Loft storage for homes in Euston

The low space behind a knee wall is often the most useful in the room. Cupboards and drawers set into the knee wall make that space useful. Drawers bring the back of the space within reach. We measure and plan for the space you have in Euston. We make eaves cupboards from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted, and the usual reasons to get in touch are a loft room that still feels unfinished and a loft room that doubles as an office or guest room.

Getting materials into a block means planning the lift, the corridor and the front door of the flat. Around Euston, most households are in purpose-built flats, so eaves cupboards are drawn in sections from the start. Floors in the corridor and the flat are covered on the way in.

After the design visit, we send you a quote in writing. It sets out the design we’ve talked through, the materials and the finish, so it’s clear what’s included.

How fitting works for loft storage

Period rooms often have skirting boards, picture rails, cornices or coving for the furniture to meet. On fitting day, we cut and scribe the furniture around these details, so it sits neatly against the room. How long fitting takes depends on how much storage you want in the loft, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. For a flat, the stairs, landings, lift and doors are measured not just the room: the furniture is made in sections that fit through all of them. Mansion block lifts can be small, and some blocks have no lift at all, which the design allows for.

  1. You get in touch and describe the loft room, its slopes and any dormer.
  2. We visit to measure the slopes and eaves and talk through cupboards, drawers and wardrobes under them.
  3. Your written quote sets out the storage and the finish.
  4. The storage is made at our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, cut to the angles we measured.
  5. We fit the storage in the loft, trimming the edges so they meet the ceiling neatly, with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish.

How to prepare

  • Take down pictures, mirrors and shelves from the wall
  • Have your electrician move any sockets or switches beforehand
  • Move furniture and belongings away from the wall

Advice

Bespoke loft storage or ready-made?

Off-the-shelf wardrobes often don’t fit up narrow loft stairs. We make each piece in sections that fit up the stairs. It means a full wardrobe can still reach the room. Whether the ceilings are tall or low, standard heights rarely match them, which wastes the space above. Built-in pieces use the full height.

We do not publish set prices, because each job is designed for a single room. We measure up, discuss the design and send a written quote. To arrange a design visit, tell us about the room on our contact form.

How it is made

Spray-painted finish

Spray painting suits angled panels and plain fronts alike. It is carried out in the workshop for an even coat. Any paint colour agreed with you can be used.

Birch plywood

Birch plywood is made in layers, which makes it strong and stable. It goes into the carcasses, the shelves and the drawers, with the edge either shown or painted.

What affects the cost of loft storage

Several things affect the price:

  • Awkward walls, sloping ceilings and uneven floors
  • Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside
  • Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
  • Doors and drawers, and how many

Every room is priced on its own, because size, layout and finish change from job to job. A spray finish and a hand-painted finish involve different work, and that shows in the price. The figure comes in your written quote after the design visit.

Before the design visit

To help us picture the room, please include:

  • What kind of home it is, and which floor the room is on
  • Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
  • Where you live, with the postcode
  • Photos of the whole wall or room, including the floor and ceiling

It is useful to see the room before we come. A few pictures showing the walls, the corners and where the ceiling meets them tell us a lot about the space, along with rough measurements. To send them over, get in touch through our contact form, and we will arrange a design visit.

Flat-pack or bespoke?

What you pay for with bespoke is mainly the fit: scribed edges, a level base on an uneven floor and furniture that meets the ceiling, skirting and picture rail. In an older room, standard units rarely manage that.

Cost matters, and it is fair to say so: flat-pack is usually cheaper to buy. Bespoke makes more sense where the room is tricky, the space is valuable or you want the furniture to look built in.

Loft storage in Euston: local notes

Homes built before 1919 make up about 40% of the housing in the neighbourhood around Euston, with about 21% built since 2000, in the VOA’s 2025 council tax stock figures. Knowing roughly when a home was built helps, because walls and fixings change from one era to the next. There are 242 entries on the National Heritage List within half a mile of the centre of Euston. Older homes nearby may have original joinery, shutters or panelling worth keeping, and eaves cupboards can be designed to work around them. Purpose-built flats are more common around Euston than across Camden: about 78% of households, against about 56%, based on Census 2021. So the route in, from stairs to lifts, is part of the design.

If you live in a flat close to London Euston station, it helps to book the lift and tell the concierge before fitting day. Near listed buildings like Church of St Pancras, less than half a mile east of the centre of Euston, older homes may keep original joinery that eaves cupboards can be designed around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features. If you live in a period home close to St Pancras New Church, the low eaves and slopes of a converted loft are worth using.

Euston is about 1 mile east of St Pancras, part of the London Borough of Camden. We cover Euston as part of our work across Camden, and the process is the same everywhere we work. Euston is one of the places in Camden where we make loft storage.

Design visits and fitting in NW1W, W1T and NW1 work the same way as everywhere else we cover. Our area takes in homes on streets such as Euston Road, Duke's Road and Phoenix Road, along with the roads around them, for loft storage and any of our other fitted furniture. Main roads around Euston include the A501 and A4200, and we plan where the van can stop before fitting day. If you’re just outside Euston, we also cover Somers Town (1 mile north), Fitzrovia (1 mile south-west), Bloomsbury (1 mile south-east), Kings Cross (1 mile north-east) and St Pancras (1 mile east). Other parts of Camden we cover include Hampstead (3 miles north-west), West Hampstead (3 miles north-west), Greenhill (3 miles north-west), Dartmouth Park (2 miles north), Gospel Oak (2 miles north) and Haverstock (2 miles north-west).

Local landmarks in Euston

Questions from Euston

My home in Euston is a flat. How do you get the furniture in?

We measure the route in along with the room itself: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. Eaves cupboards are built in our workshop in sections sized to fit that route, then assembled in your flat. It helps to check any building rules and your lease before fitting day.

Can you fit furniture in a home close to London Euston station?

Yes. We cover all of Camden and the rest of London. You can send us a few details through our contact form to arrange a design visit.

What if my walls and floors are out of level?

It is something we deal with all the time. We trim the edges to follow the wall and level the base.

Can you fit furniture on an external wall?

External walls can be colder and damper than internal ones, so we allow for ventilation behind and inside the furniture, which helps avoid condensation and mould. If there’s damp, it should be sorted before anything is fitted.

Can you come on a Saturday?

Yes, by arrangement. If a Saturday works better for you, say so when you contact us.

What are your eaves cupboards made from?

We use moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood. Birch plywood gives strength to the carcasses and drawers, and MDF takes paint well for the doors and panels. The finish is spray-painted or hand-painted.
