Pricing fitted home offices in Brent Park
Prices vary from room to room, and it comes down to:
- How many doors and drawers there are
- The width and height of the space
- Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside
- Access to the room, like stairs, lifts and narrow halls
What goes inside matters as much as the outside: rails, shelves, drawers and dividers all add work. At the design visit, we work out what you need inside.
What to send when you contact us
A little information at the start saves time later. Where you can, include:
- Pictures of styles you like, if you have any
- How you want to use the space
- Pictures of the whole wall or room, including the floor and ceiling
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
To get a quote, fill in our short enquiry form and tell us a little about the room and roughly what you’d like. From there, we arrange a design visit to measure up and talk through your ideas, and a quote in writing follows.
Fitted home offices in Brent Park: what you get
Not every home has a spare room, but a wide landing or a loft room can work. A desk under a sloping ceiling needs careful planning so you can sit and stand comfortably. On a landing, the furniture must leave a clear way past. At the design visit in Brent Park, we’ll see what fits. We make home offices from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand, and the things people most often want solved are a screen that’s hard to read by the window and a spare room that has to be an office and a guest room.
In a house with several bedrooms, the question is often which room works best as an office. Interwar houses, semis and detached homes make up much of the housing around Brent Park, and they can offer a choice of rooms. Daylight, quiet and where the broadband arrives are worth weighing up. The design visit is a good time to discuss the options.
We write quotes in plain English, without jargon. You’ll see what will be made, the boards used and the finish, taken from what we agreed at the visit.

Fitting day, step by step
Period rooms often have skirting boards, picture rails, cornices or coving for the furniture to meet. We cut and scribe the furniture around them on site, so it sits neatly against the room. How long fitting takes depends on the layout and how many pieces make up the office, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Interwar houses usually have a straight run of stairs and a reasonable hallway, but the route in is still measured, not just the room. Home offices arrive in sections and are assembled in place, with floors protected throughout.
- You tell us how you work and where you’d like the office.
- At the design visit, the room is measured and the layout planned.
- The design is agreed and a quote in writing follows.
- The office is made in our workshop and painted in your colour.
- We fit it in your home and check every drawer and door with you.
Preparing the room
- Move anything in the hall or on the stairs out of the way
- Take down pictures, mirrors and shelves from the wall
- Let us know if your street is in a controlled parking zone

FAQs: fitted home offices in Brent Park
Is Brent Park in the area you cover for fitted home offices?
Yes, we work across Brent, Brent Park included, and across the rest of London. You can get in touch through our contact form to arrange a design visit.
I live near Stonebridge Park station. Is that in your area?
Yes. We cover all of Brent and the rest of London. You can tell us about the room on our contact form to arrange a design visit, and tell us about parking and access at the same time.
Do I need to be at home on fitting day?
We need someone to let us in. It’s good to have someone there at the end to look over the work with us.
How long will the home office fitting take?
How long the fitting takes depends on the layout and how many pieces make up the office, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Because everything is built in our workshop, the work in your home is the fitting itself. We keep the room as tidy as possible while we work.
Can you fit a desk under a sloping ceiling?
Yes, where the loft has already been converted. The desk is placed where there is headroom to sit and stand comfortably, with storage built into the lower parts of the slope. We do not carry out loft conversions.
Is the furniture spray painted or hand painted?
You can choose between two finishes: by spray or by hand. Spray painting gives a smooth, even finish, and hand painting is easy to touch up.
Do you need fitted home offices in Brent Park?
An alcove, a landing or a space under the eaves can often take a desk. Standard desks seldom fit an alcove or a slope. A built-in desk makes the space useful.
If any of these sound familiar, it’s worth getting in touch:
- Work things on show in the evening
- Glare from a window on the screen
- Working at the kitchen table
- An tricky space with no furniture that fits
If you live near St. Raphael's Edible Garden, a desk placed to make the most of daylight makes a big difference to a working day.
Choosing a carpenter
- How doors and drawers are fitted
- Are the boards named, like MDF or plywood?
- Is it spray painted or hand painted?
- Have they measured the stairs, lift and doorways?
DIY, flat-pack or bespoke
Long shelves are where off-the-shelf often struggles. How much a shelf bends depends on its span, depth and load, and long runs need a thicker shelf, a lip along the front or a support. That’s something we plan for in the design.
It is worth being honest about cost: flat-pack is typically cheaper to buy. Bespoke earns its place where the room is awkward, space is tight or you want the furniture to look part of the house.
Fitted home offices in Brent Park: local notes
About 34% of the homes in the neighbourhood around Brent Park went up between 1919 and 1939, and about 27% since 2000, in the VOA’s 2025 council tax stock figures. We take that into account at the measuring visit, since older and newer walls take different fixings. Entries on the National Heritage List near the centre of Brent Park include Church of St Mary (Grade II*), about 0.5 miles south-east. Listing covers the inside of a building as well as the outside, so works that affect a listed home’s character, like removing original joinery, may need listed building consent. Ask the council’s conservation officer before anything is fixed. About 27% of homes in the area around Brent Park were built since 2000, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). In homes built since 2000, the spare room is often small and has to do two jobs, so a desk that closes away helps.
For a family home near Mitchell Brook Primary School, a desk long enough for two can serve a laptop and a homework book side by side. If you live in a flat close to Stonebridge Park station, each piece is planned so it can be carried up and joined together in the room.

Practical tips
Because fitted furniture stays put, a little upkeep goes a long way. A few pointers help:
- Let us know about parking near your home
- Note what sits on and around your desk
- Measure your chair and how much room you need behind it
- Bring paint colours you like to the design visit
Small marks on a hand-painted finish can be touched in. Keep a note of the colour for later. Should you have a question about the office, drop us a line using the contact form and we will help.
Check now and then that handles and hinges are tight. A loose screw is easy to tighten before it works loose. If a door drops or a drawer catches, message us from the contact page and tell us.
