Fitted cupboards designed for your room
Fitting day, step by step
Fitting day follows a set order: we protect the floors, bring the sections in, set them level, scribe them to the walls, fix them and finish them. Then the room is tidied and we look over the work with you. How long fitting takes depends on how many cupboards there are and where they go, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Loft stairs in an interwar house can be tight, with a low ceiling at the top, so any section going up there is sized for them. Elsewhere in the house, the route is usually more generous. Each section is assembled and fixed in the room.
- First, you tell us about the space and what you need to store. It might be a hallway, a landing, a utility or a boot room.
- At the design visit we measure up and talk through doors, shelves and rails. For a boiler cupboard, we plan for the clearances and ventilation in the manufacturer’s instructions.
- A written quote follows, covering the design, materials and finish.
- We make the carcasses, doors and shelves in our workshop.
- The cupboards are fitted in your home and trimmed to follow the walls.
Before we arrive
- Let us know if your street is in a controlled parking zone
- Have your electrician move any sockets or switches beforehand
- Leave a clear route from the front door to the room
Arranging a design visit
There’s no price list: each design is priced in writing after we’ve seen the space. Because every room is different, the quote comes after the design visit, when we’ve measured up and talked through the design. For a quote, use our contact form.

Fitted cupboards in Enfield Highway
Gas meters, electricity meters and fuse boards tend to be where you’d least like them, under the stairs, in a hallway or beside the front door. A fitted cupboard can hide them neatly, while keeping them easy to reach. Engineers and meter readers will need access, so we design doors or removable panels that make that easy. If you’re living with a boiler cupboard that keeps access clear and cupboards that sit well with skirting and coving, fitted cupboards made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted can solve it.
In an area where interwar homes or semis make up much of the housing, as around Enfield Highway, loft conversions are common, and they leave low eaves and sloping ceilings. Fitted storage can make use of the eaves, the bay or the hall. For lofts, we work in spaces that are already converted or boarded.
Where other trades are needed, for example an electrician to move a socket, we point that out. Our quote covers the carpentry: the design, the materials and the finish.

Honest limits
Before you plan the job, it helps to know what we do not do:
- Connecting appliances to water or waste
- Making good walls after other work
- Work on a boiler, which is for an engineer on the Gas Safe Register
If you are not sure what’s possible in your room, you can fill in our short enquiry form and we’ll give you a straight answer before you arrange a visit. Our process from visit to fitting.

Made for the room, or bought in a box?
Off-the-shelf cupboards are quicker to get and normally cost less, and in a square room they can work well. Where walls lean and floors slope, they rarely sit flush. A fitted cupboard costs more but follows the room. Ready-made units come in standard depths that rarely suit every space, so they can stick out too far or waste space behind. Fitted furniture is made to the depth the space can take.
Rooms that aren’t square take more work: walls that lean, floors that slope and sloping ceilings all mean more scribing and cutting. That is reflected in the quote.
Why us?
- Workshop-made and fitted by us
- A spray or hand-painted finish
- Built from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood
- Designed for the room you have

Fitted cupboards for homes in Enfield Highway
Homes built between 1919 and 1939 make up about 55% of the housing in the streets around Enfield Highway, with about 16% built between 1945 and 1972, in the VOA’s 2025 council tax stock figures. For carpentry, the era of a house is a useful clue to how square its rooms are and what its walls are made of. There are 7 entries on the National Heritage List within half a mile of the centre of Enfield Highway. Being near listed buildings doesn’t make a home listed, and you can check any address on Historic England’s list. The ULEZ, run by TfL, takes in all of London, so Enfield is inside it. Vans bringing furniture to Enfield Highway fall under it, just as they do across the rest of London. We go through parking and access at the design visit.
If your home is as old as some of the listed buildings nearby, like Wright's Almshouses, original features like shutters, panelling and fireplaces are worth designing around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features. Forty Hall, about 1.3 miles north-west, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. If your own home is a period one, a landing recess can take a linen cupboard built to its exact size. If you live in a period home close to St James' Church, hallway recesses and alcoves are where fitted cupboards earn their keep.
Enfield Highway is within the London Borough of Enfield, about 3 miles south of Edmonton. We can visit homes in Enfield Highway on weekdays, or on a Saturday by arrangement. We cover places right across Enfield, large and small.
Design visits and fitting in EN3 and EN1 work the same way as everywhere else we cover. You’ll find streets here such as Hoe Lane, Old Road and East Road, and we cover homes on all of them for fitted cupboards. We also cover the places around Enfield Highway: Brimsdown (1 mile east), Enfield Lock (1 mile north-east) and Forty Hill (1 mile west). Local landmarks in Enfield Highway

Materials and finishes
Moisture-resistant MDF
For painted doors and panels, moisture-resistant MDF is our usual choice, as it stays stable and finishes evenly.
Shelves
Some shelves can be set to move if your needs change.
Flats, conversions and leaseholders
For a rented home, access for the design visit and fitting day has to be agreed with the tenants, at times that suit them. An agent can arrange access for you, and the written quote can go to whoever needs it.
In conversions and newer blocks, many internal walls are timber or metal stud with plasterboard. We choose fixings to suit the wall.
Questions from Enfield Highway
Can you make fitted cupboards for a home in Enfield Highway?
Yes. We cover all of Enfield and the rest of London, and Enfield Highway is part of that. We start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need, followed by a quote.
Will a conservation area stop me having fitted cupboards fitted in Enfield Highway?
Not normally. Conservation area controls are mainly about the outside of buildings, so fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. If your home is listed, works inside that affect its character can require listed building consent, so check with the council first. The council’s planning or conservation team can tell you if in doubt.
How much does a fitted cupboard cost?
Prices are quoted for your room, once we’ve measured and talked through the design. Size, fittings and finish all affect the price. For a design visit, tell us about the room on our contact form.
What happens when you come to measure?
We take full measurements, look at the walls and floors and work through the design together. Access and parking are worth talking about too.
How long will the cupboards take to fit?
The time the fitting takes depends on the size of the cupboards and the room, and your quote sets out the fitting days. We will talk it through during the design visit.
Do you work on Saturdays?
Yes, by prior arrangement. If a Saturday works better for you, say so when you get in touch.
