Common questions about walk-in wardrobes
Is parking a problem for fitting in Park Royal?
It can be, depending on whether your street is in a controlled parking zone. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. It is useful to tell us about parking during the design visit.
Do you cover homes near Harlesden station?
Yes, homes across Ealing and the rest of London are within the area we cover. To get started, you can message us from the contact page with some details about the room.
Do you do the electrics?
No. Sockets, switches and lighting are for your electrician, and some electrical work in homes is covered by Part P of the Building Regulations. We will design around them.
What if the wall is cold or damp?
It can be done with some care: leaving ventilation behind and inside helps stop condensation. Damp treatment isn’t something we do, so any damp needs sorting first.
Can the fitting be on a Saturday?
Yes, by arrangement. Let us know when you contact us if a Saturday suits you best.
What does a walk-in wardrobe cost?
Prices are quoted for your room, once we’ve measured and talked through the design. Size, fittings and finish all affect the price. To arrange a design visit, use our contact form.
Walk-in wardrobes for homes in Park Royal
We fit walk-in wardrobes in Park Royal and across London. It starts with a design visit to measure and plan the layout, followed by a quote. Once agreed, we make the units in our workshop and fit them in your home. The time the fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and your quote sets out the fitting days. If you’re living with somewhere for shoes to live and separate space for two people’s clothes, walk-in wardrobes made from birch ply and moisture-resistant MDF, painted by hand or sprayed can solve it.
Hinged doors need space to open, which a compact bedroom may not have, so sliding doors or a careful layout can help. Around Park Royal, many homes date from 2000 onwards, and newer bedrooms tend to be on the small side. We measure the space in front as well as the wall.
A written quote is the clearest record of what we have agreed. It sets out the walk-in wardrobe designed for your room, what it’s made from and how it’s finished, and the workshop works from it.

What it costs
What it costs comes down to the materials and the time involved. The main factors are:
- Parking near your home
- The number of doors and drawers
- The width and height of the space
- Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
No two rooms cost the same to furnish, because the size, the layout and the finish all vary. Spray painting and hand painting are different processes, which affects the cost. You’ll see the figure in your written quote, after the design visit.
Before the design visit
When you contact us, these help most:
- A few photos of the space, taken from the doorway and from each corner
- What you’d like to store or use the space for
- Whether it is a house or a flat, and if there are stairs or a lift
- Rough sizes: width, height and depth
You don’t need exact measurements to get started. We measure everything properly during the design visit. To arrange it, drop us a line using the contact form. You receive a written quote after the visit.
Before and after fitting day
New paint needs time to cure fully, so go gently with it for a while. After that, a few simple habits help:
- Talk to your electrician early about lighting
- Measure how much long hanging you need
- Count your shoes before the design visit
- Make sure walls are dry before units go in
New paintwork takes a while to harden after fitting. Go easy on painted surfaces at first and avoid harsh cleaners.
It helps to know what you will keep before we measure. The amount of long hanging, double hanging, shelving and shoe storage depends on what you own, so a clear-out first gives a better design.
How fitting day works
If anything comes up on the day, just ask. The design, materials and finish were settled before anything was made, so fitting day is about putting it in place carefully. The time the fitting takes depends on the room and how much is fitted into it, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Newer homes often have finished floors, painted walls and new doors that mark easily, so we protect the route before carrying anything in. Door frames and corners get covers too. Once inside, the pieces are joined in place.
- We start with the space and the clothes it needs to hold, from long coats to shoes.
- We visit to measure up and go through the layout, including any dressing table.
- A quote follows, setting out the design and finish, ready for you to check.
- The units are made and finished in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
- Fitting day: the units are fitted and trimmed to the room. We then check the doors and drawers with you.
How to prepare
- Let us know about parking near your home
- Clear the hallway and stairs so the sections can come through
- Get any new sockets or wiring done by your electrician before fitting day
How to get a quote
We quote each job for the room it’s going into, after the design visit. Because every room is different, the quote comes after the design visit. For a quote, get in touch through our contact form.

Bespoke walk-in wardrobes or ready-made?
A bespoke walk-in wardrobe takes more planning than buying a system, and it costs more. What you get is storage designed for what you own and the space you have. Rooms in newer homes are often compact, and standard depths can take too much floor, whereas fitted pieces can be as shallow as the space needs. It still uses the full height.
The price comes in a written quote, worked out from the measurements and the design you choose. Bigger pieces use more board and take longer to make and fit, so size is the starting point. Doors, drawers, internal fittings and the finish make up most of the rest.
What you get with us
- Saturdays by arrangement
- A spray or hand-painted finish
- Edges scribed to follow your walls
- Made in our workshop, then fitted in your home
