Need bespoke kitchens in Staples Corner?

When is bespoke worth it?

Off-the-shelf furniture can be a sensible choice. If the walls are straight and the space suits standard sizes, it often does the job.

The real difference is in the fit: scribed edges, a level base on an uneven floor and furniture that meets the ceiling, skirting and picture rail. Off-the-shelf furniture cannot normally do that in an older room.

Bespoke kitchens for homes in Staples Corner

A kitchen needs other trades as well as a carpenter. Your plumber, a Gas Safe registered engineer and your electrician do the plumbing, gas and electrics, and we plan the cabinets around where their work goes. We make kitchens from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand, and the usual reasons to get in touch are a painted dresser for the kitchen and cabinets for a narrow kitchen.

Islands only work where there is room to walk round them. Around Staples Corner, a big part of the housing is interwar, semi-detached or detached, and in an extended kitchen there may be space. We check the clearances at the measuring visit, along with where water and power would need to reach. Your plumber and electrician run any services to it.

You get the quote in writing, so you can read it at your own pace and share it with anyone else involved. It covers the design, materials and finish agreed at the visit.

Common questions about bespoke kitchens

Do you make bespoke kitchens for homes in Staples Corner?

Yes, Staples Corner is within the area we cover, which takes in all of Barnet and the rest of London. We start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need, followed by a quote.

Can you fit furniture in a home close to Brent Cross West station?

Yes. We cover all of Barnet and the rest of London. You can fill in our short enquiry form to arrange a design visit, and tell us about parking and access at the same time.

Do I need permission in a conservation area?

Not normally. Conservation area controls are mainly about the outside of buildings, and fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. In a listed building, check with the council’s conservation officer before any work.

What are the kitchen cabinets made of?

Our kitchens are made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, then spray painted or hand painted. The materials and finish are agreed in your quote.

What does a bespoke kitchen cost?

Prices are quoted for your room, once we’ve measured and talked through the design. The size of the room, the number of units and the finish all make a difference. For a design visit, tell us about the room on our contact form.

Do you work on Saturdays?

Yes, we can arrange Saturdays. Let us know when you first get in touch.

How we price bespoke kitchens

When we put a quote together, we consider:

  • Spray painting or hand painting
  • Parking and unloading on your street
  • How easy it is to get the furniture into the room
  • The overall size of the piece

Access to the room makes a difference too. Narrow halls, tight stairs or a small lift may mean the furniture is made in more sections, which the quote allows for. We quote each job for the room it’s going into, after the design visit.

What to send when you contact us

These details help when you get in touch:

  • Approximate measurements of the space
  • What you’d like to store or use the space for
  • Radiators, sockets, pipes or meters on or near the wall
  • Pictures of styles you like, if you have any

Every quote follows a design visit. We measure the space, check the walls and floors and discuss what you’d like, and the written quote comes after. There’s no price list: each design is priced in writing after we’ve seen the space. To book a design visit, tell us about the room on our contact form.

About 38% of the homes in the streets around Staples Corner went up between 1919 and 1939, and about 19% between 1973 and 1999, based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. Where a home is listed, listed building consent can be needed for inside works that affect its character, such as fixing into original panelling. If you live on or close to a main road in Staples Corner, let us know during the design visit. We will plan where the van can stop.

Close to Clarefield Park? A cupboard by the back door for boots and coats can be built in with the kitchen. For a family home near Parkfield Primary School, a tall cupboard by the door can take school bags and coats as part of the kitchen. Living in a block of flats near Brent Cross West station? Then check any building rules on lifts and working hours early, and the sections will be sized for the way in.

How fitting day works

Period rooms often have skirting boards, picture rails, cornices or coving for the furniture to meet. We cut and scribe the furniture around them on site, so it sits neatly against the room. The time the fitting takes depends on the size of the kitchen and the design, and your quote sets out the fitting days. It helps to clear the room and the route before we arrive. On the day, we cover the floors first, then bring the sections in. The pieces are levelled, fitted to the walls and fixed back.

  1. To begin, drop us a line using the contact form; a brief note on the room and the kitchen you have in mind is plenty.
  2. At the design visit we measure up and plan the cabinets around the worktop, sink and appliances you choose.
  3. You receive a written quote for the kitchen cabinets.
  4. The cabinets are made in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
  5. We fit the cabinets in your home, working around your plumber, your electrician and a Gas Safe engineer.

How to prepare

  • Have your electrician move any sockets or switches beforehand
  • Tell us about any meters, fuse boards or boilers in the area
  • Move furniture and belongings away from the wall
