How we price fitted wardrobes

Prices vary from room to room, and it comes down to:

  • Access to the room, like stairs, lifts and narrow halls
  • The internal fittings
  • Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
  • Parking and unloading on your street

We don’t publish set prices, because each job is designed for a single room. Instead, we measure, discuss the design and then quote in writing. To arrange a design visit, use our contact form.

What we need to know

A little information at the start saves time later. Where you can, include:

  • Pictures showing the full wall, from floor to ceiling
  • Where you live, with the postcode
  • Any ideas or images you’ve saved
  • How you want to use the space

Photos help us understand the room before we visit. Pictures of the whole wall, the corners and the ceiling line give us a good feel for the space. To send them over, message us from the contact page, and we’ll arrange a design visit.

How we make fitted wardrobes for Stonebridge Park

Rail heights are set for the clothes they hold. A tall section suits long coats and dresses, while shirts, jackets and folded trousers suit two rails, one above the other. We also think about who uses it, keeping rails at a height they can reach. If your home has several odd pieces where one run of storage would do and storage boxes stacked under the bed, that is what fitted wardrobes are for, made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted.

Many newer homes have tall windows or full-height glazing in the bedroom, so the remaining walls have to work harder. That’s worth planning for around Stonebridge Park, where many homes date from 2000 onwards, so we make the most of the walls you have. Corners are designed in rather than left as dead space.

The furniture is made at our workshop after you’ve had the quote and decided to go ahead. The quote sets out the agreed design, materials and finish, so every detail can be checked first.

Do you need fitted wardrobes in Stonebridge Park?

For some, it is about a calmer room. A single run of painted doors looks tidier than mixed furniture and keeps everything out of sight.

These come up often when people first get in touch:

  • Clothes with nowhere proper to go
  • Several odd pieces where one run of storage would do
  • Too little room for clothes
  • No space in front for doors to swing

If your children go to Our Lady of Lourdes RC Primary School or a school nearby, a mix of drawers and shelves copes with school uniform as well as everything else.

What to check before you book

  • How parking will work on your street
  • Will the quote be in writing?
  • Whether they measure the room themselves
  • How the doors are hung and adjusted

Choosing a carpenter in London: a checklist

Bedrooms in Stonebridge Park: local notes

Homes built since 2000 make up about 50% of the housing in the streets around Stonebridge Park, with about 24% built between 1919 and 1939, going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. That matters for fitted wardrobes, as the build era decides whether a wall is solid brick, lath and plaster, block or plasterboard. Stonebridge Park is partly covered by a conservation area, according to Historic England’s records. Conservation area controls are largely about how buildings look from outside, and fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. If in doubt, the council’s planning team can confirm. Since the zone was extended to the outer boroughs in August 2023, the whole of London has been inside the ULEZ. That includes the vans that bring and fit furniture in Stonebridge Park. Access and parking are talked through at the measuring visit.

Close to St. Raphael's Edible Garden? Keeping fitted wardrobes off the window wall keeps the room bright. Pitzhanger Manor, about 2.8 miles south-west, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. For a period home anywhere nearby, tall ceilings give fitted wardrobes room to reach the cornice.

Stonebridge Park is about 3 miles east of Kilburn, in the London Borough of Brent. We can visit homes in Stonebridge Park on weekdays, or on a Saturday by prior arrangement. Our work takes in places right across Brent, from the busiest high streets to quiet residential roads.

Birch plywood

For drawers that are used every day, birch plywood boxes are hard-wearing.

Plinths and scribe strips

A plinth raises the wardrobe off the floor and takes up any slope. Its height can be set to match the skirting.

Questions we are often asked

How do you fit fitted wardrobes in a flat in Stonebridge Park?

We measure the route in not just the room: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. Fitted wardrobes are made in our workshop in sections sized to fit that route, then assembled in your flat. It helps to check any building rules and your lease before fitting day.

I live near Stonebridge Park station. Is that in your area?

Yes, homes across Brent and the rest of London are within the area we cover. To get started, you can drop us a line using the contact form with some details about the room.

Can fitted wardrobes follow a sloping ceiling?

Yes. We shape the wardrobe to follow the slope, keeping hanging space at the tall end and drawers or shelves lower down. It makes good use of space that’s hard to furnish.

Is it OK to put a wardrobe on an outside wall?

Yes, as long as it’s ventilated. An outside wall is often colder than an inside one, so we allow for airflow behind and inside the wardrobe.

Can wardrobes be fitted on an uneven floor?

It is common, and it is allowed for. The wardrobe is set level with a plinth or adjustable feet and scribed to the walls so the doors close neatly.

How is the inside of the wardrobe planned?

You choose the mix of hanging, shelves and drawers. Long hanging, double hanging, shelves, drawers and shoe space can all be included. We talk it through at the measuring visit.

Bespoke or off-the-shelf?

Walls and floors in older homes are seldom straight or level. Standalone wardrobes may lean or leave uneven gaps against the wall. Ours are levelled on a plinth or adjustable feet and scribed to the walls. Separate ready-made pieces can make an open-plan room feel unplanned, whereas fitted furniture can define each part of the room.

Every room is priced on its own, because the size, the layout and the finish all vary. A spray finish and a hand-painted finish involve different work, and that shows in the price. The figure comes in your written quote after the design visit.

What you get with us

Fitting day, step by step

The last stage of the day is the finish. With a spray finish from the workshop, there is normally only filling and touching up to do in the room; hand painting, if that’s what you chose, can be done in place once everything is fitted. The finish is always the one agreed in your quote. Fitting day starts by covering floors and setting out the sections. Each piece is levelled and fixed to suit plasterboard or block. Hand-painted finishes can be completed once the furniture is in.

  1. To begin, send us a few details through our contact form; a brief note on the bedroom and what you need to store is enough.
  2. At the design visit we measure the room and plan the inside: long hanging, double hanging, shelves and drawers.
  3. The written quote sets out each wardrobe’s inside layout, the doors, the materials and the finish.
  4. The wardrobes are built in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, ready for the rails, shelves and drawers you chose.
  5. The wardrobes are fitted in your home, spray-painted in the workshop or hand-painted on site, and the inside fittings go in last.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about any meters, fuse boards or boilers in the area
  • Keep pets out of the room and the hallway
  • Move anything in the hall or on the stairs out of the way

Getting a quote

We quote once we have seen the room. At the visit, we measure, look at the walls and floors and talk through the design with you, and the written quote comes after. Prices are quoted for your room, once we’ve measured and talked through the design. To arrange a visit, tell us about the room on our contact form.
