Yeading Loft Storage
Few London rooms are perfectly square, and we scribe the furniture to follow the walls. We make loft storage for homes in Yeading, each designed at a visit to your home.
- A new loft conversion that needs storage
- A boarded loft with no proper shelving
- Standard furniture that won’t go up the loft stairs

Your questions about loft storage in Yeading
Can you fit furniture in a home close to Southall station?
Yes, homes across Hillingdon and the rest of London are within the area we cover. To get started, you can send us a few details through our contact form with a few details about the room, and tell us about parking and access at the same time.
Do you make loft storage for homes in Yeading?
Yes. Yeading is one of the places we work, along with the rest of Hillingdon and London. To get started, you can drop us a line using the contact form with a few details.
Which materials go into your loft storage?
We use moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood. The carcasses and drawer boxes are birch plywood, which is strong and holds screws well, while the doors and panels are MDF, which paints well. The finish is spray-painted or hand-painted.
Do you carry out loft conversions?
No, we build storage in lofts that are already converted or boarded. Loft conversions are building work, with Building Regulations to follow. When the room is finished, we can plan the storage.
Can you fit furniture to uneven walls?
Walls and floors that aren’t true are part of the job in older homes. We trim the edges to follow the wall and level the base.
Do pictures help?
Yes, they help. A few pictures of the room, from floor to ceiling, tell us a lot, especially with rough sizes. To send them, drop us a line using the contact form.
How we make loft storage for Yeading
Loft stairs are often narrow and steep, with tight turns. At the design visit, we measure the stairs and landings as well as the loft, so the sections we make in our workshop can be carried up. It is part of the job for any loft room in Yeading. We make eaves cupboards from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted, and people most often get in touch about standard furniture that won’t go up the loft stairs and a loft room that doubles as an office or guest room.
Homes from the 1950s and 1960s usually have plain, regular rooms, so fitted storage can be crisp and simple to match. Around Yeading, many homes were built between 1945 and the early 1970s. We still measure everything, as no room is perfectly square.
Where other trades are needed, for instance an electrician to move a socket, we point that out. Our quote covers the carpentry: the design, the materials and the finish.

Boards, parts and paint
Plinths and scribe strips
The floor in a loft room is rarely perfectly level. A plinth or adjustable feet let us set the storage level, so everything opens and closes as it should.
Hand-painted finish
Hand painting on site lets the storage be finished alongside the woodwork around it. Marks can be touched in without much trouble. Paint needs time to cure fully, so treat it gently at first.
Could you do it yourself?
The real difference is in the fit: scribed edges, a level base on an uneven floor and furniture that meets the ceiling, skirting and picture rail. Off-the-shelf furniture can’t typically do that in an older room.
Flat-pack and off-the-shelf furniture has its place. In a room with square walls and standard sizes, it can work well, and it’s easy to buy.
Loft storage in Yeading: local notes
In the neighbourhood around Yeading, the largest groups of homes date from between 1945 and 1972 (about 45%) and between 1973 and 1999 (about 27%), on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. It’s a good starting point, though every room is still measured, as two homes of the same age rarely match. Entries on the National Heritage List near the centre of Yeading include White Hart Public House (Grade II), about 0.5 miles north. For a listed home, internal works that affect its character may need listed building consent from the council, for example removing or fixing into original panelling. Ask the council’s conservation officer before anything is fixed. On TfL’s red routes, the rules on stopping and loading are strict. If your street in Yeading joins a main road, it is worth telling us at the design visit. Then we can work out where to load and unload.
Northolt Manor, about 1.4 miles north-east, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. If your own home is a period one, sloping ceilings in a loft room suit wardrobes cut to the angle. If you live in a flat close to Southall station, each piece is planned so it can be carried up and joined together in the room. If your home is one of the older houses near St Joseph the Worker & Dovetail Centre, the knee walls of a converted loft can take drawers as well as cupboards.
Yeading is about 3 miles north of Ruislip, in the London Borough of Hillingdon. Anywhere in Yeading, the process is the same: a design visit, a quote in writing, furniture built in our workshop and fitting in your home. In Hillingdon, Yeading is one of the places we cover.

How we price loft storage
There’s no set price, because there is no set room. The things that affect it are:
- Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
- The width and height of the space
- What goes inside: rails, shelves, drawers and dividers
- Doors and drawers, and how many
Access to the room makes a difference too. Several flights of stairs, a small lift or a narrow hall can mean smaller sections and more carrying, and that is part of the price. Prices are quoted for your room, once we’ve measured and talked through the design.
Before the design visit
There’s no need for exact sizes or plans. It’s enough to send:
- Photos of the whole wall or room, including the floor and ceiling
- Radiators, sockets, pipes or meters on or near the wall
- Examples of the look you are after
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
There’s no price list: each design is priced in writing after we’ve seen the space. Because every room is different, the quote comes after the design visit. To arrange a visit, fill in our short enquiry form.
How fitting day works
Getting everything level comes first. Where the floor slopes, we bring the furniture up to level on adjustable feet or a plinth. Only then is it fixed to the wall, with fixings chosen to suit brick, lath and plaster or plasterboard. Post-war homes often have concrete or block walls, so fixings are chosen for the wall on fitting day. Floors and doorways are protected while the sections come in, and the pieces are assembled in the room.
- First you let us know about the loft room and what you’d like to store there.
- We visit to measure the eaves and slopes and talk through the design, including the headroom under the slope.
- We send a quote in writing setting out the design, materials and finish.
- Your storage is made at our workshop and painted to your chosen colour.
- We fit it in your home, scribed to the slopes and the walls.
Before we arrive
- Have your electrician move any sockets or switches beforehand
- Move anything in the hall or on the stairs out of the way
- Check the building’s rules for trades and lift bookings
Getting a quote
To get a quote, message us from the contact page and tell us a little about the room and what you want the furniture to do. From there, we arrange a design visit to measure up and talk through your ideas, and a quote in writing follows.
