How we price fitted cupboards
We quote each job after the design visit, because no two rooms are the same. This is what makes the difference:
- The internal fittings
- The overall size of the piece
- The number of doors and drawers
- How square the room is
We do not publish set prices, because each job is designed for a single room. Instead, we measure, talk through the design and then quote in writing, with the materials and finish set out. To start, tell us about the room on our contact form.
Before the design visit
A little information at the start saves time later. If you can, send:
- How you want to use the space
- Photos of the whole wall or room, including the floor and ceiling
- Whether it is a house or a flat, and if there are stairs or a lift
- Any ideas or images you have saved
Photos help us understand the room before we visit. A few pictures showing the walls, the corners and where the ceiling meets them give us a good feel for the space, along with rough sizes. To share them, tell us about the room on our contact form, and we’ll suggest a time for a design visit.
About our fitted cupboards in Noel Park
Walls in period homes are rarely flat or square, and floors and ceilings can be out of level too. Every cupboard is scribed, trimmed by hand to meet the wall, then set level on adjustable feet or a plinth. We work around skirting, coving and picture rails, so the cupboard looks as if it has always been there. We make fitted cupboards from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted, and the usual reasons to get in touch are a cupboard for the meters with easy access and somewhere for coats, shoes and bags.
Ceilings and floors in homes built before 1919 are rarely level, and a large share of the homes around Noel Park date from then. Each piece is scribed and levelled on site so it looks straight in a room that is not. Picture rails, skirting and cornices are worked around rather than removed, and the paint colour is agreed with you.
If the job needs another trade, such as an electrician or a plumber, we’ll tell you. The quote itself covers our work, from the design to the materials and finish.

Made for the room, or bought in a box?
There is a place for both. For a square alcove and a tight budget, a ready-made unit may do the job. Where the room is awkward, the walls are uneven or you want the cupboard to look built in, fitted joinery is normally the better answer. Standard units assume square rooms, and period homes seldom have them, so you end up with gaps, wobbles and units that don’t meet the skirting. Fitted pieces follow the wall and sit level.
What goes inside matters as much as the outside: drawers take more making than shelves, and each rail, divider or pull-out adds to the work. At the design visit, we work out what you need inside, and the quote follows.

Fitted cupboards for homes in Noel Park
In the neighbourhood around Noel Park, the largest groups of homes date from before 1919 (about 59%) and between 1919 and 1939 (about 14%), on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how fitted cupboards are fixed and fitted. The National Heritage List records 12 entries within half a mile of the centre of Noel Park. Being near listed buildings does not make a home listed, and you can check any address on Historic England’s list. Red routes are run by TfL, with tight limits on where and when vehicles can stop. If your street in Noel Park joins a main road, it’s worth telling us during the design visit. We’ll plan where the van can stop.
For an older house near Church of St Mark, an old boiler or airing cupboard can be rebuilt with proper shelves. If your home is as old as some of the listed buildings nearby, like Top Rank Club, original features like shutters, panelling and fireplaces are worth designing around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features. The wider area includes historic houses like Bruce Castle, about 1.2 miles east. For a period home anywhere nearby, fitted cupboards can fill recesses that are rarely a standard size.

Your questions about fitted cupboards in Noel Park
Do you make fitted cupboards for homes in Noel Park?
Yes. Noel Park is one of the places we work, along with the rest of Haringey and London. You can drop us a line using the contact form to arrange a design visit.
Can you fit furniture in a home close to Alexandra Palace station?
Yes, homes across Haringey and the rest of London are within the area we cover. To get started, you can message us from the contact page with some details about the room, and tell us about parking and access at the same time.
Is an outside wall a problem for fitted furniture?
External walls can be colder and damper than internal ones, so ventilation behind and inside the furniture helps, which helps avoid condensation and mould. If there is damp, it should be sorted before anything is fitted.
What if the stairs or lift are small?
We plan the route in at the design visit. We measure the stairs, landings, lift and doors, and the furniture is made in sections sized to get through.
Do I need permission in a conservation area?
Not normally. Conservation areas mostly control changes to the outside, and furniture inside a house does not normally need it. In a listed building, check with the council’s conservation officer before any work.
Can I send pictures before the visit?
Yes, they help. A few pictures of the room, from floor to ceiling, tell us a lot, especially with rough sizes. To send them, use our contact form.
What we do not do
We don’t treat damp or carry out building work, so these points are worth knowing:
- Connecting appliances to water or waste
- Relocating meters or the fuse board
- Wiring for lights or sockets
If in doubt, you can send us a few details through our contact form and describe the room before you arrange a visit. Our process from visit to fitting.
What it is made from
- Spray-painted finish
- Moisture-resistant MDF
- Ventilated doors
- Birch plywood
- Adjustable shelves
- Hand-painted finish
How fitting works for fitted cupboards
There isn’t much for you to do on fitting day. We need someone to let us in at the start, and the room should already be cleared, as agreed during the design visit. After that, it is over to us: the floors are covered, the sections come in and the fitting begins. The time the fitting takes depends on the number of cupboards and the space they fit into, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Original hallway tiles and old floorboards are worth protecting, so they’re covered before anything comes in. Fixings into older walls are made carefully, as lath and plaster can crack if treated roughly. Any decorating around the new pieces is for your decorator.
- We start with a short note from you about the space and what it needs to hold. It might be a hallway, a landing, a utility or a boot room.
- At the design visit we measure up and talk through doors, shelves and rails.
- We send a quote that sets out the design, the materials and the finish.
- The cupboards are made in our workshop.
- The cupboards are fitted in your home and trimmed to follow the walls. We check each door and shelf with you before we leave.
How to prepare
- Let us know if your street is in a controlled parking zone
- Make sure pets are kept safely away
- Move furniture and belongings away from the wall
Getting a quote
If you already have something in mind, tell us; if you don’t, that’s fine, and we can work it out together. At the design visit, we measure up and talk the design through with you, and the written quote that follows sets it out. To start, fill in our short enquiry form.
