Bespoke Kitchens in Queen's Park
In Queen's Park, we design bespoke kitchens around the room you actually have. We design your kitchen at a visit to your home, make it in our workshop and fit it.

About our bespoke kitchens in Queen's Park
Some kitchens suit a dresser, with cupboards below and open shelves above, and in a period house it can look as if it has always been there. Each dresser is made for its wall and finished to match the rest of the kitchen. We make kitchens from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted, and people most often get in touch about cabinets that suit lean and sloping walls and a kitchen island with room around it.
An older kitchen often has a sash window and a back door, which fix where things can go. With a large share of the homes around Queen's Park built before 1919, the cabinets are planned around the windows and doors you have. Your plumber connects the sink where the design puts it. The worktop, sink and appliances are your choice.
A written quote is the clearest record of what we have agreed. It describes the kitchen we have designed for the room, its materials and its finish, and it’s what the workshop builds to.

What happens on fitting day
You’re welcome to ask questions while we work. The design, materials and finish were settled before anything was made, so fitting day is about putting it in place carefully and leaving everything tidy. How long the fitting takes depends on the kitchen’s size and how many other trades are involved, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. Original hallway tiles and old floorboards are worth protecting, so they’re covered before anything comes in. Drilling into lath and plaster is done with care, so the plaster around stays sound. Any decorating around the new pieces is for your decorator.
- You get in touch and let us know about the room and how you cook.
- We visit to measure the room and go through the layout, the storage and where the appliances will sit.
- A quote in writing follows for the cabinets, materials and finish.
- We build the cabinets, doors and drawer fronts in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- We fit the cabinets in your home, working around your plumber, your electrician and a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Before fitting day
- Let us know where the boiler and meters are
- Get any new sockets or wiring done by your electrician before fitting day
- Tell us about parking near your home
Arranging a design visit
We quote once we’ve seen the room. At the visit, we measure, look at the walls and floors and discuss the design with you, and the written quote comes after. We quote each job for the room it’s going into, after the design visit. To arrange a visit, use our contact form.

Flats, conversions and leaseholders
For flats on red routes or busy main roads, unloading takes some planning. TfL runs the red routes, and the stopping rules are strict, so it’s worth raising at the measuring visit.
In conversions and newer blocks, many internal walls are timber or metal stud with plasterboard. We choose fixings to suit the wall, which we check at the design visit.
Honest limits
Our work is the furniture itself: designing it, making it in our workshop and fitting it. That means:
- Moving water or waste pipes
- New sockets or circuits
- Painting the walls around the kitchen
If you are not sure what’s possible in your room, you can tell us about the room on our contact form and we will give you a straight answer before you arrange a visit. How a job runs, step by step.
What goes into it
- Spray-painted finish
- Islands where space allows
- Larders and dressers
- Birch plywood
- Moisture-resistant MDF
- Hand-painted finish
Practical tips
Looking after painted furniture is simple. These habits help most:
- Mention any parking or lift rules
- Deal with damp walls first
- Give the paint time to cure fully
- Line up your plumber, electrician and Gas Safe registered engineer early
Let steam escape when you cook, as steam settling on cabinets over time is not good for any finish. Ventilation helps the whole kitchen.
Line up your other trades in good time. The pipes, cables and gas supply need to suit the layout, and it is easier when everyone works from the same design.
Questions we’re often asked
Do I need permission for fitted furniture in a conservation area?
Not normally. Conservation area controls are mainly about the outside of buildings, so fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. Listed buildings are different, as works inside that affect their character may need listed building consent from the council. The council’s planning or conservation team can tell you if in doubt.
Is parking a problem for fitting in Queen's Park?
It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. It helps to let us know about parking during the design visit, so the day can be planned around it.
What does a bespoke kitchen cost?
The price comes in a written quote, worked out from the measurements and the design you choose. The size of the room, the number of units and the finish all make a difference. To arrange a design visit, drop us a line using the contact form.
What if the stairs or lift are small?
Getting it in is planned during the design visit. We measure the stairs, landings, lift and doors, and the furniture is made in sections sized to get through.
Do you do the plumbing and electrics?
No. We’re carpenters, so we make and fit the cabinets. Your plumber, a Gas Safe registered engineer and your electrician do the plumbing, gas and electrics, and we design around where their work goes.
Is the furniture spray painted or hand painted?
There are two choices: a spray finish from the workshop, which is smooth and even, or hand painting, which can be done in your home. The finish is agreed in your quote.

Bespoke kitchens in Queen's Park: local notes
Homes built before 1919 make up about 63% of the housing in the streets around Queen's Park, with about 13% built between 1973 and 1999, in the VOA’s 2025 council tax stock figures. Knowing roughly when a home was built helps, because walls and fixings change from one era to the next. 9 conservation areas have at least part of their area less than a mile from the middle of Queen's Park. Historic England says England has around 10,000, and the controls mainly cover the outside of buildings. More than half of the homes in the area around Queen's Park (about 63%) were built before 1919, on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. Kitchens in houses of that age often sit in a narrow back addition, with walls and floors that aren’t true, so cabinets are scribed and levelled on site.
The wider area includes historic houses like Winfield House, about 1.7 miles east. For a period home anywhere nearby, tall ceilings can take larder cupboards right up to the top. If your children go to St Luke's CofE Primary School or a school nearby, planning a kitchen around family routines, with a place for school things, pays off. Close to Queen’s Park? A tall cupboard for outdoor things can be part of the kitchen design.
Queen's Park is part of the London Borough of Brent, about 1 mile north of Kilburn. Wherever you are in Queen's Park, the process is the same: we visit and measure, send a written quote, make the furniture in our workshop and fit it. In Brent, Queen's Park is one of the places we cover.
We make bespoke kitchens across NW6, W9 and W10 for bespoke kitchens. Local landmarks in Queen's Park
We fit furniture in homes around The Brondesbury Arms, St Augustine's Church of England High School and Maida Vale School and the streets around them. There’s a railway station in Queen's Park itself: Queens Park (London) station. A little further out are Paddington General Hospital (0.8 miles south) and O2 Centre (1.3 miles north-east). Not far away are Greville Place nature reserve.
How it’s made
Birch plywood
Long kitchen shelves can sag under plates and jars, and birch plywood helps.
Plinths and scribe strips
We use plinths and adjustable feet to level the units on a sloping floor. Scribe strips close the gap to a wall that isn’t straight.
