Bespoke kitchens for homes in Isleworth
A larder cupboard can hold more than a run of wall units. We can build larders with shelves, drawers or racks inside the doors, sized to what you keep in them. Built into an alcove or the end of a wall, it puts awkward space to work. Most enquiries start with making the most of a galley kitchen and tall larder storage, and the answer is made in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand.
Homes in an area like Isleworth can come from many different periods, and kitchens can be anything from a narrow galley to an open-plan room. Cabinets are designed for the room you have. Each wall is checked so the fixings suit it.
Once you have read the quote and decided to go ahead, the furniture is built in our workshop. It describes the design, the materials and the finish agreed at the visit, so you can check every detail beforehand.

When is bespoke worth it?
The real difference is in the fit: scribed edges, a level base on an uneven floor and furniture that meets the ceiling, skirting and picture rail. In an older room, standard units rarely manage that.
Shop-bought shelves can sag over a long span. Span, depth and the weight on it decide whether a shelf sags, so a long run needs a thicker shelf, a stiffening lip or a support. We design shelves with that in mind.

Questions we are often asked
I live near Isleworth station. Is that in your area?
Yes. We cover all of Hounslow and the rest of London. To get started, you can use our contact form with a few details about the room, and tell us about parking and access at the same time.
I live in a flat in Isleworth. How will the furniture get up the stairs?
We measure the route in along with the room itself: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. Kitchens are built in our workshop in sections sized to fit that route, then assembled in your flat. If your building has rules on lift booking or working hours, or your lease needs consent for alterations, it is worth checking those early.
Does fitted furniture need planning permission?
Not typically. Conservation area controls are mainly about the outside of buildings, and furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need it. In a listed building, check with the council’s conservation officer before any work.
Is an outside wall a problem for fitted furniture?
An outside wall can be colder and damper than an inside one, so ventilation behind and inside the furniture helps, which helps avoid condensation and mould. Any damp needs sorting by the right specialist before fitting.
What happens when you come to measure?
We take full measurements, look at the walls and floors and work through the design together. We will also ask about access and parking, and afterwards we send a quote in writing.
How is the furniture painted?
There are two options: a spray finish from the workshop, which is smooth and even, or hand painting, which can be done in your home. The finish is agreed in your quote.
Kitchens in Isleworth: local notes
In the streets around Isleworth, the largest groups of homes date from between 1973 and 1999 (about 34%) and the years since 2000 (about 22%), in the VOA’s 2025 council tax stock figures. For carpentry, the era of a house is a useful clue to how square its rooms are and what its walls are made of. Entries on the National Heritage List near the centre of Isleworth include Syon Park Boathouse the Pavilion (Grade I), about 0.5 miles east, and Gumley House (convent) (Grade II*), less than half a mile south-east. If you live in a listed building, fixing into or taking out original features such as panelling can require listed building consent. Check with the council’s conservation officer first. Many London boroughs run controlled parking zones, and Hounslow sets its own rules. Depending on your street in Isleworth, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a council bay suspension may be needed. Let us know about parking during the design visit.
The wider area includes historic houses such as Syon House, about 0.9 miles north-east. For a period home anywhere nearby, a narrow back addition or an old chimney breast may shape the kitchen layout. Close to Old Deer Park? A tall cupboard for outdoor things can be part of the kitchen design. If your children go to St Mary's Catholic Primary School or a school nearby, a tall cupboard by the door can take school bags and coats as part of the kitchen.

Made-to-measure kitchens or ready-made?
Choosing bespoke means a design visit, a quote, workshop time and fitting, rather than ordering from a range. What you get is a kitchen planned around how you cook and live. A standard unit is the same in every home, whatever the room is like, while fitted furniture is drawn for the room it goes into. The finish is chosen to suit the space.
The inside of the furniture affects the price as well: drawers take more making than shelves, and each rail, divider or pull-out adds to the work. At the design visit, we work out what you need inside.

Pricing bespoke kitchens in Isleworth
A few things affect what fitted furniture costs:
- Spray painting or hand painting
- Tricky walls, sloping ceilings and uneven floors
- The width and height of the space
- How easy it is to get the furniture into the room
The finish affects the cost: spray painting is done in the workshop, while hand painting can be done on site. Your choice, along with the size and the fittings, is reflected in the written quote.
What to send when you get in touch
What helps most when you first contact us:
- Approximate measurements of the space
- Examples of the look you’re after
- What the furniture needs to hold
- Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
To make a start, drop us a line using the contact form and let us know which room you have in mind and roughly what you’d like. From there, we arrange a design visit to measure up and talk through your ideas, and a quote in writing follows.
Fitting day, step by step
However carefully a piece is made in the workshop, it still has to meet the room, and fitting day is where that happens. Few walls in older London homes are truly flat or square, so each edge that meets a wall is scribed to follow it, until the line is tight. How long the fitting itself takes depends on the size of the kitchen and the design, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Whatever the age of your home, the furniture is fitted to the walls you have, scribed where walls bow and levelled where floors slope. Hand painting can happen on site, while spray-painted pieces come ready from the workshop.
- It starts with a short note from you about the room.
- We visit to plan the layout and check how the cabinets will get into the room.
- A written quote follows, covering the cabinets, materials and finish.
- In our workshop we build the kitchen from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, in pieces that suit the route in.
- The cabinets are fitted in your home with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish; plumbing, gas and electrics are for your plumber, a Gas Safe engineer and your electrician.
How to prepare
