Heath Park Loft Storage

Loft storage in Heath Park: eaves cupboards, drawers and wardrobes in converted lofts. We visit to measure and go through the design, make the furniture in our workshop and fit it.

  • Furniture that can’t get up to the loft
  • Wasted space behind the knee walls
  • Seasonal things cluttering the loft room

Loft storage for your home in Heath Park

About our loft storage in Heath Park

Loft rooms are often bedrooms, so storage for clothes matters. A wardrobe under the slope, knee-wall drawers and dormer shelves make a complete set. Planned together, they make the room feel ordered. For a home in Heath Park, it is planned around your things. If your home has a dormer that isn’t being used and boxes piled on loft boards, eaves cupboards made from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish can solve it.

An interwar house usually has a proper landing, sometimes with a recess or an airing cupboard, which can hold fitted storage for linen and spare bedding. If yours is one of the interwar houses, semis or detached homes that make up much of the housing around Heath Park, the landing is worth a look as well as the hall. If a boiler or cylinder sits there, it keeps its clearances and access.

Our quotes are written in plain words. You’ll see what will be made, the boards used and the finish, taken from what we agreed at the visit.

Before and after fitting day

None of this takes much effort. What we’d suggest:

  • Mention any parking rules on your street
  • Empty the eaves so we can see what’s behind
  • Think about how you will reach into the eaves
  • Make a list of what you want to store in the eaves

When you load the drawers and cupboards, put heavy things low. That keeps the drawers running smoothly. We size the shelves for what you said you’d keep there.

Keep sharp or very heavy items away from the painted fronts. Store tools in a box, not loose against the doors. A small chip on a hand-painted finish is easy to touch in.

Where other trades come in

We make and fit furniture, and we don’t do electrics, plumbing, gas, plastering or structural work. Please bear these in mind too:

  • Loft conversions, which we do not carry out
  • Structural changes, such as cutting into rafters or joists
  • Building Regulations approval for a conversion

If in doubt, you can tell us about the room on our contact form and describe the room. How a job runs, step by step.

Loft storage for homes in Heath Park

In the neighbourhood around Heath Park, the largest groups of homes date from between 1919 and 1939 (about 48%) and between 1945 and 1972 (about 16%), going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. That matters for eaves cupboards, as the build era decides whether a wall is solid brick, lath and plaster, block or plasterboard. 3 conservation areas have at least part of their area less than a mile from the middle of Heath Park. Historic England says England has around 10,000, and the controls mainly cover the outside of buildings. Red routes are run by TfL, with tight limits on where and when vehicles can stop. If your street in Heath Park joins a main road, it is worth telling us at the design visit. We’ll plan where the van can stop.

For families living near Squirrels Heath Infant School, a place for each person’s coat and shoes stops the hallway filling up. If your home is one of the older houses near Saint Alban Church of England, the knee walls of a converted loft can take drawers as well as cupboards. The wider area includes historic houses such as Hare Hall, about 0.8 miles north-east. If your own home is a period one, a dormer in a converted loft can hold shelves or a small desk.

Heath Park is in the London Borough of Havering, about 1 mile west of Romford. We cover Heath Park as part of our work across Havering. In Havering, Heath Park is one of the places we cover, and the borough has 22 places on our list.

We cover every part of RM11, RM1 and RM2 for loft storage. Whether you live on a street such as Moss Lane, Park Lane and Manor Road or on one nearby, we can arrange a design visit for loft storage. If you’re just outside Heath Park, we also cover Ardleigh Green (1 mile north-east), Hornchurch (1 mile south-east), Emerson Park (1 mile east), Gidea Park (1 mile north) and Gallows Corner (1 mile north). Across the rest of Havering, our area takes in Elm Park (2 miles south), Collier Row (2 miles north-west), Rainham (4 miles south), Upminster (2 miles south-east), South Hornchurch (3 miles south) and Upminster Bridge (2 miles south-east). Heath Park is among the bigger places we cover in Havering.

Flats, leases and landlords

For a rented home, access for the design visit and fitting day has to be agreed with the tenants. A letting agent can arrange this on a landlord’s behalf.

If your flat is leasehold, check your lease before fixing furniture to the walls. A lease can require consent from the building owner for alterations, and that’s best sorted before fitting day. We cannot give advice on leases, so check it yourself or ask your managing agent.

What affects the price in Heath Park

Not every room costs the same, for these reasons:

  • How many doors and drawers there are
  • Walls and floors that are out of level or out of square
  • The overall size of the piece
  • Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish

The inside of the furniture affects the price as well: drawers take more making than shelves, and each rail, divider or pull-out adds to the work. We will talk through what you need inside during the design visit.

What to send when you contact us

You don’t need exact measurements or a plan. Just send what you can:

  • Whether it is a house or a flat, and if there are stairs or a lift
  • Your postcode and the borough
  • Radiators, sockets, pipes or meters on or near the wall
  • Any ideas or images you’ve saved

Rough sizes are fine at the start. Everything is measured properly when we visit. To arrange it, fill in our short enquiry form and let us know about the room. The written quote follows the visit.

Questions we are often asked

Will parking be an issue for fitting furniture in Heath Park?

It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. It helps to let us know about parking during the design visit, and we’ll plan around it.

Is Heath Park in the area you cover for loft storage?

Yes, we work across Havering, Heath Park included, and across the rest of London. To get started, you can message us from the contact page with a few details.

Will eaves storage block the ventilation?

Not if it is planned with care. The storage is planned around the insulation and ventilation behind the knee wall. If you have concerns about what’s already behind the eaves, it is worth asking whoever converted the loft.

How do you get large pieces into a loft?

Measuring the route is part of the design visit. We size every section for the tightest turn, and the pieces are put together in the room.

Can you add sockets inside the units?

No. We’re carpenters, so electrical work is for your electrician. We can plan cable routes into the design, and any new sockets are best done before fitting day.

Do I need to be at home on fitting day?

We need access, so someone has to let us in. After that, you do not need to stay in the room, though we like to go over the furniture with you at the end.

What happens on fitting day

On the morning of the fitting, we start by protecting your floors and the route from the front door to the room. Next, we carry in the sections made in our workshop, a piece at a time. How long fitting takes depends on the shape of the room and the number of cupboards and drawers, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. Fitting day means carrying in the sections, joining them and fitting them to the walls. Spray-painted pieces come finished from the workshop, while hand painting can happen on site. Saturdays can be arranged.

  1. To begin, get in touch through our contact form; a brief note on the loft and the storage you want is enough.
  2. We visit to measure the slopes and eaves and talk through cupboards, drawers and wardrobes under them.
  3. A quote in writing follows, with the design, materials and finish.
  4. The storage is made at our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, cut to the angles we measured.
  5. We fit the storage in the loft, trimming the edges so they meet the ceiling neatly.

Before fitting day

  • Get any new sockets or wiring done by your electrician before fitting day
  • Move furniture and belongings away from the wall
  • Keep pets out of the room and the hallway
