Loft Storage in Agar Town
Few London rooms are perfectly square, and we scribe the furniture to follow the walls. Our work on loft storage in Agar Town starts with a design visit, and everything is made at our workshop.
- No wardrobe that fits under the slope
- Needing storage in a loft office
- A boarded loft that’s hard to keep organised

Loft storage for homes in Agar Town
Behind an eaves door, there is often insulation and a need for ventilation. We design the storage so it doesn’t block airflow or crush insulation. If anything looks wrong behind the eaves, it’s worth asking whoever converted the loft. When we visit in Agar Town, we will see what’s there. If you are living with a converted loft with no fitted furniture and standard furniture that won’t go up the loft stairs, eaves cupboards made from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish can solve it.
In a block, the lift, the corridors and the door to the flat set the size of each section. Around Agar Town, most households are in purpose-built flats, so eaves cupboards are drawn in sections from the start. Floors in the corridor and the flat are covered on the way in.
Where other trades are needed, for example an electrician to move a socket, we point that out. The quote itself covers our work, from the design to the materials and finish.

Boards, parts and paint
Spray-painted finish
Spraying gives a smooth, even surface. We spray in the workshop, so the finish is complete before fitting. The colour is agreed with you.
Hand-painted finish
A hand-painted finish can be done in your home after fitting. Small marks are simple to touch in later. That suits a room in daily use.
Your questions about loft storage in Agar Town
Do you cover homes near Camden Road station?
Yes. We cover all of Camden and the rest of London. You can message us from the contact page to arrange a design visit.
Do I need permission for fitted furniture in a conservation area?
Typically not: conservation area rules mainly cover the outside of buildings, and fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. If your home is listed, works inside that affect its character can need listed building consent, so check with the council first. The council’s planning or conservation team can tell you if in doubt.
Can you build a wardrobe under a sloping ceiling?
Yes. The wardrobe follows the angle of the ceiling, with hanging where there’s height. It makes the most of the space. We plan it during the design visit.
How long is the fitting for eaves storage?
How long fitting takes depends on how much storage you want in the loft, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. We make the cupboards and drawers in our workshop, so the time at your home is spent fitting. Saturday fitting is possible by prior arrangement.
Which materials go into your loft storage?
We use moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood. Birch plywood gives strength to the carcasses and drawers, and MDF takes paint well for the doors and panels. Everything is finished by spray painting or hand painting.
Can you convert my loft as well?
No. We do not carry out loft conversions. We design and fit storage once the room is in place, from eaves cupboards to wardrobes under the slopes.
Fitting day, step by step
If anything comes up on the day, just ask. The design, materials and finish were settled before anything was made, so fitting day is about putting it in place carefully. The time the fitting takes depends on the shape of the room and the number of cupboards and drawers, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Where there’s no lift, each section is sized to be carried up the stairs safely. The tightest landing sets the largest piece. The pieces are assembled in the flat.
- First we hear about the loft room and what you’d like to store.
- At the design visit, the room and the route up are measured, as everything has to get up there.
- We agree the cupboards, drawers and wardrobes, and send a written quote.
- Every part is built in our workshop, ready for a spray-painted or hand-painted finish. It’s made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- We carry it up, fit it and check every door and drawer with you.
How to prepare

DIY, flat-pack or bespoke
Standard units come in set widths and heights, so there is often a strip of wasted space at the side or above. Fitted furniture is made to the room’s measurements, so it can run to the ceiling and fill the width.
Cost matters, and it is fair to say so: off-the-shelf furniture normally costs less up front. Bespoke earns its place where the room is awkward, space is tight or you want the furniture to look part of the house.
Is it time for loft storage?
Some people want to make more of a dormer. Shelves, a desk or a seat in the dormer make it useful. It adds storage without crowding the room.
Here are some of the needs we are asked about most:
- No wardrobe that fits under the slope
- A loft room that still feels unfinished
- Space under the eaves going to waste
- A dormer that isn’t being used
Living in a block of flats near Camden Road station? Then the route in is measured as well as the room, and the sections are sized to fit it.

- Will the doors close with even gaps?
Loft storage for homes in Agar Town
In the area around Agar Town, the largest groups of homes date from before 1919 (about 36%) and the years since 2000 (about 24%), going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. Each era brings its own kind of wall, ceiling height and floor, so it shapes the design from the first measurement. The centre of Agar Town is within about a quarter of a mile of the Regent's Canal Conservation Area. Conservation area rules mainly cover the outside of buildings, so fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. If in doubt, the council’s planning team can confirm. TfL’s red routes have strict stopping rules. If you live on or close to a main road in Agar Town, let us know during the design visit. That way we can plan where to load and unload.
If your home is one of the older houses near All Saints, eaves cupboards in a converted loft are scribed to slopes that are rarely even. Close to Lewis Cubitt Park? Living near green space often means muddy boots, bikes and outdoor kit, and eaves cupboards can give those things a place.
