Bespoke Kitchens in Westcombe Park
Few London rooms are perfectly square, and we scribe the furniture to follow the walls. Our work on bespoke kitchens in Westcombe Park starts with a design visit, and everything is made in our workshop.
- Spaces sized for your oven and fridge
- A kitchen island with room around it
- A kitchen finished in your colours
Need bespoke kitchens in Westcombe Park?
When is bespoke worth it?
What you pay for with bespoke is mainly the fit: scribed edges, a level base on an uneven floor and furniture that meets the ceiling, skirting and picture rail. In an older room, standard units rarely manage that.
Standard units come in set widths and heights, so there is often a strip of wasted space at the side or above. Fitted furniture is made to the room’s measurements, so it can run to the ceiling and fill the width.
Bespoke kitchens in Westcombe Park: what you get
Our bespoke kitchens are fitted in Westcombe Park and all over London. It starts with a design visit to measure and go through the layout, then a quote in writing. The cabinets are built in our workshop and fitted in your home. The time the fitting takes depends on how many units there are and how the room is laid out, and your quote sets out the fitting days, so you can plan around it. If you’re living with more storage in a small kitchen and cabinets built around the appliances you choose, kitchens made from birch plywood and moisture-resistant MDF with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish can solve it.
Many homes around Westcombe Park were built since 2000, and across London a lot of homes from those years are flats with compact kitchens. Cabinets made to the exact widths and height of the room add storage a standard kitchen leaves out. Boxed-in pipes and risers are built around.
Where other trades are needed, for example an electrician to move a socket, we point that out. The quote itself covers our work, from the design to the materials and finish.

Questions from Westcombe Park
I live near Westcombe Park station. Is that in your area?
Yes. We cover all of Greenwich and the rest of London. You can send us a few details through our contact form to arrange a design visit.
I live in a flat in Westcombe Park. How will the furniture get up the stairs?
At the design visit, we measure the way in along with the room itself. The furniture is made in sections that fit the stairs and lift, and put together in the room. If your building has rules on lift booking or working hours, or your lease needs consent for alterations, it is worth checking those early.
Do you work on Saturdays?
Yes, Saturdays are possible by arrangement. Just mention it when you contact us, and we will see what we can do.
How long will the kitchen take to fit?
It depends on the kitchen. The time the fitting takes depends on the size of the kitchen and the design, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote, so you can plan your other trades around it.
Is the furniture spray painted or hand painted?
There are two ways to finish it: spray painted or hand painted. A spray finish is smooth and even, while a hand-painted one is easy to touch up later.
Do you handle the gas and electrics for the kitchen?
No. We make and fit the kitchen cabinets. Plumbing is done by your plumber, gas by a Gas Safe registered engineer and electrics by your electrician, and we plan the cabinets around their work.
How fitting day works
The last stage of the day is the finish. If the furniture was spray painted in the workshop, we fill the fixing holes and touch up on site; if you chose hand painting, that can be done in the room once the furniture is fitted. Either way, the finish is the one set out in your quote. Newer blocks often have concierge desks, entry systems and rules on lift booking, so it’s useful to sort them out in advance. Kitchens are made in sections sized for the lift and doors.
- To begin, get in touch through our contact form; a brief note on the room and the kitchen you have in mind is plenty.
- We visit to measure the room and go through the layout, the storage and where the appliances will sit.
- You receive a written quote for the kitchen cabinets.
- The cabinets are made in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- We fit the cabinets in your home, working around your plumber, your electrician and a Gas Safe engineer.
Getting ready for fitting day
- Take anything hanging off the wall we’re fitting to
- Leave a clear route from the front door to the room
- Check the building’s rules for trades and lift bookings
Getting a quote
It helps to see the room before we come. A few pictures showing the walls, the corners and where the ceiling meets them tell us a lot about the space, particularly with rough measurements. To send them over, fill in our short enquiry form, and we’ll suggest a time for a design visit.
Advice
Flats, leases and landlords
A lot of London’s terraced houses are now converted flats, and that often means a shared hallway and a tight turn on the stairs. Each section is sized with that in mind.
If your building is on a red route or a busy main road, getting the furniture from the van to the door needs planning. TfL runs the red routes, and the stopping rules are strict, so tell us about it at the measuring visit.
Made-to-measure kitchens in Westcombe Park
The biggest shares of homes in the neighbourhood around Westcombe Park were built before 1919 (about 37%) and since 2000 (about 37%), on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. That matters for kitchens, as the build era decides whether a wall is solid brick, lath and plaster, block or plasterboard. Part of Westcombe Park is in a conservation area, according to Historic England’s records. The controls in a conservation area are mostly about the outside of buildings, so furniture fitted inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. Your council can advise if you’re unsure. About 49% of households in the streets around Westcombe Park live in purpose-built flats, according to Census 2021. In a block, each section is sized to get up the stairs or into the lift and through the door. Building management rules on lifts, deliveries and working hours are worth checking early.
If your children go to Halstow Primary School or a school nearby, planning a kitchen around family routines, with a place for school things, pays off. Queen's House, about 1 mile west, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. For a period home anywhere nearby, cabinets will be scribed to walls and floors that are rarely true. If your home is as old as some of the listed buildings nearby, like East Greenwich Library, original features like shutters, panelling and fireplaces are worth designing around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features.

Made for the room, or bought in a box?
Ready-made kitchens are widely available and often cheaper and they suit many newer homes. In an older house with uneven walls, they tend to need filler panels and leave gaps. A bespoke kitchen costs more but is made for the room. Ready-made units fixed to stud walls are often held by fixings that do not suit the board. Built-in pieces are designed with the right fixings from the start.
We do not publish set prices, because every piece is designed for one room. We measure up, discuss the design and send a quote in writing, naming the materials and finish. To start, message us from the contact page.

Looking after your furniture
Because fitted furniture stays put, a little upkeep goes a long way. A few pointers help:
- Share the layout with your other trades
- Choose your appliances before the design is final
- Mention any parking or lift rules
- Have damp sorted before fitting
Doors are hung and adjusted when we fit them. Houses move a little with the seasons, so hinges allow small adjustments later.
Have any damp sorted before the kitchen goes in. Damp behind units can lead to mould, particularly on external walls.
