Bespoke kitchens in Wallington, Sutton

In Wallington, we design bespoke kitchens around the room you actually have. We design your kitchen at a visit to your home, make it in our workshop and fit it.

  • An island where space allows
  • A kitchen for a room that isn’t square
  • A kitchen planned around your appliances

Looking after your furniture

Fresh paintwork takes a while to cure fully, so go gently with it for a while. After that, a few simple habits help:

  • Deal with damp walls first
  • Check stairs, hallways and lifts for access
  • Make a note of what you use every day
  • Treat new paintwork gently at first

Follow the appliance makers’ guidance for your oven, hob and dishwasher, and the care advice for your worktop.

Talk to your plumber, electrician and a Gas Safe engineer early. The pipes, cables and gas supply need to suit the layout, so it helps if everyone knows the plan.

Bespoke kitchens for homes in Wallington

Our bespoke kitchens are fitted in Wallington and all over London. We begin with a design visit, measuring the room and planning the layout, followed by a quote. The cabinets are made in our workshop and fitted in your home. How long fitting takes depends on the size of the kitchen and the design, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. Most enquiries start with extra cupboard space and making the most of a galley kitchen; the furniture is made from birch plywood and moisture-resistant MDF with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish.

Moving a sink or cooker means moving pipes and cables, which is a job for other trades. Whatever kind of home you have in Wallington, we plan the layout with that in mind. Any changes to plumbing, electrics or gas are for your plumber, electrician or an engineer on the Gas Safe Register.

Once you’ve read the quote and decided to go ahead, the furniture is built in our workshop. It describes the design, the materials and the finish agreed at the visit, so every detail can be checked first.

Fitting day, step by step

When we arrive on fitting day, we start by protecting your floors and the route from the front door to the room. The sections built in our workshop come in next. How long fitting takes depends on how many units there are and how the room is laid out, and your quote sets out the fitting days. London parking ranges from controlled zones to driveways and private bays, so let us know what’s near you during the design visit. For a flat, building rules on lifts and working hours are worth checking.

  1. You get in touch and describe the kitchen you want.
  2. At the design visit we plan the kitchen and talk about colours and finish.
  3. Your written quote sets out the design, the materials and the finish.
  4. The cabinets are built in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, and a spray finish is applied there for a smooth, even surface.
  5. We fit the cabinets in your home; a hand-painted finish is applied on site and is easy to touch up later.
  6. Treat new paint gently while it cures; the plumbing, gas and electrics are done by your own plumber, an engineer on the Gas Safe Register and your electrician.

Advice

What affects the price in Wallington

Each piece is designed for one room, so each price is too. The things that affect it are:

  • The overall size of the piece
  • How easy it is to get the furniture into the room
  • Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
  • The internal fittings

Every piece is quoted for your room after the design visit. The price depends mainly on the size of the piece, how many doors and drawers it has and what goes inside.

Helping us understand the room

A little information at the start saves time later. If you can, send:

  • Your postcode and the borough
  • Pictures showing the full wall, from floor to ceiling
  • Anything in the way, like radiators, sockets, switches, a boiler or meters
  • The type of home and how the room is reached

The quote is built from the design visit. We take full measurements, see how true the walls and floors are and work through the design together. A written quote follows the visit, so you can take your time with it. To book one, message us from the contact page.

Do you need bespoke kitchens in Wallington?

A painted kitchen can be refreshed later, which suits a long-term home. Hand-painted finishes are easy to touch up over the years.

Here are some of the needs we are asked about most:

  • Open shelves with cupboards below
  • Making the most of a galley kitchen
  • Room for everything in the kitchen
  • Spray-painted or hand-painted cabinets

For a flat near Wallington station, check any building rules on lifts and working hours early, and the sections will be sized for the way in.

Before you choose who makes it

  • Whether they can show you real projects they’ve done
  • Have they thought about parking near you?
  • Whether the quote follows a visit to your home
  • Whether the route into your home has been checked

Our checklist for choosing a carpenter

Kitchens in Wallington homes

The biggest shares of homes in the area around Wallington were built before 1919 (about 30%) and between 1919 and 1939 (about 29%), going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. For carpentry, the era of a house is a useful clue to how square its rooms are and what its walls are made of. Near the centre of Wallington, Historic England’s list includes Church of All Saints (Grade II*), about 0.5 miles west, and Church of the Holy Trinity (Grade II), less than half a mile west. Where a home is listed, listed building consent can be needed for inside works that affect its character, such as fixing into original panelling. It is worth speaking to the council’s conservation officer before the design is final. Since the zone was extended to the outer boroughs in August 2023, the whole of London has been inside the ULEZ. Vans bringing furniture to Wallington fall under it, just as they do across the rest of London. Access and parking are talked through during the design visit.

If you live near Carshalton Park, a cupboard by the back door for boots and coats can be built in with the kitchen. For families living near Holy Trinity CofE Junior School, a drawer set aside for lunch boxes and water bottles keeps mornings calmer.

Questions from Wallington

Can you fit furniture in a home close to Wallington station?

Yes, homes across Sutton and the rest of London are within the area we cover. You can drop us a line using the contact form to arrange a design visit, and let us know about parking and access at the same time.

Does a conservation area in or near Wallington affect fitted furniture?

Usually not: conservation area rules mainly cover the outside of buildings, and fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. Listed buildings are different, as works inside that affect their character may need listed building consent from the council. If you are unsure, the council can confirm.

What does a bespoke kitchen cost?

Your quote is written for your room once we’ve visited and measured. Size, layout and finish all affect the price. For a design visit, use our contact form.

Do photos help?

Yes, they help. Pictures of the whole wall or room, including the floor and ceiling, give us a good idea of the space, particularly with rough sizes. To send them, send us a few details through our contact form.

Do you handle the gas and electrics for the kitchen?

No, those are jobs for other trades. Plumbing, gas and electrics are for your plumber, an engineer on the Gas Safe Register and your electrician, while we make and fit the cabinets.

What happens during the design visit?

We take full measurements, look at the walls and floors and work through the design together. We’ll also ask about access and parking, and afterwards we send a written quote.

DIY, flat-pack or bespoke

What you pay for with bespoke is mainly the fit: edges scribed to the wall, a level base on a sloping floor and a neat line where the furniture meets the ceiling. Off-the-shelf furniture can’t typically do that in an older room.

Shop-bought shelves can sag over a long span. How much a shelf bends depends on its span, depth and load, and long runs need a thicker shelf, a lip along the front or a support. That’s something we plan for in the design.
