your plumber, an engineer on the Gas Safe Register and your electrician. We don’t arrange these trades ourselves.
Preparing the room
- Take anything hanging off the wall we’re fitting to
- Let us know where the boiler and meters are
- Mention any parking restrictions on your street
Getting a quote
Getting a quote starts with a few details: which room it is, rough sizes and a couple of pictures if you can take them. To send them, drop us a line using the contact form. After that, we arrange a visit to measure and talk through the design, then send a quote in writing.
