How we make bespoke kitchens for Stonebridge Park

We make the cabinets; the worktop, sink and appliances are the ones you choose. We plan each space around the appliances you have chosen, from the oven housing to the dishwasher. The materials and finish are agreed in your quote. Most enquiries start with making the most of a galley kitchen and open shelves with cupboards below, and the answer is made at our workshop from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted.

In newer homes, the washing machine is often in the kitchen, with no utility room, so laundry and cleaning things need a place in the kitchen. Many homes around Stonebridge Park date from 2000 onwards. Plumbing for appliances is for your plumber.

Materials are named in the quote: moisture-resistant MDF, birch plywood or both, depending on the design. The finish is stated too, whether that is spray painting or hand painting.

What affects the cost of bespoke kitchens

Not every room costs the same, for these reasons:

  • Access to the room, like stairs, lifts and narrow halls
  • The finish: spray painted or hand painted
  • Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside
  • The number of doors and drawers

Tricky rooms take more time: walls that lean, floors that slope and sloping ceilings all mean more scribing and cutting. The quote allows for it.

Helping us understand the room

The more you can tell us at the start, the better the design visit goes. When you get in touch, it helps to send:

  • Any ideas or images you have saved
  • What you’d like to store or use the space for
  • Photos of the whole wall or room, including the floor and ceiling
  • Approximate measurements of the space

A quote begins with some details from you: the room, rough measurements and some pictures if you have them. When you’re ready, send us a few details through our contact form. We’ll then arrange a design visit and follow it with a written quote.

Common questions about bespoke kitchens

Can you fit furniture in a home close to Stonebridge Park station?

Yes. We cover all of Brent and the rest of London. You can use our contact form to arrange a design visit.

I live in a flat in Stonebridge Park. How will the furniture get up the stairs?

We measure the route in not just the room: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. The furniture is made in sections that fit the stairs and lift, and put together in the room. If your building has rules on lift booking or working hours, or your lease needs consent for alterations, it is worth checking those early.

Can you fit cabinets to walls that aren’t straight?

Yes, it is something we deal with all the time. Few walls in a period house are straight, so we scribe and level every cabinet.

Can you fit furniture on an external wall?

It can be done with some care: ventilation behind and inside the furniture helps avoid condensation and mould. Damp treatment is not something we do, so any damp needs sorting first.

What does a bespoke kitchen cost?

There’s no price list: each design is priced in writing after we’ve seen the space. Size, layout and finish all affect the price. For a design visit, send us a few details through our contact form.

What finishes do you offer?

There are two ways to finish it: by spray or by hand. A spray finish is smooth and even, while a hand-painted one is easy to touch up later.

Flats, blocks and rented homes

Leaseholders should check the lease before anything is fixed to the walls. A lease can require consent from the building owner for alterations, and that is best sorted before fitting day. We cannot give advice on leases.

In conversions and newer blocks, many internal walls are timber or metal stud with plasterboard. We choose fixings to suit the wall.

Kitchens in Stonebridge Park homes

In the neighbourhood around Stonebridge Park, the largest groups of homes date from the years since 2000 (about 50%) and between 1919 and 1939 (about 24%), going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. It’s a good starting point, though every room is still measured, as two homes of the same age rarely match. Part of Stonebridge Park is in a conservation area, according to Historic England’s records. The controls in a conservation area are mostly about the outside of buildings, so furniture fitted inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. If in doubt, the council’s planning team can confirm. Controlled parking zones are common across London, and Brent sets its own rules. Depending on your street in Stonebridge Park, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a council bay suspension may be needed. Let us know about parking during the design visit.

Living in a block of flats near Stonebridge Park station? Then it’s useful to book the lift and tell the concierge before fitting day. The wider area includes historic houses such as Pitzhanger Manor, about 2.8 miles south-west. If your own home is a period one, tall ceilings can take larder cupboards right up to the top.

  • Extra cupboard space

Caring for painted furniture

Painted fitted furniture is easy to look after with a little care. These habits help most:

  • Talk to your other trades in good time
  • Allow space to walk round an island
  • Check stairs, hallways and lifts for access
  • Think about how you cook and what you store

Don’t leave water sitting on painted cabinets, particularly near the sink. Moisture-resistant MDF copes well, but standing water is best avoided.

Measure the route into the kitchen as well as the room. Workshop-made furniture comes in sections sized for stairs, hallways and lifts, so let us know about any narrow spots.

What happens on fitting day

You’re welcome to ask questions while we work. Most of the decisions were made at the measuring visit and set out in your quote, so fitting day is about putting it in place carefully. How long the fitting takes depends on the kitchen’s size and how many other trades are involved, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Stud walls can carry pipes and cables, so we check before drilling, and heavy pieces are fixed into the studs or stand on the floor. Other trades handle any new sockets or plumbing.

  1. First, you let us know about the room.
  2. We visit, measure and discuss the layout, larder, dresser or island.
  3. You receive a written quote, setting out the cabinets, materials and finish.
  4. The kitchen is made at our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
  5. The cabinets are fitted in your home, with plumbing, gas and electrics by your plumber, a Gas Safe engineer and your electrician. It is useful to have those trades booked in good time.

Before we arrive

  • Take down pictures, mirrors and shelves from the wall
  • Move furniture and belongings away from the wall
  • Move anything in the hall or on the stairs out of the way

Ask for a quote

You do not need exact measurements to get started. Everything is measured properly when we visit, including how level the floor and ceiling are. To arrange it, drop us a line using the contact form and tell us about the room. You receive a written quote after the visit.
