Loft storage for your home in St Pancras
Loft storage in St Pancras
Our work is in loft rooms that are already converted, or lofts that are boarded. The conversion itself isn’t our work, and conversions come under Building Regulations. With the room in place, we can plan the storage. In St Pancras, it all begins with a design visit. If you’re living with seasonal things cluttering the loft room and boxes piled on loft boards, that’s what eaves cupboards are for, made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand.
Walls in a block of flats can be concrete, brick, block or plasterboard, sometimes all in one flat. With purpose-built flats home to most households around St Pancras, we check each wall during the design visit before choosing fixings. Storage on a lightweight wall stands on the floor and is fixed back for stability.
A quote in writing is the clearest record of what we’ve agreed. It describes the eaves cupboard we’ve designed for the room, its materials and its finish, and it is what the workshop builds to.

Storage in St Pancras homes: local notes
Homes built before 1919 make up about 41% of the housing in the neighbourhood around St Pancras, with about 19% built since 2000, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how eaves cupboards are fixed and fitted. 13 conservation areas have at least part of their area less than a mile from the middle of St Pancras. England has around 10,000 in all, and their controls are largely about how buildings look from outside. All of London, Camden included, is inside the ULEZ. It applies to the vans that deliver and fit furniture in St Pancras, as it does anywhere else in London. Parking and access are planned at the measuring visit.
If you live in a flat close to London Kings Cross station, the route in is measured not just the room, and the sections are sized to fit it. For a family home near St George the Martyr Church of England Primary School, eaves cupboards can give school bags, shoes and sports kit a proper home.
St Pancras is in the London Borough of Camden. We cover St Pancras as part of our work across Camden. Our Camden coverage includes St Pancras, along with the rest of the borough.
Every home in NW1W, W1T and N1 is within our area for loft storage. You will find streets here such as Shoe Lane, Long Lane and City Road, and homes on each of them are within our area for loft storage. St Pancras is near the A4 and A40; on busy main roads, unloading eaves cupboards takes a little planning. We also cover Bloomsbury (1 mile south-west), Kings Cross (1 mile north-west), Holborn (1 mile south-east), Clerkenwell (1 mile east) and Angel (1 mile north-east). Across the rest of Camden, our area takes in Hampstead (3 miles north-west), West Hampstead (4 miles north-west), Kentish Town (2 miles north-west), Greenhill (3 miles north-west), Chalk Farm (2 miles north-west) and Dartmouth Park (3 miles north-west). St Pancras is among the bigger places we cover in Camden.
Local landmarks in St Pancras
In St Pancras, that includes homes near City Academy, Pilsudski Institute of London and Calthorpe Arms Public House, among other places. The nearest railway station is London Kings Cross station, about 0.5 miles north-west of the centre. A little further out are Foundling Museum (a few minutes’ walk west) and Montfichet's Tower (1.1 miles south-east). Green spaces nearby include Barnsbury Wood and Ludgate Hill.
When is bespoke worth it?
It’s worth being honest about cost: flat-pack is typically cheaper to buy. Bespoke earns its place where the room is awkward, space is tight or you want the furniture to look part of the house.
Flat-pack and off-the-shelf furniture has its place. If the walls are straight and the space suits standard sizes, it often does the job, and it’s quick to buy.
What prompts loft storage in St Pancras
A dormer can feel like wasted space. Built-in furniture in a dormer puts it to work. It adds storage without crowding the room.
Common reasons to get in touch include:
- A sloping ceiling with no room for a wardrobe
- A new loft conversion that needs storage
- An empty dormer that could hold shelves
- Standard furniture that won’t go up the loft stairs
Dr Johnson's House, about 0.9 miles south-east, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. If your own home is a period one, a dormer in a converted loft can hold shelves or a small desk.

FAQs: loft storage in St Pancras
Can parking be tricky on fitting day in St Pancras?
It can be: much of inner London is covered by controlled parking zones. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. Let us know what parking is near you during the design visit.
How do you fit loft storage in a flat in St Pancras?
We measure the route in as well as the room: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. The furniture is made in sections that fit the stairs and lift, and put together in the room. If your building has rules on lift booking or working hours, or your lease needs consent for alterations, it’s worth checking those early.
Can a wardrobe follow a sloping ceiling?
Yes. Bespoke wardrobes are made to the angle of the ceiling. The tall end takes hanging space, and the low end can hold shelves or drawers. It is scribed to the slope and walls.
What if my walls and floors are out of level?
That’s normal in older homes, and it’s what scribing is for. We scribe the edges to follow the wall and set the furniture level on adjustable feet or a plinth.
Do I get to choose the colour?
You do. We agree the colour with you, and it is set out in the quote.
What do you do at the measuring visit?
We take full measurements, look at the walls and floors and work through the design together. We will also ask about access and parking.
Flats, conversions and lettings
Landlords furnishing a let use fitted furniture too, often to make the most of a small or tricky room. The materials are the same as for any home: moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
In a managed block, the building manager or concierge may need notice before we arrive. Lifts sometimes need to be booked, and the lift size helps decide how big each section can be. Tell us about it when you get in touch.
Fitting day, step by step
You won’t need to do much on the day. We need someone to let us in at the start, and it’s useful to have the room cleared beforehand, as we’ll have talked about at the measuring visit. After that, it’s over to us: the floors are covered, the sections come in and the fitting begins. The time the fitting takes depends on the shape of the room and the number of cupboards and drawers, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. Drilling can be heard through the walls and floors of a block, and many buildings limit noisy work to certain hours. Fitting day is planned around any rules your building has. Saturdays can be arranged if your building allows work then.

Advice
Before and after fitting day
Looking after painted furniture is simple. These habits help most:
- Measure the loft stairs, the turns and the landing
- Make room so the whole loft can be measured
- Find out what’s behind the eaves, from insulation to vents
- Count the clothes you will need to hang
Heavy items are best kept in the lower parts of the storage. That keeps the drawers running smoothly. We size the shelves for what you said you’d keep there.
Sharp edges and heavy boxes can chip a painted edge. Put tools in a case so they do not knock the paint. Minor chips can be touched up with the matching colour.
