Loft storage in Perivale, Ealing
We make loft storage for homes in Perivale, designed around the room you have. We design your eaves cupboard at a visit to your home, make it in our workshop and fit it.

- Low eaves that nobody can use
- A dormer that is not being used
Loft storage for your home in Perivale
About our loft storage in Perivale
Behind an eaves door, there is often insulation and a need for ventilation. Storage shouldn’t block the ventilation or squash the insulation. If you have concerns about what’s behind the eaves, ask the people who did the conversion. When we visit in Perivale, we’ll see what’s there. If you’re living with boxes and suitcases with no home and unused space in a dormer, eaves cupboards made from birch plywood and moisture-resistant MDF with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish can solve it.
An interwar house typically has a proper landing, sometimes with a recess or an airing cupboard, and that space can take shallow fitted storage. Around Perivale, where interwar homes and semis are a big part of the housing, it’s worth looking up as well as down. Any boiler or hot water cylinder keeps the access and ventilation its maker asks for.
Everything we agree at the design visit goes into the written quote: the layout and internal fittings, the materials and the finish. If something isn’t quite right, tell us before anything is made.

Before and after fitting day
New paint needs time to cure fully, so go gently with it for a while. After that, a few simple habits help:
- Let us know about parking at the design visit
- Make room so the whole loft can be measured
- Measure the loft stairs, the turns and the landing
- Find out what’s behind the eaves, from insulation to vents
When we’ve finished fitting, the cupboards and drawers are ready. Paint needs time to cure fully, so treat the new finish gently at first. Keep tape and strong cleaners away from it while it settles.
Don’t overfill drawers, as heavy loads strain the runners. It helps to clear out now and then. Keep the heaviest things near the floor.
The problems loft storage solve
A new loft conversion often needs storage to finish it. The room is there, but the furniture to fit it is not. Fitted storage finishes the room.
Here are some of the needs we are asked about most:
- No wardrobe that fits under the slope
- Seasonal things cluttering the loft room
- A dormer that is not being used
- Boxes piled on loft boards
For families living near St John Fisher Catholic Primary School, deep drawers suit the bulky things families collect, from scooters to swimming kit.
Before you choose who makes it
- Do they scribe the furniture to the walls?
- Whether you’ll get a quote in writing, not just a figure
- Whether the finish is set out in the quote
- How the doors are hung and adjusted

Perivale homes and loft storage
Homes built between 1919 and 1939 make up about 77% of the housing in the area around Perivale, with about 11% built since 2000, going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. That matters for eaves cupboards, as the build era decides whether a wall is solid brick, lath and plaster, block or plasterboard. There are 11 entries on the National Heritage List within half a mile of the centre of Perivale. Being near listed buildings doesn’t make a home listed, and you can check any address on Historic England’s list. Red routes, run by TfL, have strict rules on stopping and loading. If your home is on or just off a main road, it helps to mention it. We will plan where the van can stop.
If you live near Castle Bar Park, living near green space often means muddy boots, bikes and outdoor kit, and eaves cupboards can give those things a place. Near listed buildings like Church of St Mary the Virgin, about 0.5 miles south of the centre of Perivale, older homes may keep original joinery that eaves cupboards can be designed around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features.
Perivale is in the London Borough of Ealing, about 2 miles south of Ealing. We cover Perivale as part of our work across Ealing, and the process is the same everywhere we work. Perivale is one of 19 places on our list for Ealing.
Postcode districts we cover here for loft storage: UB6, HA0 and W5. What it costs
There’s no set price, because there is no set room. The things that affect it are:
- Stairs, lifts and the route to the room
- Parking near your home
- How many doors and drawers there are
- How square the room is
In London, parking can affect the price. Much of London is covered by controlled parking zones, so we may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a suspended bay. Let us know about parking during the design visit, so it can be planned.
What to send when you contact us
A little information at the start saves time later. Where you can, include:
- Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
- What you’d like to store or use the space for
- Any ideas or images you’ve saved
- Your postcode and the borough
Rough measurements are fine at the start. Everything is measured properly when we visit. To get started, fill in our short enquiry form and let us know about the room. You receive a written quote after the visit.
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
Off-the-shelf furniture can be a sensible choice. If the walls are straight and the space suits standard sizes, it often does the job, and it’s quick to buy.
A confident DIYer can manage simple shelves or a standard wardrobe in a square room. It gets harder with sloping ceilings, out-of-level floors and lath-and-plaster walls, because scribing and the right fixings start to matter.
How fitting works for loft storage
Every fitting follows the same order: we protect the floors, bring the sections in, set them level, scribe them to the walls, fix them and finish them. At the end, we tidy up and go over the work with you. How long the fitting takes depends on the shape of the room and the number of cupboards and drawers, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. Fitting day means carrying in the sections, joining them and fitting them to the walls. Hand-painted furniture can be finished on site; spray-painted pieces arrive finished from the workshop. Saturdays can be arranged.
- You get in touch and tell us about your converted or boarded loft, and how you get up to it.
- We visit to measure the eaves and slopes and talk through the design, including the headroom under the slope.
- We send a quote in writing setting out the design, materials and finish, for you to look over.
- We make every part in our workshop, cut to the angle of the slope. We use moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- We carry it up, fit it and leave it ready to use, with the finish sprayed beforehand or painted by hand on site.
Before fitting day
- Move furniture and belongings away from the wall
- Keep pets in another room while we work
- Clear the hallway and stairs so the sections can come through
Getting a quote
The design visit is where every quote starts. We measure the room properly, check how the walls and floors run and discuss the design with you. A quote in writing follows the visit for you to look over. To arrange the visit, message us from the contact page.
Related advice
Questions we are often asked
Can parking be tricky on fitting day in Perivale?
It can be, depending on whether your street is in a controlled parking zone. A van may need a visitor permit, a pay-and-display bay or a suspended bay, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the design visit, so the day can be planned around it.
Is Perivale in the area you cover for loft storage?
Yes, we work across Ealing, Perivale included, and across the rest of London. You can send us a few details through our contact form to arrange a design visit.
Do I need to be at home on fitting day?
We need someone to let us in. It’s good to have someone there at the end to look over the work with us.
Do I need planning permission for fitted furniture?
Typically not. Inside a house, fitted furniture does not normally need planning permission. Listed buildings can require listed building consent for works that affect their character, so ask the council’s conservation officer.
What materials do you use for loft storage?
The storage is made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood. The carcasses and drawer boxes are birch plywood, which is strong and holds screws well, and MDF takes paint well for the doors and panels. The finish is spray-painted or hand-painted.
Can you convert my loft as well?
No. Our work is storage in loft rooms that are already converted, or in boarded lofts. Loft conversions are building work, with Building Regulations to follow. When the room is finished, we can plan the storage.
