Walk-in Wardrobes in Bowes Park
Walls in older London homes are rarely straight, so we scribe the furniture to follow them. Our work on walk-in wardrobes in Bowes Park starts with a design visit, and everything is made in our workshop.
- More space for clothes and shoes
- A calmer, clearer bedroom
- Shelves for shoes and bags
Walk-in wardrobes for your home in Bowes Park
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
A confident DIYer can manage simple shelves or a standard wardrobe in a square room. Sloping ceilings, uneven floors and lath-and-plaster walls make it harder, because scribing and the right fixings start to matter.
It’s worth being honest about cost: off-the-shelf furniture usually costs less up front. Bespoke earns its place where the room is tricky, space is tight or you want the furniture to look part of the house.
About our walk-in wardrobes in Bowes Park
Many London homes have a small room that is awkward as a bedroom. Fitted out from wall to wall, it can take the clothes that crowd the bedroom, and the bedroom itself feels calmer. We plan the layout so you can stand, turn and see everything. People typically come to us about a use for a small spare room and setting aside a corner of a large bedroom, and the answer is made at our workshop from birch plywood and moisture-resistant MDF with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish.
Older bedrooms usually have generous ceiling heights, and a large share of homes around Bowes Park are that old. That height can be used, with fitted furniture taken up to the cornice and top cupboards for occasional things. Original mouldings are worked around rather than removed, so the furniture suits the house.
The written quote puts the design visit in writing: the layout, what goes inside, the materials used and the finish. If something isn’t quite right, tell us before anything is made.

Why bespoke in Bowes Park?
Off-the-shelf wardrobe systems are quicker to get and typically cost less, and in a square room they can work. Where walls lean and floors slope, they rarely fit neatly. A bespoke walk-in wardrobe is made to the room. The two recesses beside a chimney breast are seldom an identical size, and standard units bought as a pair rarely suit both. Fitted furniture is made to each one separately.
We quote each job for the room it’s going into, after the design visit. The price depends mainly on the size of the piece, how many doors and drawers it has and what goes inside.
What you get with us
- Built around your room
- Finished by spray or by hand
- Work across the whole of London
- Built from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood

Bowes Park homes and walk-in wardrobes
Homes built before 1919 make up about 56% of the housing in the area around Bowes Park, with about 13% built since 2000, going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. That matters for walk-in wardrobes, as the build era decides whether a wall is solid brick, lath and plaster, block or plasterboard. Part of Bowes Park is in the Trinity Gardens Conservation Area, one of the conservation areas recorded by Historic England. Being in a conservation area mainly affects changes to the outside of a building, and fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. If in doubt, the council’s planning team can confirm. The ULEZ, run by TfL, takes in all of London, so Haringey is inside it. That includes the vans that bring and fit furniture in Bowes Park. Parking and access are planned at the design visit.
For a flat near Alexandra Palace station, check any building rules on lifts and working hours early, and the sections will be sized for the way in. The wider area includes historic houses like Bruce Castle, about 1.7 miles east. For a period home anywhere nearby, tall ceilings give walk-in wardrobes room to reach the cornice. For a family home near Trinity Primary Academy, hanging rails set low at first can be raised later, as children get taller.
Bowes Park is about 2 miles east of Tottenham, within the London Borough of Haringey. Our work covers every London borough and the City of London, Bowes Park included. Across Haringey, we cover Bowes Park, along with the rest of the borough.
In N22, N11 and N8, the process is the same as anywhere else in London. Our area takes in homes on streets such as High Road, Park Road and Edith Road, whether you want walk-in wardrobes or another piece made for the room. We also cover the places around Bowes Park: Bounds Green (1 mile north-west), Oakthorpe Park (1 mile north), Palmers Green (1 mile north), Arnos Grove (1 mile north-west) and New Southgate (1 mile north-west). Other parts of Haringey we cover include Tottenham (2 miles east), Tottenham Green (2 miles south-east), Crouch End (2 miles south), South Tottenham (2 miles south-east), Seven Sisters (2 miles south-east) and Finsbury Park (2 miles south).
Local landmarks in Bowes Park
Our area takes in the homes around St Thomas More Catholic School, Greek Secondary School of London and The Prince pub, among other places. There is a railway station in Bowes Park itself: Alexandra Palace station. A little further out are The Mall Wood Green (0.5 miles south-east) and Greentrees Hospital (0.9 miles north-east).
Pricing walk-in wardrobes in Bowes Park
The price for your room depends on:
- The width and height of the space
- The finish: spray painted or hand painted
- Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside
- The number of doors and drawers
Every room is priced on its own, because size, layout and finish change from job to job. Spray painting and hand painting are different processes, which affects the cost. You’ll see the figure in your written quote, after the design visit.
Helping us understand the room
Getting a few details early makes the visit more useful. Where you can, include:
- The type of home and how the room is reached
- Examples of the look you’re after
- Rough sizes, even if they’re only to the nearest few centimetres
- A few pictures of the space, taken from the doorway and from each corner
If you already have something in mind, tell us; if you don’t, that is fine, and we can work it out together. At the design visit, we measure up and talk the design through with you, and the written quote that follows sets it out. To start, drop us a line using the contact form.
Flats, blocks and rented homes
Blocks of flats often have their own rules on lift bookings, entry systems and times for trades. Let us know about them at the measuring visit.
A lot of London’s terraced houses are now converted flats, and that often means a shared hallway and a tight turn on the stairs. We plan the size of each section around it, after measuring the route at the design visit.
Common questions about walk-in wardrobes
Is Bowes Park in the area you cover for walk-in wardrobes?
Yes. Bowes Park is one of the places we work, along with the rest of Haringey and London. You can drop us a line using the contact form to arrange a design visit.
Is parking a problem for fitting in Bowes Park?
It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor permit, a pay-and-display bay or a suspended bay, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you during the design visit.
Should I send photos?
Yes. Pictures help us understand the room before the design visit. Show anything the furniture has to work around, such as radiators or sockets.
What finishes do you offer?
There are two ways to finish it: by spray or by hand. A spray finish is smooth and even, while a hand-painted one is easy to touch up later.
How much does a walk-in wardrobe cost?
Your quote is written for your room once we’ve visited and measured. Each walk-in wardrobe is different, so we quote once we have measured. To arrange a visit, message us from the contact page.
Is ventilation important in a dressing room?
Yes. A room full of clothes needs air moving through it, particularly on an external wall, which can be colder and damper. The units are designed with ventilation in mind.
From workshop to your room
You won’t need to do much on the day. We need someone to let us in at the start, and the room should already be cleared, as we’ll have talked about during the design visit. After that, it is over to us: the floors are covered, the sections come in and the fitting begins. How long fitting takes depends on the room and how much is fitted into it, and your quote sets out the fitting days. On fitting day, edges are trimmed on site to follow the walls, so we ask for a clear space to work near the room. We keep dust down and tidy as we go. Hand painting, if that is your finish, can follow the fitting.
- To begin, send us a few details through our contact form; a brief note on the room and what it needs to store is plenty.
- We visit to measure up and work out the layout inside, including any dressing table.
- A quote in writing follows, setting out the layout, materials and finish.
- The units are made in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- The walk-in wardrobe is fitted, with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish, and the inside fittings go in last.
Preparing the room
- Have your electrician move any sockets or switches beforehand
- Leave a clear route from the front door to the room
- Let us know about any meters, fuse boards or boilers in the area
