Walk-in wardrobes for homes in Brondesbury Park
You can have doors, open storage or a mix. Doors keep dust off and give a calm look, and open rails make it quick to find things. The choice is yours, and we will go through it when we measure. We make walk-in wardrobes from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish, and people most often get in touch about setting aside a corner of a large bedroom and room for a growing wardrobe.
Bedrooms in interwar houses often have a picture rail but a plainer ceiling than a Victorian room, which makes it simple to take fitted furniture up to the ceiling. If yours is one of the interwar houses or semis that make up much of the housing around Brondesbury Park, high cupboards make a good home for suitcases and spare bedding. Skirting boards are cut around neatly.
A written quote follows the design visit. It describes the design we discussed, the materials and the finish.

Fitting day, step by step
On the morning of the fitting, we start by protecting your floors and the route from the front door to the room. The sections made at our workshop come in next, one at a time. How long the fitting takes depends on the size of the room and the design, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Interwar houses normally have a straight run of stairs and a reasonable hallway, but the route in is still measured, not just the room. The furniture comes in sections and is put together where it’s going, with floors protected throughout.
- You get in touch and let us know about the room and what you want to store.
- We come to measure the room and go through how the space should work.
- A quote in writing follows, covering the design, materials and finish.
- The units are built in our workshop.
- The units are fitted in your home and trimmed to follow the walls.
Getting ready for fitting day
- Arrange any electrical changes with your electrician ahead of time
- Leave a clear route from the front door to the room
- Clear the walls of pictures and shelves
Starting with a design visit
A quote begins with some details from you: the room, rough sizes and some pictures if you have them. When you’re ready, message us from the contact page. After that, we arrange a visit to measure and talk through the design, then send a quote in writing.

Walk-in wardrobes for homes in Brondesbury Park
About 39% of the homes in the streets around Brondesbury Park went up between 1919 and 1939, and about 22% since 2000, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). For carpentry, the era of a house is a useful clue to how square its rooms are and what its walls are made of. Near the centre of Brondesbury Park, Historic England’s list includes Church of St John (Grade II), under half a mile south-east, and Wembley Fire Station (Grade II), less than half a mile south. If you live in a listed building, fixing into or taking out original features like panelling can require listed building consent. Ask the council’s conservation officer before anything is fixed. Parking controls in London are set borough by borough, so Brent has its own. If parking near you is controlled, a visitor permit or a bay suspension may be needed, and the council arranges suspensions, often with notice. It is useful to let us know about parking at the design visit.
If you live near Preston Park, keeping walk-in wardrobes off the window wall keeps the room bright. Northolt Manor, about 2.9 miles west, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. If your own home is a period one, a bedroom chimney breast and its alcoves often shape where walk-in wardrobes go. For a flat near Wembley Central station, the route in is measured as well as the room, and the sections are sized to fit it.

Questions we are often asked
Do I need permission for fitted furniture in a conservation area?
Not normally. Conservation area controls are mostly concerned with the outside of buildings, so fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. If your home is listed, changes inside that alter its character can require listed building consent, so check with the council first. If you are unsure, the council can confirm.
Do you make walk-in wardrobes for homes in Brondesbury Park?
Yes, we work across Brent, Brondesbury Park included, and across the rest of London. To get started, you can drop us a line using the contact form with a few details.
Can a walk-in wardrobe be part of a bedroom?
Yes, where the room is large enough. One end or a corner can be set aside with a run of units, open or behind doors. Any new partition is for your builder, and we fit the furniture.
Can I send pictures ahead of the visit?
Yes. They give us a feel for the space before we visit, along with rough sizes. Show anything the furniture has to work around, such as radiators or sockets.
Can the fitting be on a Saturday?
Yes, we can arrange Saturdays. Just mention it when you get in touch.
Is the furniture spray painted or hand painted?
You can choose between two finishes: by spray or by hand. A spray finish is smooth and even, while a hand-painted one is easy to touch up later.
DIY, flat-pack or bespoke
Off-the-shelf cupboards come in fixed sizes, so there’s often a strip of wasted space at the side or above. Fitted furniture is made to the room’s measurements, so it can run to the ceiling and fill the width.
Bespoke work comes into its own in rooms that are not square. Older London rooms tend to have leaning walls, sloping floors and alcoves of different widths.
What affects the price in Brondesbury Park
Each piece is designed for one room, so each price is too. What affects it comes down to:
- The width and height of the space
- Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
- Access to the room, such as stairs, lifts and narrow halls
- Doors and drawers, and how many
Access to the room makes a difference too. Several flights of stairs, a small lift or a narrow hall can mean smaller sections and more carrying, and that’s part of the price. We quote each job for the room it’s going into, after the design visit.
Before the design visit
What helps most when you first contact us:
- How you want to use the space
- A few photos of the space, taken from the doorway and from each corner
- Rough measurements, even if they’re only to the nearest few centimetres
- Examples of the look you’re after
It’s useful to see the room before we come. Pictures of the whole wall, the corners and the ceiling line give us a good feel for the space, particularly with rough sizes. To share them, message us from the contact page, and we will suggest a time for a design visit.
How it is made
Birch plywood
Birch plywood is strong and holds screws well, which suits drawer boxes and shelves. Its layered edge can be shown or painted.
Spray-painted finish
The colour is agreed with you before we spray.
Honest limits
Before you plan the job, it helps to know what we do not do:
- Lease checks, which are for you and your building’s managers
- Electrical work in the room
- Building a new partition wall
If in doubt, you can drop us a line using the contact form and describe the room before you arrange a visit. How a job runs, step by step.
