Bespoke kitchens designed for your room
Made for the room, or bought in a box?
Ready-made units are made to fixed sizes, so most layouts end in a filler panel. Ours are made to fit the room from wall to wall. Standalone furniture leaves gaps behind and above it that gather dust, and fitted furniture closes them, which makes cleaning simpler.
Rooms that are not square take more work: walls that lean, floors that slope and sloping ceilings all mean more scribing and cutting. That is reflected in the quote, which we write after seeing the room.
Why us?
- Scribed to uneven walls
- A spray or hand-painted finish
- Made for your room, not a standard size
- Built in our workshop and fitted in your home

Bespoke kitchens in Hampton Wick: what you get
A kitchen needs other trades as well as a carpenter. Your plumber, a Gas Safe engineer and your electrician do the plumbing, gas and electrics, and we plan the cabinets around where their work goes. We make kitchens from birch ply and moisture-resistant MDF, painted by hand or sprayed, and people most often get in touch about making the most of a galley kitchen and open shelves with cupboards below.
Where housing is mixed, as in much of London, floors, walls and ceilings vary from one home to the next. Every cabinet is levelled and scribed so the lines run straight. The carcasses are moisture-resistant MDF or birch plywood, with the finish agreed in your quote.
Where other trades are needed, for example an electrician to move a socket, we point that out, so it can be arranged before fitting day. The quote itself covers our work, from the design to the materials and finish.

From workshop to your room
With the carcasses fixed and level, any doors go on and any drawers or lids are fitted. Each one is adjusted until the gaps are even and it closes cleanly, and then we check it all again. The time the fitting takes depends on the size of the kitchen and the design, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Fitting day means joining the sections, fitting them to the walls and setting them level. Fixings are chosen for the wall, whether brick, block, lath and plaster or plasterboard. Saturdays can be arranged.

Questions to ask before you hire anyone
- How doors and drawers are fitted
- A written quote that sets out the job
- Have they thought about parking near you?
- Whether the quote follows a visit to your home
How we price bespoke kitchens
The price reflects the time and materials the job needs. That depends on:
- Stairs, lifts and the route to the room
- Doors and drawers, and how many
- Parking and unloading on your street
- Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside
Because every job is different, the cost is set out in a written quote after the visit. Bigger pieces use more board and take longer to make and fit, so size is the starting point. After that, the number of doors and drawers, the internal fittings and the finish all play a part.
Helping us understand the room
What helps most when you first contact us:
- What kind of home it is, and which floor the room is on
- Rough measurements, even if they’re only to the nearest few centimetres
- A few photos of the space, taken from the doorway and from each corner
- Your postcode and the borough
Every quote follows a design visit. At the visit, we measure, look at the walls and floors and go through the design with you, then send a quote in writing. Every piece is quoted for your room after the design visit. To book a design visit, get in touch through our contact form.
Flats, conversions and leaseholders
Some blocks ask for notice before trades arrive, often through a building manager or concierge. Lifts sometimes need to be booked, and the lift size helps decide how big each section can be. Let us know about it when you contact us.
Conversions and newer flats often have stud walls rather than solid brick. Fixings are chosen to suit whatever the wall is made of.
Made-to-measure kitchens in Hampton Wick
In the neighbourhood around Hampton Wick, the largest groups of homes date from before 1919 (about 37%) and the years since 2000 (about 26%), on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. We take that into account at the design visit, since older and newer walls take different fixings. Near the centre of Hampton Wick, Historic England’s list includes Church of All Saints (Grade I), less than half a mile south-east, and Market House (Grade II*), under half a mile south-east. For a listed home, internal works that affect its character may need listed building consent from the council, for instance removing or fixing into original panelling. The council’s conservation officer is the person to ask before work starts. TfL’s Ultra Low Emission Zone covers every part of London, Kingston upon Thames included. Vans bringing furniture to Hampton Wick fall under it, just as they do across the rest of London. How the van gets to your door is planned at the measuring visit.
The wider area includes historic houses like Hampton Court Palace, about 1.4 miles south-west. If your own home is a period one, tall ceilings can take larder cupboards right up to the top. If you live near Canbury Gardens, a cupboard by the back door for boots and coats can be built in with the kitchen.
Hampton Wick is about 1 mile north-east of Kingston upon Thames, within the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. Your questions about bespoke kitchens in Hampton Wick
Do you cover homes near Hampton Wick station?
Yes. We cover all of Kingston upon Thames and the rest of London. To get started, you can fill in our short enquiry form with a few details about the room, and let us know about parking and access at the same time.
Is parking a problem for fitting in Hampton Wick?
It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. Let us know what parking is near you during the design visit.
Do I need the building owner’s consent?
Possibly. A lease can require consent for alterations, including fixing furniture to the walls. We cannot advise on leases, so please check yours.
Can you build an island in my kitchen?
If there’s enough room, yes. There has to be comfortable space on every side, and we check this at the design visit. In a narrow kitchen, a longer run or a peninsula may suit better.
What if the wall is cold or damp?
An outside wall can be colder and damper than an inside one, so we allow for ventilation behind and inside the furniture to avoid condensation. If there is damp, it should be sorted before anything is fitted.
Do I get to choose the colour?
You choose it. The paint colour is agreed with you.
