Bespoke kitchens for homes in Wembley Park

Many people want a tall larder for food, tins and small appliances. A larder can have shelves, deep drawers and racks, planned around what you store. In an alcove or at the end of a run, it can use space that would otherwise be wasted. We make kitchens from birch plywood and moisture-resistant MDF with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish, and people most often get in touch about spaces sized for your oven and fridge and more storage in a small kitchen.

Many homes around Wembley Park have been built since 2000, and newer homes typically have open-plan kitchens. Cabinets can be designed for the open space, with an island if the room allows. Stud walls need wall cabinets fixed into the studs or with suitable fixings.

Once you have read the quote and decided to go ahead, the furniture is made in our workshop. It describes the design, the materials and the finish agreed at the visit, so you can check every detail beforehand.

Questions we’re often asked

Do you make bespoke kitchens for homes in Wembley Park?

Yes, Wembley Park is within the area we cover, which takes in all of Brent and the rest of London. We start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need, and then we send a quote.

Do you cover homes near Wembley Stadium station?

Yes, homes across Brent and the rest of London are within the area we cover. You can send us a few details through our contact form to arrange a design visit, and let us know about parking and access at the same time.

Do I get to choose the colour?

You do. We agree the colour with you.

Do you handle the gas and electrics for the kitchen?

No, that work is for other trades. Plumbing, gas and electrics are for your plumber, an engineer on the Gas Safe Register and your electrician, and we fit the cabinets.

Do I need planning permission for fitted furniture?

Not usually. Conservation area controls are mainly about the outside of buildings, and furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need it. Listed buildings are different: check with the council’s conservation officer first.

What are the kitchen cabinets made of?

MDF for smooth painted parts and birch plywood for drawer boxes and shelves. We spray paint in the workshop or hand paint, in colours you choose.

What affects the price in Wembley Park

Prices vary from room to room, for these reasons:

  • The overall size of the piece
  • Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside
  • Doors and drawers, and how many
  • Parking near your home

There’s no price list: each design is priced in writing after we’ve seen the space. The price depends mainly on the size of the piece, how many doors and drawers it has and what goes inside.

Before the design visit

These details help when you contact us:

  • Rough sizes, even if they’re only to the nearest few centimetres
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • How you want to use the space
  • Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around

Photos help us understand the room before we visit. A few pictures showing the walls, the corners and where the ceiling meets them give us a good feel for the space, along with rough sizes. To share them, send us a few details through our contact form, and we’ll suggest a time for a design visit.

Wembley Park homes and bespoke kitchens

About 57% of the homes in the area around Wembley Park went up since 2000, and about 29% between 1919 and 1939, in the VOA’s 2025 council tax stock figures. It’s a good starting point, though every room is still measured, as two homes of the same age rarely match. Near the centre of Wembley Park, Historic England’s list includes Brent Town Hall (Grade II), less than half a mile north-east, and Wembley Hill Lodge (Grade II), about 0.5 miles south-west. Works inside a listed home that affect its character, for instance removing original joinery or fixing into it, can require listed building consent from the council. The council’s conservation officer is the person to ask before work starts. About 53% of households in the neighbourhood around Wembley Park live in purpose-built flats, the 2021 Census shows. For a flat, kitchens are made in sections sized for the stairs, the lift and the doors. Building management rules on lifts, deliveries and working hours are worth checking early.

Close to St. Raphael's Edible Garden? A tall cupboard for outdoor things can be part of the kitchen design. Living in a block of flats near Wembley Stadium station? Then the route in is measured not just the room, and the sections are sized to fit it. If your children go to Michaela Community School or a school nearby, planning a kitchen around family routines, with a place for school things, pays off.

What happens on fitting day

When we arrive on fitting day, the first job is covering the floors and protecting the way in from the front door. The sections made in our workshop come in next. How long fitting takes depends on the kitchen’s size and how many other trades are involved, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. In a newer development, the lift, the concierge and set working hours may all need checking, so it’s useful to sort them out in advance. The furniture is built in sections that fit the lift and doorways.

  1. First, you let us know about the room. Say a little about the way you cook.
  2. The design visit covers measuring and planning the layout, where space allows.
  3. You receive a quote in writing.
  4. The kitchen is built in our workshop.
  5. The cabinets are fitted in your home, with plumbing, gas and electrics by your plumber, an engineer on the Gas Safe Register and your electrician.

Getting ready for fitting day

  • Book any lift and let the concierge or building manager know
  • Mention any parking restrictions on your street
  • Clear the hallway and stairs so the sections can come through

Starting with a design visit

We quote once we’ve seen the room. We measure the space, check the walls and floors and discuss what you’d like, then send a quote in writing. We quote each job for the room it’s going into, after the design visit. To book a design visit, get in touch through our contact form.

What it is made from

Plinths and scribe strips

In a period kitchen, where nothing is quite level, plinths and scribe strips do a lot of quiet work.

Hand-painted finish

A hand-painted kitchen can be refreshed over time.

Why bespoke in Wembley Park?

Larders, dressers and tall cupboards are hard to find in standard sizes that suit an older room. We can build them to fit, with the same finish as the cabinets. Newer homes often have compact rooms where standard furniture leaves awkward gaps, while fitted furniture is made to the room. It can also be planned around boxed-in pipes and risers.

The finish affects the cost: spray painting is done in the workshop, while hand painting can be done on site. Your choice, along with the size and the fittings, is reflected in the written quote.

What bespoke kitchens cannot fix

As carpenters, we leave some work to other trades. It is useful to know these before you plan the job:

  • Connecting sinks, taps and dishwashers
  • Electrics, sockets and lighting (your electrician)
  • Gas work, which is for a Gas Safe registered engineer

If you’re not sure what’s possible in your room, you can drop us a line using the contact form and we’ll give you a straight answer before you arrange a visit. How it works.
