Bespoke kitchens in Berrylands, Kingston upon Thames
Thinking about bespoke kitchens in Berrylands? It starts with a design visit to measure and talk through ideas, then a quote in writing.
- A central island in a larger kitchen
- Making the most of a galley kitchen
- A kitchen for a room that isn’t square
Bespoke kitchens for your home in Berrylands
Looking after your furniture
Fitted furniture is part of the room, so it’s worth looking after. A few pointers help:
- Mention any parking or lift rules
- Know your appliance sizes early
- Check stairs, hallways and lifts for access
- Make sure an island won’t crowd the room
The appliances you’ve chosen come with their own care instructions, and the worktop you chose will have its own care advice too.
If you live in a leasehold flat, check your lease before changing the kitchen. We can’t advise on your lease.
Bespoke kitchens in Berrylands
An island can be a good addition where there’s space for one. We check there is comfortable space on every side, because a cramped island makes a kitchen harder to work in. If the room is narrow, we’ll suggest other layouts. If your home has spray-painted or hand-painted cabinets and cabinets built around the appliances you choose, that’s what kitchens are for, made from birch ply and moisture-resistant MDF, painted by hand or sprayed.
If you live in one of the interwar houses or semis around Berrylands, walls tend to be truer than in older houses, though nothing is assumed. Each cabinet is levelled and scribed on site. Gas work is for a Gas Safe registered engineer, and the plumbing and electrics are for your plumber and electrician.
The written quote puts the design visit in writing: the layout and internal fittings, the materials and the finish. If something is not quite right, tell us before anything is made.

Common questions about bespoke kitchens
Can parking be tricky on fitting day in Berrylands?
It can be, depending on whether your street is in a controlled parking zone. A van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a parking bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. It helps to let us know about parking at the design visit.
Do you cover homes near Berrylands station?
Yes, homes across Kingston upon Thames and the rest of London are within the area we cover. You can send us a few details through our contact form to arrange a design visit, and tell us about parking and access at the same time.
Can you come on a Saturday?
Yes, by arrangement. If a Saturday works better for you, say so when you contact us.
How do you get large furniture into a flat?
The furniture is built in sections, each one sized to fit the way in. At the design visit, we measure the route as well as the room.
What happens at the design visit?
We take full measurements, look at the walls and floors and work through the design together. Access and parking are worth talking about too, and a written quote follows.
What finishes do you offer?
There are two ways to finish it: spray painted or hand painted. Spray painting gives a smooth, even finish, and hand painting is easy to touch up.
Flats, conversions and lettings
Blocks of flats often have their own rules on lift bookings, entry systems and times for trades. Let us know about them during the design visit.
For a rented home, access for the design visit and fitting day has to be agreed with the tenants, at times that suit them. An agent can arrange access for you.
How fitting day works
Finishing comes last. If the furniture was spray painted in the workshop, we fill the fixing holes and touch up on site; hand painting, if that’s what you chose, can be done in place once everything is fitted. The finish is always the one agreed in your quote. In a 1920s or 1930s house, the hall and stairs are normally simple, though we still measure the route in not just the room. The furniture comes in sections and is put together where it’s going.
- It starts with a short note from you about the room.
- We visit to plan the layout and check how the cabinets will get into the room. Let us know about parking too, as a van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension.
- A written quote follows, covering the cabinets, materials and finish.
- The cabinets are made in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, sized to come in through your doors.
- The cabinets are fitted in your home with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish; plumbing, gas and electrics are for your plumber, a Gas Safe registered engineer and your electrician.
Before fitting day
- Empty the space we will be working in
- Keep pets in another room while we work
- Clear the hallway and stairs so the sections can come through

Bespoke kitchens in Berrylands: local notes
The biggest shares of homes in the area around Berrylands were built between 1919 and 1939 (about 68%) and before 1919 (about 13%), according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). We take that into account at the measuring visit, since older and newer walls take different fixings. Entries on the National Heritage List near the centre of Berrylands include Christ Church (Grade II), about 0.5 miles south-west. If your own home is listed, works inside that affect its character, like fixing into or removing original joinery, may need listed building consent. Ask the council’s conservation officer before anything is fixed. Parking controls in London are set borough by borough, so Kingston upon Thames has its own. Depending on your street in Berrylands, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a council bay suspension may be needed. We ask about parking at the design visit, and we’ll plan around it.
The wider area includes historic houses like Hampton Court Palace, about 2.4 miles west. If your own home is a period one, tall ceilings can take larder cupboards right up to the top. If you live near Beverley Park, a cupboard by the back door for boots and coats can be built in with the kitchen. If you live in a flat close to Berrylands station, it helps to book the lift and tell the concierge before fitting day.

What it costs
There is no set price, because there is no set room. The things that affect it are:
- Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
- The internal fittings
- How big the furniture is
- How square the room is
Parking is part of the price picture in London. The boroughs run controlled parking zones across much of the city, so a van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension near your home. It helps to talk about parking at the design visit, so it can be planned.
What we need to know
The more you can tell us at the start, the better the design visit goes. It’s useful to include:
- Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
- The type of home and how the room is reached
- Examples of the look you’re after
- Where you live, with the postcode
Prices are quoted for your room, once we’ve measured and talked through the design. Because every room is different, the quote comes after the design visit. For a quote, get in touch through our contact form.
