Brondesbury Park Loft Storage
Few London rooms are perfectly square, and we scribe the furniture to follow the walls. We make loft storage for homes in Brondesbury Park, each designed at a visit to your home.
- Needing storage in a loft office
- A boarded loft with no proper shelving
- Wasted space behind the knee walls
Loft storage for your home in Brondesbury Park
About our loft storage in Brondesbury Park
The low space behind a knee wall is often the most useful in the room. Cupboards and drawers set into the knee wall make that space useful. Drawers bring the back of the space within reach. We measure and plan for the space you have in Brondesbury Park. If you’re living with a sloping ceiling with no room for a wardrobe and space under the eaves going to waste, eaves cupboards made from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish can solve it.
If you live in one of the interwar houses or semis around Brondesbury Park, the hallway may be wider than in a Victorian terrace, with room for a cupboard by the door. Bay windows suit seating with drawers or lift-up lids, with a grille so any radiator below keeps heating the room. Each space is measured and eaves cupboards are made to suit it.
We write quotes in plain English. They say what will be made, what it is made from and how it will be finished, taken from what we agreed at the visit.

Practical tips
None of this takes much effort. Here’s what we suggest:
- Think about matching the woodwork or the walls
- Make a list of what you want to store in the eaves
- Empty the eaves so we can see what’s behind
- Count the clothes you’ll need to hang
A soft, damp cloth is the best way to keep the storage clean. Avoid scourers and harsh cleaners. Handles and drawer edges pick up marks first.
Sharp edges and heavy boxes can chip a painted edge. Put tools in a case so they do not knock the paint. A small chip on a hand-painted finish is easy to touch in.

Questions from Brondesbury Park
I live near Wembley Central station. Is that in your area?
Yes. We cover all of Brent and the rest of London. You can send us a few details through our contact form to arrange a design visit, and tell us about parking and access at the same time.
Does a conservation area in or near Brondesbury Park affect fitted furniture?
Usually not: conservation area rules mainly cover the outside of buildings, and fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. Listed buildings are different, as works inside that affect their character can require listed building consent from the council. If you are unsure, the council can confirm.
How is the furniture painted?
You can choose between two finishes: by spray or by hand. Spray painting gives a smooth, even finish, and hand painting is easy to touch up.
Does someone need to be home during the fitting?
Someone needs to let us in at the start of the day. It also helps to have someone around at the end, so we can go over the finished furniture together.
What do eaves cupboards cost?
Your quote is written for your room once we’ve visited and measured. The mix of cupboards, drawers and wardrobes, and the finish, all play a part. Everything is set out in a written quote after the visit.
What happens at the design visit?
It’s a chance to measure properly and talk through what you’d like. We also check the walls and floors and note radiators, sockets and other things in the way, then send a written quote.
Why people ask for loft storage in Brondesbury Park
A new loft conversion often needs storage to finish it. The room is there, but the furniture to fit it isn’t. Fitted storage finishes the room.
If you recognise any of these, it’s worth talking to us:
- Space under the eaves going to waste
- Boxes piled on loft boards
- A loft room that still feels unfinished
- Boxes and suitcases with no home
For an older house near Church of St John, a dormer in a converted loft can hold shelves or a small desk.
Choosing a carpenter
- How doors and drawers are fitted
- Will they visit to measure before quoting?
- Do they scribe the furniture to the walls?
- Have they measured the stairs, lift and doorways?
Materials and finishes
Spray-painted finish
For a crisp, even look, many people choose a spray-painted finish. It is applied in our workshop, and the paint needs time to cure fully once fitted.
Moisture-resistant MDF
MDF cuts cleanly, which suits the angled panels under a sloping ceiling. We use a moisture-resistant grade, which is stable and takes paint well. It makes up most of the visible parts.
When you need someone else
Not everything around loft storage is carpentry, like an electrician, a plumber or a Gas Safe registered engineer. Here’s what to know:
- Approval for structural changes
- Building work to turn a loft into a room
- Adding or replacing insulation
If you’re not sure what’s possible in your room, you can message us from the contact page and we will give you a straight answer before you arrange a visit. How a job runs, step by step.

How fitting day works
Fitting day follows a set order: floors are protected, the sections come in, everything is levelled, scribed to the walls, fixed and finished. At the end, we tidy up and go over the work with you. How long fitting takes depends on the shape of the room and the number of cupboards and drawers, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Fitting day means carrying in the sections, joining them and fitting them to the walls. Hand-painted furniture can be finished on site; spray-painted pieces arrive finished from the workshop. Saturday fitting is possible by arrangement.
- It starts when you contact us with a few details about the loft, and how you get up to it.
- We visit to measure the eaves and slopes and go through the design.
- We send a written quote setting out the design, materials and finish.
- Your storage is built in our workshop and painted to your chosen colour.
- We carry it up, fit it and leave it ready to use.
Getting ready for fitting day
- If you live in a block, book the lift and tell the building manager
- Move anything in the hall or on the stairs out of the way
- Empty the space we’ll be working in
Ask for a quote
To make a start, get in touch through our contact form and tell us which room you have in mind and roughly what you’d like. From there, we arrange a design visit to measure up and talk through your ideas, and send you a quote in writing afterwards.
Advice
Brondesbury Park homes and loft storage
In the streets around Brondesbury Park, the largest groups of homes date from between 1919 and 1939 (about 39%) and the years since 2000 (about 22%), on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. Knowing roughly when a home was built helps, because walls and fixings change from one era to the next. Brondesbury Park is partly covered by a conservation area, according to Historic England’s records. Conservation area rules mainly cover the outside of buildings, so fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. The council can confirm if you are not sure. Controlled parking zones are common across London, and Brent sets its own rules. If your street in Brondesbury Park is in a controlled parking zone, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a parking bay suspension through the council may be needed. Parking near your home is worth mentioning during the design visit.
If your home is as old as some of the listed buildings nearby, like Church of St John, original features like shutters, panelling and fireplaces are worth designing around. For a listed home, fixing into original features may need listed building consent. Northolt Manor, about 2.9 miles west, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. For a period home anywhere nearby, a dormer in a converted loft can hold shelves or a small desk.
