Loft storage in Hounslow
Many loft rooms are bedrooms, and storage for clothes is the first need. A wardrobe under the slope, knee-wall drawers and dormer shelves make a complete set. Designed as one, they give the room calm, consistent lines. For a home in Hounslow, it is planned around your things. People normally come to us about wasted space behind the knee walls and boxes and suitcases with no home; the furniture is made from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish.
Across London, neighbouring streets can be decades apart in age, and so do the awkward corners, from bays and stairs to halls and eaves. Eaves cupboards are designed for the space you have. Any meters, fuse boards or boilers stay accessible.
If the job needs another trade, like an electrician or a plumber, we will tell you, so it can be arranged before fitting day. Our quote covers the carpentry: the design, the materials and the finish.

Looking after your furniture
People planning loft storage often ask about these. They help whatever the room:
- Note any vents or insulation in the eaves
- Clear the knee-wall spaces before the design visit if you can
- Note the things that need a home in the loft
- Bring paint colours you like to the design visit
A soft, damp cloth is the best way to keep the storage clean. Avoid scourers and harsh cleaners. Handles and drawer edges pick up marks first.
Loft rooms can be warm in summer and cool in winter. A little ventilation helps. That keeps the storage and the paint in good order.
Where other trades come in
It’s useful to know what’s outside our work before you plan:
- Loft conversions, which we don’t carry out
- Altering the structure of the loft
- Any wiring, which needs an electrician
Not sure whether your space suits loft storage? You can drop us a line using the contact form and we’ll tell you before you arrange a visit. Our process from visit to fitting.
What it’s made from
- Birch plywood
- Eaves doors and drawers
- Moisture-resistant MDF
- Spray-painted finish
- Sloped wardrobe tops
- Hand-painted finish
Made for the room, or bought in a box?
Off-the-shelf wardrobes often don’t fit up narrow loft stairs. Our storage is made in sections sized for the route. It means a full wardrobe can still reach the room. Standalone furniture leaves gaps behind and above it that gather dust, and fitted furniture closes them, which makes cleaning simpler.
Getting to the room affects the job as well. Narrow halls, tight stairs or a small lift may mean the furniture is made in more sections. Every piece is quoted for your room after the design visit.
Why choose us
- Made for your room, not a standard size
- Edges scribed to follow your walls
- A spray or hand-painted finish
- Built in our workshop and fitted in your home
Questions we’re often asked
Is Hounslow in the area you cover for loft storage?
Yes. We cover the whole of London, all 32 boroughs and the City of London. The first step is a design visit, where we measure and talk through the design, and then we send a quote.
Will parking be an issue for fitting furniture in Hounslow?
It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor’s permit, a paid parking bay or a bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. It is useful to tell us about parking during the design visit.
Can I send photos before the visit?
Yes. They give us a feel for the space before we visit. Show anything the furniture has to work around, such as radiators or sockets.
How long will the loft storage fitting take?
How long the fitting takes depends on how much storage you want in the loft, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Every part is made at our workshop before we arrive. If you’d like the fitting on a Saturday, that can be arranged.
Do I need to be in when you fit?
Someone needs to be there to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work, but it helps to be around at the end.
What happens at the design visit?
We measure the space and discuss the design, materials and finish. We look at the walls, floors and anything the furniture has to work around, and the written quote comes afterwards.

Fitted storage in Hounslow
Homes built since 2000 make up about 30% of the housing in the area around Hounslow, with about 27% built between 1919 and 1939, based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. Knowing roughly when a home was built helps, because walls and fixings change from one era to the next. Near the centre of Hounslow, Historic England’s list includes Worton Hall (Grade II), under half a mile south-east, and Church of St Mary the Virgin (Grade II), less than half a mile east. For a listed home, works inside that affect its character may need listed building consent from the council, for example removing or fixing into original panelling. An early word with the council’s conservation officer is the best first step. On TfL’s red routes, the rules on stopping and loading are strict. If you live on or close to a main road in Hounslow, let us know during the design visit. We will plan where the van can stop.
If you live in a period home close to Church of St Mary the Virgin, eaves cupboards in a converted loft are scribed to slopes that are rarely even. If you live in a flat close to Hounslow station, the route in is measured along with the room itself, and the sections are sized to fit it. If you live near Inwood Park, eaves cupboards can be designed to hold outdoor kit, from walking boots to picnic things.

Flat-pack or bespoke?
Shop-bought shelves can sag over a long span. Span, depth and the weight on it decide whether a shelf sags, so a long run needs a thicker shelf, a stiffening lip or a support. We design shelves with that in mind.
Off-the-shelf furniture can be a sensible choice. If the walls are straight and the space suits standard sizes, it often does the job, and it’s easy to buy.
What happens on fitting day
At the end, we tidy up and lift the floor protection. Before we leave, we go over the finished piece together and explain how to look after the paint. How long fitting takes depends on the length of the eaves and the design, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Fitting day means joining the sections, fitting them to the walls and setting them level. Fixings are chosen for the wall, whether brick, block, lath and plaster or plasterboard. Saturday fitting is possible by arrangement.
- It starts when you contact us about storage in your loft.
- At the design visit, we look at the slopes, the eaves and the way up.
- Your quote sets out the design, the materials and the finish.
- We make the cupboards and drawers in our workshop, cut to the slope.
- The storage is fitted and set level, ready to fill.
Preparing the room
- If you live in a block, book the lift and tell the building manager
- Have your electrician move any sockets or switches beforehand
- Leave a clear route from the front door to the room
How to get a quote
If you already have something in mind, tell us; if you don’t, that is fine, and we can work it out together. At the design visit, we measure up and talk the design through with you, and the written quote then sets it out. To start, tell us about the room on our contact form.
