Walk-in wardrobes in Rise Park
Our walk-in wardrobes are made for homes in Rise Park and all over London. It starts with a design visit to measure and plan the layout, followed by a quote. Everything is built in our workshop and fitted in your home. How long the fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote, so you will know before we start. If you’re living with a bedroom without crowded wardrobes and somewhere to sit and get ready, that’s what walk-in wardrobes are for, made from birch plywood and moisture-resistant MDF with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish.
A bedroom in a house from between the wars normally has simpler mouldings than a Victorian one, which makes it simple to take fitted furniture up to the ceiling. If yours is one of the interwar houses or semis that make up much of the housing around Rise Park, high cupboards make a good home for suitcases and spare bedding. The skirting is scribed around rather than removed.
Where other trades are needed, for instance an electrician to move a socket, we point that out. Our quote covers the carpentry: the design, the materials and the finish.

Pricing walk-in wardrobes in Rise Park
Prices vary from room to room, and it comes down to:
- Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside
- Access to the room, like stairs, lifts and narrow halls
- Walls and floors that are out of level or out of square
- Doors and drawers, and how many
What goes inside matters as much as the outside: drawers take more making than shelves, and each rail, divider or pull-out adds to the work. We will talk through what you need inside during the design visit, and the quote follows.
Before the design visit
Ahead of the design visit, we’ll typically ask about:
- How you want to use the space
- Any ideas or images you have saved
- Pictures showing the full wall, from floor to ceiling
- Your postcode and the borough
The price comes in a written quote, worked out from the measurements and the design you choose. Because every room is different, the quote comes after the design visit. To arrange a visit, tell us about the room on our contact form.

How it’s made
Spray-painted finish
The colour is agreed with you before we spray.
Hand-painted finish
If you’d like the units to match the room’s woodwork, hand painting on site works well.
Before and after fitting day
New paint needs time to cure fully, so treat it gently at first. Beyond that, these tips help:
- Plan lighting with your electrician
- Decide on doors or open storage before we measure
- Have a clear-out before we measure
- Count your coats and long garments
New paintwork takes a while to harden after fitting. Treat the doors and drawer fronts gently at first, and wipe them with a soft, damp cloth.
Deal with any damp before the units go in. Cooler external walls can lead to condensation, and ventilation inside the units helps.
Questions we are often asked
Is parking a problem for fitting in Rise Park?
It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a parking bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you during the design visit.
Is Rise Park in the area you cover for walk-in wardrobes?
Yes. We cover all of Havering and the rest of London, and Rise Park is part of that. We start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need, and then we send a quote.
My walls are not straight. Is that a problem?
Walls and floors that are not true are part of the job in older homes. The furniture is scribed to follow the walls and levelled on feet or a plinth, so it sits tight to the room.
Is ventilation important in a dressing room?
Yes, it helps avoid condensation and mould. The design allows air to circulate, and any damp on the walls should be sorted before fitting.
How much does a walk-in wardrobe cost?
There’s no price list: each design is priced in writing after we’ve seen the space. Size, fittings and finish all affect the price. For a design visit, drop us a line using the contact form.
Can you come on a Saturday?
Yes, by arrangement. If a Saturday works better for you, say so when you get in touch.
Flats, conversions and leaseholders
If the property is let, we’ll need access agreed with the tenants. A letting agent can arrange this on a landlord’s behalf, and the written quote can go to whoever needs it.
We also make and fit furniture for landlords furnishing a let, as it makes good use of an tricky room. The materials are the same as for any home: moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand.
Fitting day, step by step
Furniture made in a workshop still has to meet the room it’s going into, and that happens on fitting day. Few walls in older London homes are truly flat or square, so each edge that meets a wall is scribed to follow it, until the line is tight. How long the fitting itself takes depends on the room and how much is fitted into it, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Fitting day means carrying in the sections, joining them and fitting them to the walls. Hand-painted furniture can be finished on site; spray-painted pieces arrive finished from the workshop. Saturdays can be arranged.

Rise Park homes and walk-in wardrobes
About 50% of the homes in the area around Rise Park went up between 1919 and 1939, and about 44% between 1945 and 1972, going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how walk-in wardrobes are fixed and fitted. More than a third of the homes in the area around Rise Park (about 44%) were built between 1945 and 1972, based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. Bedrooms from that era tend to be regular, so fitted furniture can run wall to wall, with fixings chosen for concrete, block or brick. All of London, Havering included, is inside the ULEZ. So any van that delivers or fits furniture in Rise Park is covered by it. How the van gets to your door is planned at the design visit.
If you live in a period home close to St James, a bedroom chimney breast and its alcoves often shape where walk-in wardrobes go. The wider area includes historic houses such as Hare Hall, about 1.3 miles south-east. If your own home is a period one, solid external walls can be cold, so ventilation behind walk-in wardrobes is part of the design. If you live near Raphael Park, walk-in wardrobes are normally planned on the walls away from the window, so the light and the view stay.
