Fitted cupboards in Heath Park
About our fitted cupboards in Heath Park
We fit fitted cupboards in Heath Park and across London. It starts with a design visit, where we measure and talk through what you need, and then send you a quote. Once agreed, we make the cupboards in our workshop and fit them in your home. How long the fitting takes depends on the size of the cupboards and the room, and your quote sets out the fitting days, so you’ll know before we start. If you are living with making use of an awkward alcove or corner and hiding meters and a fuse board neatly, fitted cupboards made from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish can solve it.
Around Heath Park, with interwar houses or semis making up much of the housing, the hall is often wide enough for coat and shoe storage. Bay windows suit seating with drawers or lift-up lids, with a grille so any radiator below keeps heating the room. Fitted cupboards are measured and made for the house you have.
Once you’ve read the quote and decided to go ahead, the furniture is made at our workshop. It describes the design, the materials and the finish agreed at the visit, so you can check every detail beforehand.

How fitting day works
Fitting day follows a set order: we protect the floors, bring the sections in, set them level, scribe them to the walls, fix them and finish them. At the end, we tidy up and go over the work with you. How long fitting takes depends on the number of cupboards and the space they fit into, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. In a 1930s house with a converted loft, the stairs to the loft room are often steeper than the main flight, so any section going up there is sized for them. The main stairs in houses of that age are typically straighter. Each section is assembled and fixed in the room.
- You get in touch and describe the space.
- We visit to measure the space and the route in from the street, including the stairs and doorways.
- We send a written quote.
- In our workshop we build the cupboards in sections from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- We bring the sections in and fit them, scribed to the walls. The finish is sprayed before fitting or painted by hand on site.

Arranging a design visit
The quote is built from the design visit. We measure the room properly, check how the walls and floors run and go through the design with you. Afterwards, we send a quote in writing, so you can take your time with it. To book one, fill in our short enquiry form.
Advice
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
A ready-made cupboard rarely suits a boiler or meter. The space needs to suit the boiler’s instructions and leave meters reachable and fitted joinery can be designed around them. Ready-made units come in standard depths that rarely suit every space, so they can stick out too far or waste space behind. Fitted furniture is made to the depth the space can take.
There is no price list, because each job is designed for a single room. Instead, we measure, go through the design and then quote in writing, with the materials and finish set out. To arrange a design visit, use our contact form.

What it’s made from
Doors and drawer fronts
Where space is tight, we plan how each door swings, so the doors clear the walls and stairs.
Spray-painted finish
With a spray finish, the painting is done in the workshop, which keeps work in your home to fitting.
Flats, conversions and leaseholders
Conversions and newer flats often have stud walls rather than solid brick. We choose fixings to suit the wall, which we check at the design visit.
If your flat is leasehold, check your lease before fixing furniture to the walls. Some leases need the building owner’s consent for alterations, which is worth sorting early. We can’t advise on your lease.
Your questions about fitted cupboards in Heath Park
Is parking a problem for fitting in Heath Park?
It can be, depending on whether your street is in a controlled parking zone. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the measuring visit, so we can plan the day around it.
Can you fit furniture in a home close to Gidea Park station?
Yes, homes across Havering and the rest of London are within the area we cover. To get started, you can send us a few details through our contact form with a few details about the room, and tell us about parking and access at the same time.
Will a fitted cupboard work on a sloping floor?
Yes, that’s part of the job. Few walls in a period house are straight, so every cupboard is scribed and levelled.
Does someone need to be home during the fitting?
We need someone to let us in. It is good to have someone there at the end to look over the work with us.
Does my lease affect fitted furniture?
Possibly. It depends on your lease, and some need consent for alterations. We can’t give advice on your lease.
What materials do you use for fitted cupboards?
MDF for smooth painted parts and birch plywood for shelves and drawer boxes. We spray paint in the workshop or hand paint, in the colour agreed with you.
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
Bespoke work comes into its own in rooms that are not square. Older London rooms tend to have leaning walls, sloping floors and alcoves of different widths.
If you are handy, a simple shelf or a standard wardrobe in a square room is a reasonable DIY job. Sloping ceilings, uneven floors and lath-and-plaster walls make it harder.
Making use of tricky spaces in Heath Park
In the neighbourhood around Heath Park, the largest groups of homes date from between 1919 and 1939 (about 48%) and between 1945 and 1972 (about 16%), according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). Knowing roughly when a home was built helps, because walls and fixings change from one era to the next. Entries on the National Heritage List near the centre of Heath Park include Frances Bardsley Lower School (Grade II), less than half a mile north-west. Where a home is listed, listed building consent can be needed for inside works that affect its character, like fixing into original panelling. It is worth speaking to the council’s conservation officer before the design is final. Each London borough runs its own parking controls, and Havering is no exception. Depending on your street in Heath Park, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a council bay suspension may be needed. Tell us what the parking is like at the measuring visit.
If your home is one of the older houses near Saint Alban Church of England, an old boiler or airing cupboard can be rebuilt with proper shelves. The wider area includes historic houses such as Hare Hall, about 0.8 miles north-east. If your own home is a period one, fitted cupboards can fill recesses that are rarely a standard size. Close to Haynes Park? Living near green space often means muddy boots, bikes and outdoor kit, and fitted cupboards can give those things a place.
