Park Royal Fitted Home Offices
Thinking about fitted home offices in Park Royal? It starts with a design visit to measure and talk through ideas, then a written quote.
- A laptop that moves from room to room
- A tangle of chargers and leads
- Shelving that bows under the load

How fitting day works
Before anything is fixed, we set the furniture level. Where the floor slopes, we bring the furniture up to level on adjustable feet or a plinth, and that keeps the doors and shelves true. After that, it is fixed to the wall using fixings that suit the wall, whether that’s solid brick, lath and plaster or plasterboard. Parking at newer developments can be restricted, with private bays or loading areas, so let us know what applies at the design visit. The furniture comes in sections and is fixed in place. Saturday fitting is possible by prior arrangement.
- You contact us about a home office in a spare room, alcove, landing or under the eaves.
- We visit to measure the space, including any slope, alcove or uneven wall.
- Your written quote sets out the design, materials and finish.
- In our workshop the furniture is made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, cut to the angles we measured.
- On fitting day each piece is set level and scribed to the walls, so there are no gaps along the edges.
- The finish is either sprayed in our workshop or hand-painted once everything is in.
How to prepare
- Let us know about any meters, fuse boards or boilers in the area
- Empty the space we’ll be working in
- Let us know if your street is in a controlled parking zone
Ask for a quote
If you know what you want, say so; if you don’t, that is fine, and we can work it out together. The design is talked through at the visit, once we’ve measured, and the written quote that follows sets it out. To arrange a visit, get in touch through our contact form.

Fitted home offices in Park Royal: what you get
Landings and the space under the eaves can also take a desk. Under a slope, the desk is placed where there is headroom to sit and stand. On a landing, the furniture must leave a clear way past. At the design visit in Park Royal, we will see what fits. If your home has flimsy shelves that won’t take the weight and wanting to close the door on work at the end of the day, home offices made from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted can solve it.
Many homes around Park Royal were built since 2000, and open-plan living spaces are common in newer homes. A home office can be a run of cupboards with a desk inside that closes away. Lift and delivery rules in a managed block are worth checking early.
Our quotes are written in plain words. You’ll see what will be made, the boards used and the finish.

FAQs: fitted home offices in Park Royal
Can you fit furniture in a home close to Harlesden station?
Yes. We cover all of Ealing and the rest of London. To get started, you can drop us a line using the contact form with a few details about the room.
Do I need permission for fitted furniture in a conservation area?
Not normally. Conservation area controls are largely about how buildings look from outside, so fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. Listed buildings are different, as works inside that affect their character can need listed building consent from the council. The council’s planning or conservation team can tell you if in doubt.
Is it possible to have an office and a guest bed in one room?
Often, yes. We plan the office so there is still space for guests, or with doors that hide the desk away. A fold-down wall bed can also be built into the design.
Do you work on Saturdays?
Yes, Saturdays are possible by arrangement. Just mention it when you contact us, and we’ll see what we can do.
What if the stairs or lift are small?
The furniture is built in sections, each one sized to fit the way in. At the design visit, we measure the route along with the room itself.
What if my walls and floors are out of level?
That’s normal in older homes, and it is what scribing is for. Edges are scribed to the wall, and adjustable feet or a plinth bring the furniture up to level.
Do you need fitted home offices in Park Royal?
Many people get in touch because they now work from home, at least part of the week. The kitchen table works for a while, then it does not. A built-in desk and storage make working at home far easier.
Most of the enquiries we get are about needs like these:
- Wanting to close the door on work at the end of the day
- An tricky space with no furniture that fits
- Wires with no tidy route
- Glare from a window on the screen
For an older house near St Gabriel's Church, a small back bedroom can become a home office with a desk under the window.
Choosing a carpenter
- Whether the finish is set out in the quote
- Do they scribe the furniture to the walls?
- Whether you’ll get a quote in writing, not just a figure
- Where they’ll park and unload
Where other trades come in
We’re carpenters, so some jobs belong to other trades. These are worth knowing before you plan:
- Plastering and decorating around the office
- Turning an unconverted loft into a room
- Structural work, such as removing walls or chimney breasts
If you are not sure what’s possible in your room, you can drop us a line using the contact form and we will give you a straight answer before you arrange a visit. How it works.

Before and after fitting day
Looking after painted furniture is simple with a little care. These habits help most:
- Consider your chair when planning the desk
- Mention any parking rules on your street
- Check whether you’ll need new sockets
- Decide how much should be open shelving and how much behind doors
A hand-painted finish is easy to touch up if it gets marked. It is worth keeping a record of the paint colour. If anything isn’t right with the furniture, tell us about the room on our contact form and we will talk it through.
Do not overload shelves beyond what they were designed for. Shelves are made for the load you planned. Spread heavy books and files evenly.
