Beam Park Loft Storage

Loft storage for your home in Beam Park: eaves cupboards, drawers and wardrobes in converted lofts. We visit to measure and go through the design, make the furniture in our workshop and fit it.

  • Standard furniture that won’t go up the loft stairs
  • A boarded loft that’s hard to keep organised
  • A new loft conversion that needs storage

Loft storage in Beam Park

How we make loft storage for Beam Park

Behind an eaves door, there is often insulation and a need for ventilation. Storage shouldn’t block the ventilation or squash the insulation. If you have concerns about what’s behind the eaves, ask the people who did the conversion. We look at this at the measuring visit in Beam Park. People normally come to us about an empty dormer that could hold shelves and no wardrobe that fits under the slope; the furniture is made from birch ply and moisture-resistant MDF, painted by hand or sprayed.

Newer homes often have plain spaces left as they are: a recess beside the stairs, a gap by a window, an empty cupboard. Many homes around Beam Park date from 2000 onwards, and fitted storage can make spaces like that far more useful. The layout inside is planned to use the full depth.

The written quote puts the design visit in writing: the layout, what goes inside, the materials used and the finish. If something is not quite right, tell us before anything is made.

What happens on fitting day

Finishing comes last. If the furniture was spray painted in the workshop, we fill the fixing holes and touch up on site; if you chose hand painting, that can be done in the room once the furniture is fitted. Either way, the finish is the one set out in your quote. Stud walls can carry pipes and cables, so we check before drilling, and heavy pieces are fixed into the studs or stand on the floor. Any new sockets or plumbing are for your electrician or plumber, ideally before fitting day.

  1. You get in touch with a few details about the loft room, whether it’s a converted room or a boarded space.
  2. At the design visit, we look at the slopes, the eaves and the way up.
  3. Your quote sets out the design, the materials and the finish. You can ask us about any of it.
  4. We make the cupboards and drawers in our workshop, cut to the slope.
  5. We fit it in your home and leave it ready to use, with the doors and drawers checked with you.

When you need someone else

Not everything around loft storage is carpentry, like an electrician, a plumber or a Gas Safe engineer. Here’s what to know:

  • New sockets, lights or wiring, which are for your electrician
  • Building work to turn a loft into a room
  • Structural changes, such as cutting into rafters or joists

If you are not sure what’s possible in your room, you can message us from the contact page and we will give you a straight answer before you arrange a visit. How it works.

What goes into it

  • Hand-painted finish
  • Eaves doors and drawers
  • Birch plywood
  • Moisture-resistant MDF
  • Spray-painted finish
  • Sloped wardrobe tops

Why bespoke in Beam Park?

A standalone wardrobe can go with you when you move. Fitted storage stays put, and it makes far more of the loft. Which suits you depends on your plans. Large standalone pieces don’t always fit the lift or the hallway, while fitted furniture comes in sections sized for the route. The sections are joined and fixed once inside.

We don’t publish set prices, because every piece is designed for one room. We measure up, discuss the design and send a written quote, with the materials and finish set out. To arrange a design visit, message us from the contact page.

Why choose us

  • Spray painted or hand painted, in the colour you choose
  • Built from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood
  • We work across all London boroughs
  • Made in our workshop, then fitted in your home

Questions from Beam Park

Is parking a problem for fitting in Beam Park?

It can be, depending on whether your street is in a controlled parking zone. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. It helps to tell us about parking during the design visit.

I live near Dagenham Dock station. Is that in your area?

Yes. We cover all of Havering and the rest of London. You can drop us a line using the contact form to arrange a design visit.

My walls aren’t straight. Is that a problem?

Uneven walls are normal in older London homes, and the furniture is made to deal with them. Edges are scribed to the wall, and adjustable feet or a plinth bring the furniture up to level.

Is an outside wall a problem for fitted furniture?

An outside wall can be colder and damper than an inside one, so we allow for ventilation behind and inside the furniture, which helps avoid condensation and mould. Any damp needs sorting by the right specialist before fitting.

Do you carry out loft conversions?

No, the conversion itself is not our work. Our part is the storage once the loft is a finished room, including eaves cupboards, knee-wall drawers and wardrobes.

What are your eaves cupboards made from?

The storage is made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood. Birch plywood gives strength to the carcasses and drawers, while the doors and panels are MDF, which paints well. The finish is spray-painted or hand-painted.

How we price loft storage

The price for your room depends on:

  • Spray painting or hand painting
  • The number of doors and drawers
  • Parking near your home
  • Access to the room, like stairs, lifts and narrow halls

Rooms that are not square take more work: uneven walls, sloping floors and angled ceilings all add scribing and cutting on site. The quote allows for it, which we write after seeing the room.

Helping us understand the room

Before the design visit, it helps us to know about:

  • Approximate measurements of the space
  • Pictures showing the full wall, from floor to ceiling
  • What kind of home it is, and which floor the room is on
  • Examples of the look you are after

Loft storage in Beam Park: local notes

About 43% of the homes in the neighbourhood around Beam Park went up since 2000, and about 34% between 1945 and 1972, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how eaves cupboards are fixed and fitted. Newer homes are more common around Beam Park than across Havering: about 43% date from 2000 onwards, against about 13%, on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. That makes plasterboard stud walls and compact rooms more likely, which shapes the fixings and sizes. Since the zone was extended to the outer boroughs in August 2023, the whole of London has been inside the ULEZ. Vans bringing furniture to Beam Park fall under it, just as they do across the rest of London. How the van gets to your door is planned at the design visit.

For families living near Newtons Primary School, eaves cupboards can give school bags, shoes and sports kit a proper home. Living in a block of flats near Dagenham Dock station? Then each piece is planned so it can be carried up and joined together in the room. If your home is one of the older houses near Church of St Helen and St Giles, the low eaves and slopes of a converted loft are worth using.

Bespoke or off-the-shelf?

Shop-bought shelves can sag over a long span. Span, depth and the weight on it decide whether a shelf sags, so a long run needs a thicker shelf, a stiffening lip or a support. We design shelves with that in mind.

Where bespoke earns its keep is in rooms that are not square. Older London rooms tend to have leaning walls, sloping floors and alcoves of different widths.
