Fitted wardrobes in Rise Park
How we make fitted wardrobes for Rise Park
You can choose hinged or sliding doors. With hinged doors, you see a full section when you open them, but they need clear space in front to swing. Sliding doors suit tighter rooms, although only part of the wardrobe is open at a time. We weigh them up with you during the design visit. If your home has wasted space beside the chimney breast and too little room for clothes, that’s what fitted wardrobes are for, made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted.
The front bedroom in many 1920s and 1930s houses sits above a bay, which leaves the side walls for storage and the bay for light. Around Rise Park, a big part of the housing is interwar, semi-detached or detached, so it’s a room shape worth planning for. We measure every wall, even where the room looks square.
The quote comes in writing, so you can read it at your own pace. It records the design, the materials and the finish we discussed.

What happens on fitting day
With the carcasses fixed and level, we hang any doors and fit any drawers or lids. Each one is adjusted until the gaps are even and it closes cleanly, and then we check it all again. The time the fitting takes depends on the length of the run, the doors and what goes inside, and the fitting days are set out in your quote. Loft stairs in an interwar house can be tight, with a low ceiling at the top, so any section going up there is sized for them. Elsewhere in the house, the route is typically more generous. Each section is assembled and fixed in the room.
- You get in touch with some details about the bedroom and where it is in the house.
- At the design visit we plan the wardrobes with you and check the route in, including any lift or tight stair turn.
- You receive a quote in writing for the wardrobes.
- The wardrobes are made at our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, in sections sized for the route we measured.
- Fitting day: the sections come in, are joined and set level, and the doors are hung.
Getting ready for fitting day
- Leave a clear route from the front door to the room

Advice
Bedroom storage in Rise Park
The biggest shares of homes in the area around Rise Park were built between 1919 and 1939 (about 50%) and between 1945 and 1972 (about 44%), going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. That matters for fitted wardrobes, as the build era decides whether a wall is solid brick, lath and plaster, block or plasterboard. About 44% of homes in the streets around Rise Park were built between 1945 and 1972, based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. Post-war bedrooms are normally simple shapes, which suits fitted furniture along a whole wall, fixed to suit the wall. Red routes are run by TfL, with tight limits on where and when vehicles can stop. If your street in Rise Park joins a main road, it’s worth telling us at the measuring visit. That way we can plan where to load and unload.
If you live in a period home close to St James, a bedroom chimney breast and its alcoves often shape where fitted wardrobes go. Living in a block of flats near Gidea Park station? Then fitted wardrobes are made in sections sized for the stairs, landings and lift, so measuring the route matters as much as measuring the room. Hare Hall, about 1.3 miles south-east, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. If your own home is a period one, solid external walls can be cold, so ventilation behind fitted wardrobes is part of the design.
Rise Park is about 1 mile south of Romford, part of the London Borough of Havering. We work across all London boroughs and the City of London, and Rise Park is part of that. Our work takes in places right across Havering.
We cover every part of the RM1, RM5 and RM2 postcode area. You will find streets here like Brook Road, Havering Road and Heather Avenue, and homes on each of them are within our area for fitted wardrobes. Nearby, we also make fitted wardrobes in Collier Row (1 mile south-west), Romford (1 mile south), Rush Green (2 miles south), Chadwell Heath (2 miles south-west) and Becontree Heath (3 miles south-west). Across the rest of Havering, our area takes in Hornchurch (3 miles south-east), Heath Park (2 miles south-east), Elm Park (3 miles south), Rainham (5 miles south), Upminster (4 miles south-east) and Ardleigh Green (2 miles south-east).
Around Rise Park

The closest station to Rise Park is Gidea Park station, about 1.4 miles south-east of the centre. Well-known places in the area include Harold Wood Hospital (1.8 miles east) and Romford Shopping Hall (1.2 miles south). Not far away are Bedfords Park.
Bespoke fitted wardrobes or ready-made?
Modular interior systems can be rearranged easily, and that flexibility is useful. A bespoke interior is planned around your clothes from the start, and we can include adjustable shelves where you want flexibility. Doors, windows and radiators rarely leave a gap that matches a standard width, so ready-made furniture often ends up in the wrong place. Fitted furniture is designed around them.
In London, parking can affect the price. Much of London is covered by controlled parking zones, so a van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension near your home. It’s useful to talk about parking at the design visit.

Common questions about fitted wardrobes
Can parking be tricky on fitting day in Rise Park?
It can be, depending on whether your street is in a controlled parking zone. A van may need a visitor’s permit, a paid parking bay or a bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the measuring visit.
Do you cover homes near Gidea Park station?
Yes. We cover all of Havering and the rest of London. To get started, you can use our contact form with a few details about the room.
Can you fit wardrobes in a top-floor flat?
We make the wardrobes in sections sized to the route into your home. We measure the stairs, landings and lift as well as the bedroom. If you are in a leasehold flat, check your lease before fixing furniture to walls.
Can the fitting be on a Saturday?
Yes, by prior arrangement. Tell us when you contact us if a Saturday suits you best.
What can go inside a fitted wardrobe?
It is worked out with you when we measure, based on what you wear and how much of it there is. Some shelves can be adjustable so the layout can change.
Does someone need to be home during the fitting?
Someone needs to be there to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work, but it is useful to be around at the end.
Before and after fitting day
Getting the most from fitted wardrobes starts with the planning and carries on after fitting day. Here are some things worth bearing in mind:
- Plan any socket or switch changes with your electrician before fitting
- Work out the split between long and short hanging
- Check your lease before fixing furniture to walls in a leasehold flat
- Mention if the wardrobe will go on an external wall
Doors can settle a little once the wardrobes are filled. Hinges can normally be adjusted to line the doors up again, and sliding doors can be adjusted on their runners.
Close doors gently and don’t let them swing into furniture, and slide doors without forcing them. It keeps hinges and runners in adjustment longer.
What it costs
What you pay depends on:
- Parking near your home
- Spray painting or hand painting
- Stairs, lifts and the route to the room
- The internal fittings
Awkward rooms take more time: walls that lean, floors that slope and sloping ceilings all mean more scribing and cutting. The quote allows for it, which we write after seeing the room.
Helping us understand the room
Before the design visit, it helps us to know about:
- Where you live, with the postcode
- Rough sizes: width, height and depth
- What kind of home it is, and which floor the room is on
- Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
You do not need exact measurements to get started. We measure everything properly at the design visit. To get started, send us a few details through our contact form. You receive a written quote after the visit.
Flats, conversions and leaseholders
If the property is let, we’ll need access agreed with the tenants. An agent can arrange access for you, and the written quote can go to whoever needs it.
If your flat is leasehold, check your lease before fixing furniture to the walls. A lease can require consent from the building owner for alterations, which is worth sorting early. We cannot give advice on leases.
