Hounslow Walk-in Wardrobes
Walls in older London homes are rarely straight, so we scribe the furniture to follow them. Our work on walk-in wardrobes in Hounslow starts with a design visit, and everything is made in our workshop.
- A use for a small spare room
- Somewhere to sit and get ready
- Proper shoe storage

Walk-in wardrobes for homes in Hounslow
Our walk-in wardrobes are made for homes in Hounslow and all over London. We begin with a design visit, measuring the room and talking through the design, then a written quote. Once agreed, we make the units in our workshop and fit them in your home. The time the fitting takes depends on the size of the room and the design, and your quote sets out the fitting days, so you’ll know before we start. We make walk-in wardrobes from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted, and the usual reasons to get in touch are storage for clothes that have outgrown the wardrobe and a walk-in wardrobe in a box room.
In an area where interwar homes or semis make up much of the housing, as around Hounslow, bedrooms usually have regular walls, a window on one side and sometimes a chimney breast. That makes a full wall of fitted furniture simple to plan, laid out around what you store. If the loft has been converted, sloping ceilings bring their own options.
Our quotes are written in plain words, without jargon. You will see what will be made, the boards used and the finish, all taken from the design visit.

Flat-pack or bespoke?
What you pay for with bespoke is mainly the fit: edges scribed to the wall, a level base on a sloping floor and a neat line where the furniture meets the ceiling. Off-the-shelf furniture can’t usually do that in an older room.
Off-the-shelf cupboards come in fixed sizes, so there is often a strip of wasted space at the side or above. Furniture we make is built to the room’s own sizes, so it can use the full height and width.
How fitting works for walk-in wardrobes
When we arrive on fitting day, we start by protecting your floors and the route from the front door to the room. The sections made in our workshop come in next, a piece at a time. How long fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. If you have a driveway, it can make unloading simpler, so let us know at the measuring visit. Otherwise, a visitor permit or a nearby bay helps. Floors and doorways are protected while the pieces come in.
- First, you let us know about the space.
- The design visit covers measuring and the layout inside, planned around the way you get dressed.
- A written quote is sent to you, setting out the design, materials and finish.
- Everything is made at our workshop.
- The walk-in wardrobe is fitted in your home. Each unit is set level and scribed to the walls.
How to prepare
- Move furniture and belongings away from the wall
- Tell us about any meters, fuse boards or boilers in the area
- Make sure pets are kept safely away
Ask for a quote
Pictures help us understand the room before we visit. Pictures of the whole wall, the corners and the ceiling line tell us a lot about the space, along with rough sizes. To send them over, tell us about the room on our contact form, and we’ll suggest a time for a design visit.

Questions from Hounslow
Do you cover homes near Sunbury station?
Yes. We cover the whole of London. You can fill in our short enquiry form to arrange a design visit, and tell us about parking and access at the same time.
Can you make walk-in wardrobes for a home in Hounslow?
Yes. We cover the whole of London, all 32 boroughs and the City of London. We start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need, and then we send a quote.
What if the wall is cold or damp?
It needs a little planning: ventilation behind and inside the furniture helps avoid condensation and mould. Damp treatment is not something we do, so any damp needs sorting first.
Do walk-in wardrobes need ventilation?
Yes, it helps keep clothes fresh and damp away. The design allows air to circulate and walls should be dry before we fit.
Should I send photos?
Yes. Pictures help us understand the room before the design visit, along with rough measurements. It’s useful to show radiators, sockets and anything else on the wall.
Can you build a dressing area in my bedroom?
Yes, if there is enough space. A section of the room can become a dressing area, with doors or left open. Any new partition is for your builder, and we fit the furniture.
The problems walk-in wardrobes solve
Sharing one wardrobe between two rarely works for long. We can design separate areas for hanging, shelves and drawers, so both have room.
These come up often when people first get in touch:
- A built-in dressing table
- Shelves for shoes and bags
- A walk-in wardrobe within the bedroom
- Moving wardrobes out of the bedroom
If your home is one of the older houses near Church of St Dunstan, a bedroom chimney breast and its alcoves often shape where walk-in wardrobes go.
Questions to ask before you hire anyone
- Will other trades be needed, and who arranges them?
- Will the doors close with even gaps?
- Have they measured the stairs, lift and doorways?
- Have they thought about parking near you?
Fitted bedroom furniture in Hounslow
About 36% of the homes in the streets around Hounslow went up between 1973 and 1999, and about 31% between 1919 and 1939, going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. We take that into account during the design visit, since older and newer walls take different fixings. Around a third of the homes in the neighbourhood around Hounslow (about 31%) date from between 1919 and 1939, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). Houses from that era often have a box room over the stairs, with a raised bulkhead in the floor, which suits fitted storage made around its bulkhead. Parking controls in London are set borough by borough, so the rest of London has its own. Where a street in Hounslow is controlled, a van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension from the council. Let us know what the parking is like at the measuring visit.

Pricing walk-in wardrobes in Hounslow
There is no set price, because there’s no set room. What affects it comes down to:
- Where a van can park, such as a permit bay or a bay suspension
- What goes inside: rails, shelves, drawers and dividers
- Stairs, lifts and the route to the room
- Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
Parking is part of the price picture in London. Much of London is covered by controlled parking zones, so we may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a suspended bay near your home. It is useful to talk about parking at the design visit, so we can plan for it.
