About our wall beds in Berry's Green
Our wall beds are made for homes in Berry's Green and all over London. It starts with a design visit to measure the room and check the wall, then a quote in writing. We make everything in our workshop and fit it in your home. The time the fitting takes depends on the bed, the cabinets and the wall it fixes to, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. We make wall beds from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand, and people most often get in touch about a home office that also sleeps guests and a real mattress for visitors.
Around Berry's Green, interwar houses or semi-detached and detached homes make up a good part of the housing. Many 1930s houses have a small box room over the stairs, often with a raised bulkhead in the floor. The main bedroom may have a bay at the front and a chimney breast on the side wall.
A written quote follows the design visit. It describes the design we discussed, the materials and the finish, so you know exactly what you are getting.

Fitting day, step by step
At the end, we tidy up and take up the floor coverings. Before we go, we look over the finished furniture with you. How long fitting takes depends on the bed, the cabinets and the wall it fixes to, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. In a 1930s house with a converted loft, the stairs to the loft room are often steeper than the main flight, so pieces for a loft room are sized for the narrowest point. Elsewhere in the house, the route is typically more generous. The pieces are joined and fixed once in place.
- You let us know about the room.
- We come to measure and discuss the bed, the storage and the finish.
- A quote in writing follows.
- We build the cabinets in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- The wall bed is fitted, and any hand painting is done on site.
How to prepare
- Clear the area where the furniture is going
- Take anything hanging off the wall we’re fitting to
- Let us know if your street is in a controlled parking zone
Getting a quote
A quote begins with some details from you: the room, rough measurements and some pictures if you have them. When you are ready, message us from the contact page. After that, we arrange a visit to measure and talk through the design, then send a written quote.

Questions from Berry's Green
Is parking a problem for fitting in Berry's Green?
It can be, depending on whether your street is in a controlled parking zone. A van may need a visitor permit, a pay-and-display bay or a suspended bay, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the design visit.
Can you make wall beds for a home in Berry's Green?
Yes, Berry's Green is within the area we cover, which takes in all of Bromley and the rest of London. We start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need, and then we send a quote.
Will you provide a mattress for the bed?
What matters most is that the mattress suits the mechanism. We’ll explain its limits at the measuring visit, so you can pick the right one.
How do you get the furniture up the stairs?
Getting it in is planned at the measuring visit. We measure the stairs, landings, lift and doors, and the furniture is made in sections sized to get through.
Is an outside wall a problem for fitted furniture?
An outside wall can be colder and damper than an inside one, so ventilation behind and inside the furniture helps. If there is damp, it should be sorted before anything is fitted.
What happens when you come to measure?
We measure the room, check how level the walls and floors are and talk through the design with you. Access and parking are worth talking about too, and afterwards we send a quote in writing.
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
A normal bed has nothing to fix to the wall, which is a fair point in its favour. Where the room needs to be more than a bedroom, a wall bed earns its place every day. In an extended or opened-up house, old and new walls often meet slightly out of line, which shows up against standard furniture. Fitted pieces are scribed to both.
Tricky rooms take more time: walls that lean, floors that slope and sloping ceilings all mean more scribing and cutting. The quote allows for it, written once we’ve measured up.

What prompts wall beds in Berry's Green
In a studio or a small flat, every bit of floor counts. With the bed away, the main room is a living space again until bedtime.
Here’s what wall beds can help with:
- A proper bed instead of a sofa bed
- A playroom that can sleep visitors
- A study that doubles as a spare room
- A bed that looks like cupboards by day
For an older house near Church of St Peter and St Paul, tall ceilings give wall beds room to reach the cornice.
What to check before you book
- How the furniture will be finished, and where
- Where they’ll park and unload
- Whether the route into your home has been checked
- Whether they measure the room themselves
How we price wall beds
The price for your room depends on:
- Where a van can park, such as a permit bay or a bay suspension
- How big the furniture is
- Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside
- The finish: spray painted or hand painted
There is no price list, because every piece is designed for one room. Instead, we measure, discuss the design and then quote in writing, naming the materials and finish. To arrange a design visit, use our contact form.
Getting in touch
There is no need for exact sizes or plans. It’s enough to send:
- Pictures of styles you like, if you have any
- Rough sizes: width, height and depth
- What kind of home it is, and which floor the room is on
- Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
To make a start, use our contact form and let us know which room you have in mind. We then arrange a design visit to measure and talk through the design, and a quote in writing follows.

Before and after fitting day
A little care keeps the finish looking good. These practical tips help:
- Check your lease if you live in a flat
- Think about how often the bed will be used
- Treat new paintwork gently at first
- Follow the mechanism maker’s mattress guidance
Should the bed start to move differently, stop and let us know. Do not try to adjust the mechanism yourself unless its maker says you can.
Consider how often the bed will be used and by whom. It shapes the bed size and the type of mechanism, and whether a desk or shelves go around it.
