Bespoke wall beds or ready-made?
Choosing bespoke means a design visit, a quote, workshop time and fitting, rather than a quick order. What you get is one design that suits the room and the way you use it. Ready-made pieces are proportioned for newer homes and can look lost in an older one, whereas fitted pieces can pick up the room’s height and mouldings.
How it is painted is part of the price: spray painting is done in the workshop, while hand painting can be done on site. Your choice, along with the size and the fittings, is reflected in the written quote.
What you get with us
- Over 300 projects completed
- Every London borough and the City of London covered
- A spray or hand-painted finish
- Fitted tight to walls that aren’t straight

Wall beds in Bushwood Area of Leytonstone
Many people now work from home in a room that also has to sleep guests. A wall bed with a desk or shelves beside it lets the room do both, without the bed taking over. Cable routes for the desk can be planned in, though any new sockets are for your electrician. Typical reasons to get in touch are a proper bed instead of a sofa bed and more floor space in a studio flat, and the answer is made in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand.
A large share of the homes around Bushwood Area of Leytonstone were built before 1919, and bedrooms in houses of that age often have a chimney breast with an alcove either side. Fitted furniture can fill the alcoves, wrap round the chimney breast or run across a whole wall. Because older floors slope and walls bow, everything is scribed and levelled on site.
Once you’ve read the quote and decided to go ahead, the furniture is made at our workshop. The quote sets out the agreed design, materials and finish, so every detail can be checked first.

FAQs: wall beds in Bushwood Area of Leytonstone
I live near Leytonstone High Road station. Is that in your area?
Yes, homes across Waltham Forest and the rest of London are within the area we cover. You can send us a few details through our contact form to arrange a design visit, and tell us about parking and access at the same time.
How do you fit wall beds in a flat in Bushwood Area of Leytonstone?
We measure the route in along with the room itself: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. The furniture is made in sections that fit the stairs and lift, and put together in the room. If your building has rules on lift booking or working hours, or your lease needs consent for alterations, it’s worth checking those early.
Should I send pictures?
Yes, they help. A few pictures of the room, from floor to ceiling, tell us a lot, especially with rough measurements. You can send them when you message us from the contact page.
What does a wall bed cost?
We quote each job for the room it’s going into, after the design visit. A single bed cabinet and a full wall with shelves and a desk are very different jobs, so we quote once we have seen the room. To get started, fill in our short enquiry form.
How long does fitting take?
How long the fitting takes depends on the bed, the cabinets and the wall it fixes to, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. We’ll talk it through at the design visit.
Can you fit a wall bed to a stud wall?
It depends on the wall and floor. The mechanism must be fixed to a sound wall or floor, as its maker specifies, and we look at this when we measure.
How fitting day works
Period rooms often have skirting boards, picture rails, cornices or coving for the furniture to meet. We cut and scribe the furniture around them on site, so it looks as though it was always there. How long the fitting takes depends on the size of the bed and the cabinets around it, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. On fitting day in an older house, the main job is scribing to walls and levelling on floors that slope, so there’s some trimming and adjusting on site. We protect the floors and keep dust to a minimum. Parking can be tight on terraced streets, so tell us about permits and bays at the design visit.
- It starts with a short note from you.
- At the design visit we agree the layout and the colour.
- You receive a quote in writing covering the design, materials and finish.
- The cabinets are made in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood; a spray finish is applied there for a smooth, even surface.
- The wall bed is fitted, and any hand painting is done on site. New paint needs gentle use while it cures.
Before fitting day
- Arrange any electrical changes with your electrician ahead of time
- Take anything hanging off the wall we’re fitting to
- Let us know if your street is in a controlled parking zone
Arranging a design visit
Rough sizes are fine at the start. We measure everything properly at the design visit. To get started, message us from the contact page with a few details about the room. You receive a written quote after the visit.

Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
If you’re handy, a simple shelf or a standard wardrobe in a square room is a reasonable DIY job. It gets harder with sloping ceilings, out-of-level floors and lath-and-plaster walls, where scribing and fixings that suit the wall are important.
The real difference is in the fit: scribed edges, a level base on an uneven floor and furniture that meets the ceiling, skirting and picture rail. In an older room, standard units rarely manage that.
