Walk-in wardrobes for your home in Brentford
How we make walk-in wardrobes for Brentford
Good light helps you see colours and find things, and any new lights or wiring are for your electrician. We plan the units with your electrician’s work in mind, and agree the details during the design visit. If your home has a dressing table with drawers and a mirror and more space for clothes and shoes, walk-in wardrobes made from birch ply and moisture-resistant MDF, painted by hand or sprayed can solve it.
A large share of the homes around Brentford date from 2000 onwards, and newer homes rarely have enough built-in storage for a bedroom. Walk-in wardrobes can be designed around the window, the radiator and the door swing. In a managed block, the lift and delivery rules are worth checking before fitting day.
The written quote is your record of the job. It sets out the walk-in wardrobe designed for your room, what it is made from and how it’s finished.

Flats, conversions and leaseholders
For a rented home, access for the design visit and fitting day has to be agreed with the tenants. A letting agent can arrange this on a landlord’s behalf.
In conversions and newer blocks, many internal walls are timber or metal stud with plasterboard. Fixings are chosen to suit whatever the wall is made of, which we check at the design visit.
Why bespoke in Brentford?
A basic rail system is easy to change, and that has real appeal. A fitted walk-in wardrobe adds doors, drawers and shelves where you want them, in a finish that suits the house. Off-the-shelf depths can crowd a compact new-build room, while fitted furniture can be made shallower where space is tight. It still uses the full height.
What goes inside matters as much as the outside: drawers take more making than shelves, and each rail, divider or pull-out adds to the work. We’ll talk through what you need inside at the measuring visit, then set it out in the quote.

From workshop to your room
The last stage of the day is the finish. If the furniture was spray painted in the workshop, we fill the fixing holes and touch up on site; hand painting, if that is what you chose, can be done in place once everything is fitted. Either way, the finish is the one set out in your quote. On the day, floors are covered first and the sections brought in. The pieces are levelled and fixed with fixings that suit the wall. Any hand painting can be finished on site.
- You get in touch and describe the room.
- At the design visit we agree the layout and check how the units will reach the room.
- We send a quote in writing.
- In our workshop we build the units in sections from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- The units are brought in, assembled and set level.
Before we arrive
- Have your electrician move any sockets or switches beforehand
- Clear the hallway and stairs so the sections can come through
- If you live in a block, book the lift and tell the building manager
How to get a quote
If you know what you want, say so; if not, we can work it out together at the visit. The design is talked through at the visit, once we’ve measured, and the written quote that follows sets it out. To start, send us a few details through our contact form.
Advice
The problems walk-in wardrobes solve
Sharing one wardrobe between two rarely works for long. A walk-in wardrobe can be planned with a side for each, so both have room.
We’re often asked to help with:
- Setting aside a corner of a large bedroom
- A built-in dressing table
- Proper shoe storage
- Hanging for coats, dresses and shirts
For an older house near Congregational Church, a bedroom chimney breast and its alcoves often shape where walk-in wardrobes go.
Choosing a carpenter

- Whether the quote follows a visit to your home
- Can you see real work of theirs?

FAQs: walk-in wardrobes in Brentford
How do you fit walk-in wardrobes in a flat in Brentford?
We measure the route in as well as the room: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. Walk-in wardrobes are built in our workshop in sections sized to fit that route, then assembled in your flat. It’s useful to check any building rules and your lease before fitting day.
Is Brentford in the area you cover for walk-in wardrobes?
Yes, we work across Hounslow, Brentford included, and across the rest of London. You can use our contact form to arrange a design visit.
What does a walk-in wardrobe cost?
Every piece is quoted for your room after the design visit. Each walk-in wardrobe is different, so we price it after the design visit. To get started, get in touch through our contact form.
Is it better to have doors or open storage?
Either works. Doors give a tidy look and help keep dust away, while open rails and shelves let you see everything. A mix of the two is common.
How much time does fitting need?
The time the fitting takes depends on the size of the room and the design, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote.
What if the wall is cold or damp?
External walls can be colder and damper than internal ones, so we allow for ventilation behind and inside the furniture, which helps avoid condensation and mould. Any damp needs sorting by the right specialist before fitting.
Walk-in wardrobes in Brentford: local notes
Homes built since 2000 make up about 38% of the housing in the streets around Brentford, with about 23% built before 1919, going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. For carpentry, the era of a house is a useful clue to how square its rooms are and what its walls are made of. Entries on the National Heritage List near the centre of Brentford include Church of St Lawrence (Grade II*), about 0.5 miles south-west, and Aroid House Number 1 (Grade II*), about 0.6 miles south-east. If your own home is listed, changes inside that alter its character, like fixing into or removing original joinery, can need listed building consent. Check with the council’s conservation officer first. Parking controls in London are set borough by borough, so Hounslow has its own. Depending on your street in Brentford, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a council bay suspension may be needed. Parking near your home is worth mentioning during the design visit.
For families living near St Paul's CofE Primary School, the inside of walk-in wardrobes can be laid out with adjustable shelves, so the space keeps up as children grow. If you live in a flat close to Brentford station, the lift, the stair turns and the front door all set the largest piece that can come in.
