What affects the price in Wembley Park

A few things affect what fitted furniture costs:

  • Parking and unloading on your street
  • How many doors and drawers there are
  • Stairs, lifts and the route to the room
  • The overall size of the piece

Your quote is written for your room once we’ve visited and measured. Size, the number of doors and drawers and the internal fittings make the biggest difference to the price.

Helping us understand the room

Here’s what helps us most when you contact us:

  • What you’d like to store or use the space for
  • The type of home and how the room is reached
  • Rough sizes, even if they’re only to the nearest few centimetres
  • Pictures of the whole wall or room, including the floor and ceiling

Rough sizes are fine at the start. We measure everything properly during the design visit. To get started, get in touch through our contact form with a few details about the room. The written quote follows the visit.

Fitted cupboards in Wembley Park: what you get

We build each fitted cupboard for the space it will live in. It runs from the floor to the ceiling, or to whatever height suits the spot, and it is trimmed to the walls so there are no tricky gaps. Hallways, landings, utility rooms, boot rooms and alcoves all make good homes for one, with the inside planned around what you want to store. If your home has tall cupboards where space is short and boxing in a boiler with room for servicing, fitted cupboards made from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted can solve it.

A large number of homes around Wembley Park date from 2000 onwards, and in London many homes of that age are flats in newer developments. Where a boiler or cylinder sits in a cupboard, the design keeps the clearances its maker sets out. Shallow cupboards suit narrow halls, so the hallway still feels open.

The written quote is your record of the job. It describes the fitted cupboard we’ve designed for the room, its materials and its finish.

Looking after your furniture

Looking after painted furniture is simple. A few things help it stay looking good:

  • Tell us about parking at the design visit
  • Don’t store things against the boiler
  • Have damp sorted before fitting
  • Check stairs, landings and doorways for access

Hand-painted finishes are easy to touch up. Spray-painted finishes are smooth and even, and small marks can often be cleaned off with a soft cloth. It is worth keeping a record of the colour.

If there’s damp on a wall, have it sorted before we fit. Damp behind a cupboard can lead to mould, particularly on a colder external wall. We can allow for ventilation where it’s needed.

What happens on fitting day

However carefully a piece is made in the workshop, it still has to meet the room, and fitting day is where that happens. Few walls in older London homes are truly flat or square, so each edge that meets a wall is scribed to follow it. How long the fitting itself takes depends on the number of cupboards and the space they fit into, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Newer homes often have stud walls, so fixings go into the studs or use fixings made for the board. Floors are protected throughout, as many newer homes have finished floors that mark easily.

  1. You let us know where the cupboards should go.
  2. We visit to measure up and go through the design.
  3. You receive a quote in writing covering the design, materials and finish.
  4. We make the cupboards in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
  5. We fit the cupboards and trim the edges to follow the walls and ceiling.
  6. Your finish is sprayed beforehand or painted by hand on site; go gently with it at first while it cures.

Preparing the room

  • Take anything hanging off the wall we are fitting to
  • Point out meters, boilers and fuse boards near the furniture
  • Mention any parking restrictions on your street

Ask for a quote

If you know what you want, say so; if not, we can work it out together at the visit. At the design visit, we measure up and talk the design through with you, and the written quote then sets it out. To start, get in touch through our contact form.

Flat-pack or bespoke?

What you pay for with bespoke is mainly the fit: edges scribed to the wall, a level base on a sloping floor and a neat line where the furniture meets the ceiling. In an older room, standard units rarely manage that.

Bespoke work comes into its own in rooms that are not square. In period homes, walls lean, floors slope and the alcoves on each side are often different widths.

Wembley Park homes and fitted cupboards

About 57% of the homes in the area around Wembley Park went up since 2000, and about 29% between 1919 and 1939, going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how fitted cupboards are fixed and fitted. Wembley Park is partly covered by a conservation area, according to Historic England’s records. The controls in a conservation area are mostly about the outside of buildings, so furniture fitted inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. The council can confirm if you are not sure. A quarter or more of the homes in the area around Wembley Park (about 29%) date from between 1919 and 1939, going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. Houses of that era often have a hallway wide enough for a coat and shoe cupboard, and a box room that can take more storage.

For families living near Michaela Community School, deep drawers suit the bulky things families collect, from scooters to swimming kit. Close to St. Raphael's Edible Garden? Living near green space often means muddy boots, bikes and outdoor kit, and fitted cupboards can give those things a place. If your home is as old as some of the listed buildings nearby, like Brent Town Hall, original features like shutters, panelling and fireplaces are worth designing around. For a listed home, fixing into original features can require listed building consent.

Boards, parts and paint

Plinths and scribe strips

Plinths and scribe strips are small parts that make a big difference in a room where nothing is quite square.

Doors and drawer fronts

In a narrow hallway, the way doors open matters, so the doors clear the walls and stairs.
