Hounslow Bespoke Kitchens
Few London rooms are perfectly square, and we scribe the furniture to follow the walls. We make bespoke kitchens for homes in Hounslow, each designed at a visit to your home.
- Cabinets built around the appliances you choose
- Tall larder storage
- A kitchen finished in your colours

How we make bespoke kitchens for Hounslow
Moisture-resistant MDF suits kitchens well, because it stays stable and takes paint beautifully. Birch plywood is strong and holds screws well. Cabinets are spray painted in the workshop or hand painted, in the colours you choose. If you are living with extra cupboard space and a dresser that suits a period house, kitchens made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand can solve it.
Islands only work where there is room to walk round them. Interwar, semi-detached and detached homes make up a big part of the housing around Hounslow, and in an extended kitchen there may be space. We check the clearances at the design visit, along with where water and power would need to reach. Your plumber and electrician run any services to it.
Our quotes are written in plain words, without jargon. They say what will be made, what it’s made from and how it will be finished, taken from what we agreed at the visit.

Flats, leases and landlords
In a managed block, the building manager or concierge may need notice before we arrive. Lifts sometimes need to be booked, and the lift size helps decide how big each section can be. Let us know about it when you get in touch.
For a rented home, access for the design visit and fitting day has to be agreed with the tenants. A letting agent can arrange this on a landlord’s behalf.
Why people ask for bespoke kitchens in Hounslow
In many older homes, ready-made units struggle with lean and slope. Cabinets end up with gaps or tilted lines, and a bespoke kitchen is scribed and levelled to avoid that.
Bespoke kitchens can help with:
- Room for everything in the kitchen
- An island where space allows
- A larder for food and small appliances
- A kitchen for a room that is not square
If you live near Sunbury Park, a tall cupboard for outdoor things can be part of the kitchen design.
Before you hire any carpenter
- How the doors are hung and adjusted
- Can you see real work of theirs?
- How they’ll get the furniture into the room
- Will they visit to measure before quoting?
Bespoke kitchens in Hounslow: local notes
Homes built between 1973 and 1999 make up about 36% of the housing in the area around Hounslow, with about 31% built between 1919 and 1939, on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how kitchens are fixed and fitted. London’s red routes are run by TfL, and stopping on them is tightly controlled. If your street in Hounslow joins a main road, it’s worth telling us during the design visit. It lets us plan the stop before fitting day. The ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) now covers the whole of London, the rest of London included. It applies to every van that comes to fit furniture in Hounslow. We go through parking and access at the design visit.
If your children go to Meadhurst Primary School or a school nearby, planning a kitchen around family routines, with a place for school things, pays off. For a flat near Sunbury station, kitchens are made in sections sized for the stairs, landings and lift, so measuring the route matters as much as measuring the room.

Wherever you are in Hounslow, it works the same way: we visit and measure, send a quote in writing, make the furniture in our workshop and fit it. Our work takes in places right across the rest of London, large and small.

How fitting works for bespoke kitchens
When the fitting is done, we tidy the room and lift the floor protection. Before we leave, we go over the finished piece together. How long fitting takes depends on how many units there are and how the room is laid out, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Interwar houses typically have a straight run of stairs and a reasonable hallway, but the route in is still measured, not just the room. Kitchens arrive in sections and are assembled in place.
- You get in touch and describe the kitchen you want.
- At the design visit we plan the kitchen and talk about colours and finish.
- A written quote follows, with the finish agreed.
- We make the kitchen in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF, which suits kitchens and takes paint well, and birch plywood.
- We fit the cabinets in your home; a hand-painted finish is applied on site and is easy to touch up later.
- Plumbing, gas and electrics are for your plumber, an engineer on the Gas Safe Register and your electrician; new paintwork needs gentle use while it cures.

- Mention any parking restrictions on your street

Arranging a design visit
Every quote follows a design visit. We measure the space, check the walls and floors and discuss what you’d like, then send a quote in writing. The price comes in a written quote, worked out from the measurements and the design you choose. To arrange a visit, send us a few details through our contact form.
Advice
Is bespoke worth it?
Standard cabinets come in set widths, so the room has to fit the units. Ours are made to fit the room, so the runs can fill the space properly. Ready-made units come in standard depths that rarely suit every space, which may be too deep for one spot and too shallow for another. Fitted furniture is made to the depth the space can take.
Because every job is different, the cost is set out in a written quote after the visit. Bigger pieces use more board and take longer to make and fit, so size is the starting point. Doors, drawers, internal fittings and the finish make up most of the rest.

How we price bespoke kitchens
What you pay depends on:
- Where a van can park, such as a permit bay or a bay suspension
- Awkward walls, sloping ceilings and uneven floors
- Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
- Access to the room, such as stairs, lifts and narrow halls
The finish affects the cost: spray painting happens in the workshop, and hand painting can be done in your home. Your choice, along with the size and the fittings, is reflected in the written quote.
Getting in touch
What helps most when you first contact us:
- Your postcode and the borough
- Rough measurements: width, height and depth
- What you’d like to store or use the space for
- Any ideas or images you have saved
Pictures help us understand the room before we visit. A few pictures showing the walls, the corners and where the ceiling meets them give us a good feel for the space. To send them over, drop us a line using the contact form, and we’ll arrange a design visit.

Common questions about bespoke kitchens
Can you fit furniture in a home close to Sunbury station?
Yes, homes across London are within the area we cover. To get started, you can drop us a line using the contact form with some details about the room.
Can you make bespoke kitchens for a home in Hounslow?
Yes. We cover the whole of London, all 32 boroughs and the City of London. The first step is a design visit, where we measure and discuss the design, and then we send a quote.
How is the furniture painted?
There are two options: spray painting, done in the workshop for a smooth, even finish, or hand painting, which can be done on site. Your quote sets out which you’ve chosen.
Do I get to choose the colour?
You choose it, and it is agreed with you before painting. Spray and hand-painted finishes both use the colour you have chosen.
Do I need to be at home on fitting day?
We need someone to let us in. It also helps to have someone around at the end, so we can go over the finished furniture together.
How long will the kitchen take to fit?
It depends on the kitchen. How long the fitting takes depends on the kitchen’s size and how many other trades are involved, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote, so you can plan your other trades around it.
