Kentish Town Bespoke Kitchens
In Kentish Town, we design bespoke kitchens around the room you actually have. We design your kitchen at a visit to your home, make it in our workshop and fit it.
- A painted kitchen in a colour you choose
- Spaces sized for your oven and fridge
- Cabinets for a narrow kitchen

What prompts bespoke kitchens in Kentish Town
Others want the kitchen to suit the age of the house. A painted kitchen with a dresser can feel at home in an older room and suit the house’s character.
Here’s what bespoke kitchens can help with:
- Cabinets built around the appliances you choose
- A kitchen that fits an uneven room
- Spray-painted or hand-painted cabinets
- A larder for food and small appliances
If you live near Primrose Hill, a cupboard by the back door for boots and coats can be built in with the kitchen.
Choosing a carpenter
- Have they measured the stairs, lift and doorways?
- Whether the quote says what the furniture is made from
- Is it spray painted or hand painted?
- How the doors are hung and adjusted
About our bespoke kitchens in Kentish Town
A bespoke kitchen is built around the room you have. Every unit is sized from careful measurements taken during the design visit, so there are no filler panels covering awkward gaps. You decide the layout, the storage and the colour with us, and the kitchen is made at our workshop before it’s fitted. We make kitchens from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish, and the things people most often want solved are a dresser that suits a period house and a kitchen planned around your appliances.
Pipes, risers and meter cupboards in a flat kitchen can’t normally be moved. Since most households around Kentish Town live in purpose-built flats, the cabinets are planned around those fixed points, keeping access where it is needed. Plumbing and electrics are for your plumber and electrician.
If the job needs another trade, such as an electrician or a plumber, we’ll tell you, so it can be arranged before fitting day. The quote itself covers our work, from the design to the materials and finish.

Bespoke kitchens for homes in Kentish Town
The biggest shares of homes in the neighbourhood around Kentish Town were built before 1919 (about 43%) and between 1945 and 1972 (about 21%), on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how kitchens are fixed and fitted. 22 conservation areas have at least part of their area less than a mile from the middle of Kentish Town. England has around 10,000 in all, and their controls are mostly concerned with the outside of buildings, so fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. About 26% of households in the neighbourhood around Kentish Town live in flats in converted or shared houses, according to Census 2021. Conversions often leave rooms in unusual shapes, with partition walls, boxed-in pipes and chimney breasts in odd places, and the route in may go through a shared hall and stairs. If your flat is leasehold, check your lease before anything is fixed to the walls.
For an older house near Church of the Holy Trinity with St Barnabas, a narrow back addition or an old chimney breast may shape the kitchen layout. If you live in a flat close to Kentish Town West station, the lift, the stair turns and the front door all set the largest piece that can come in.

How it’s made
Doors and drawer fronts
Door style makes a big difference to the look, from simple flat fronts to framed doors.
Hand-painted finish
A hand-painted kitchen can be refreshed over time.
Flats, conversions and lettings
In a managed block, the building manager or concierge may need notice before we arrive. If there is a lift, it may need booking, and its size matters when we plan the sections. Mention it when you get in touch.
For a rented home, access for the design visit and fitting day has to be agreed with the tenants. An agent can arrange access for you.
Questions from Kentish Town
Will parking be an issue for fitting furniture in Kentish Town?
It can be: much of inner London is covered by controlled parking zones. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the measuring visit.
Is Kentish Town in the area you cover for bespoke kitchens?
Yes. Kentish Town is one of the places we work, along with the rest of Camden and London. You can fill in our short enquiry form to arrange a design visit.
Do you work on Saturdays?
Yes, by prior arrangement. If a Saturday works better for you, say so when you contact us.
What if the stairs or lift are small?
It’s made in sections, sized for the route along with the room itself. That’s why we measure the stairs, lift and doorways at the measuring visit.
Do I get to choose the colour?
You choose it. The paint colour is agreed with you, and it is set out in the quote.
Which worktops and appliances can I have?
We plan the kitchen around the worktop, sink and appliances you choose. It helps to choose them before the design is final, and your quote sets out what’s included.
Fitting day, step by step
There is not much for you to do on fitting day. We need someone to let us in at the start, and it helps to have the room cleared beforehand. From there, we protect the floors, bring the furniture in and get on with the fitting. How long the fitting takes depends on the size of the kitchen and the design, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. In a block without a lift, every section goes up the stairs, so it is sized to be manageable. The tightest landing sets the largest piece. Once inside, the sections are joined and fixed.
- You get in touch and let us know about the room and how you cook.
- We visit to measure the room and go through the layout, the storage and where the appliances will sit.
- A quote in writing follows for the cabinets, materials and finish.
- We build the cabinets, doors and drawer fronts in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- We fit the cabinets in your home, working around your plumber, your electrician and an engineer on the Gas Safe Register.
Before we arrive
- Clear the hallway and stairs so the sections can come through
- Make sure pets are kept safely away
- Have your electrician move any sockets or switches beforehand
Getting a quote
The price comes in a written quote, worked out from the measurements and the design you choose. Because every room is different, the quote comes after the design visit, when we’ve measured up and talked through the design. To arrange a visit, drop us a line using the contact form.
