Walk-in wardrobes designed for your room

How we price walk-in wardrobes

The price for your room depends on:

  • Spray painting or hand painting
  • How big the furniture is
  • Access to the room, such as stairs, lifts and narrow halls
  • Awkward walls, sloping ceilings and uneven floors

There’s no price list: each design is priced in writing after we’ve seen the space. Size, the number of doors and drawers and the internal fittings make the biggest difference to the price.

Getting in touch

These details help when you contact us:

  • Where you live, with the postcode
  • Any ideas or images you have saved
  • Pictures showing the full wall, from floor to ceiling
  • Approximate measurements of the space

If you already have something in mind, tell us; if not, we can work it out together at the visit. At the design visit, we measure up and talk the design through with you, and the written quote then sets it out. To start, use our contact form.

How we make walk-in wardrobes for St Pancras

Our walk-in wardrobes are made for homes in St Pancras and all over London. It starts with a design visit to measure and plan the layout, then a written quote. Once agreed, we make the units in our workshop and fit them in your home. The time the fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote, so you’ll know before we start. Typical reasons to get in touch are long and double hanging planned around your clothes and turning a box room into a dressing room, and the answer is made at our workshop from birch ply and moisture-resistant MDF, painted by hand or sprayed.

Purpose-built flats are home to most households around St Pancras, and blocks often have rules on lift booking, deliveries and working hours. It’s useful to check those with the managing agent before fitting day. A leasehold flat may need consent for fixing to walls, so check your lease first.

The quote comes in writing, so there is time to read it properly and share it with anyone else involved. It covers the design, materials and finish agreed at the visit.

Bedroom storage in St Pancras

The biggest shares of homes in the streets around St Pancras were built before 1919 (about 41%) and since 2000 (about 19%), according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). For carpentry, the era of a house is a useful clue to how square its rooms are and what its walls are made of. Part of St Pancras is in the Bloomsbury Conservation Area, one of the conservation areas recorded by Historic England. Fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission in a conservation area, as the controls are mainly about the outside of buildings. Your council can advise if you are unsure. Streets close to central London are often narrow and busy, with loading bays in short supply, so the route from the van to your door is planned ahead of time.

For an older house near Lumen United Reformed Church, tall ceilings give walk-in wardrobes room to reach the cornice. Dr Johnson's House, about 0.9 miles south-east, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. For a period home anywhere nearby, tall ceilings give walk-in wardrobes room to reach the cornice. If your home is as old as some of the listed buildings nearby, like Church of St Pancras, original features like shutters, panelling and fireplaces are worth designing around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features.

St Pancras is within the London Borough of Camden. Wherever you are in St Pancras, the process is the same: a design visit, a written quote, furniture made at our workshop and fitting in your home. St Pancras is one of 28 places on our list for Camden.

Made for the room, or bought in a box?

A bespoke walk-in wardrobe takes more planning than buying a system, and it costs more. What you get is storage designed for what you own and the space you have. Standalone furniture takes up floor without using the height of the room. Built-in pieces use the full height and the awkward corners, leaving more floor clear.

Getting to the room affects the job as well. Several flights of stairs, a small lift or a narrow hall can mean smaller sections and more carrying. There’s no price list: each design is priced in writing after we’ve seen the space.

Read our comparison of bespoke and off-the-shelf and what a quote should include.

Bespoke or off-the-shelf?

Flat-pack and off-the-shelf furniture has its place. If the walls are straight and the space suits standard sizes, it often does the job, and it’s easy to buy.

What you pay for with bespoke is mainly the fit: edges scribed to the wall, a level base on a sloping floor and a neat line where the furniture meets the ceiling. Off-the-shelf furniture cannot usually do that in an older room.

Common questions about walk-in wardrobes

Is parking a problem for fitting in St Pancras?

It can be: much of inner London is covered by controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor permit, a pay-and-display bay or a suspended bay, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the measuring visit.

My home in St Pancras is a flat. How do you get the furniture in?

At the design visit, we measure the way in not just the room. The furniture is made in sections that fit the stairs and lift, and put together in the room. If your building has rules on lift booking or working hours, or your lease needs consent for alterations, it’s worth checking those early.

How are walk-in wardrobes priced?

Every piece is quoted for your room after the design visit. Each walk-in wardrobe is different, so we price it after the design visit. To get started, fill in our short enquiry form.

Do I need to be in when you fit?

We need access, so someone has to let us in. After that, you do not need to stay in the room.

Is it better to have doors or open storage?

There’s no single right answer. Doors, open rails and shelves can all be combined, and we go through the options when we measure.

Is the furniture spray painted or hand painted?

There are two options: a spray finish from the workshop, which is smooth and even, or hand painting, which can be done in your home. The finish is agreed in your quote.

From workshop to your room

Furniture made in a workshop still has to meet the room it is going into, and that happens on fitting day. Few walls in older London homes are truly flat or square, so we scribe the edges by hand to follow the wall. How long the fitting itself takes depends on the room and how much is fitted into it, and your quote sets out the fitting days. Parking near blocks of flats can be limited, and loading may need planning, so details of bays, permits or a loading area help. The sections are assembled in the flat and fixed to suit the walls. Saturday fitting is possible by prior arrangement.

  1. You get in touch with a few details about the room. A line on how you will use the room helps.
  2. We visit, measure and talk through hanging, shoe storage and a dressing table.
  3. A written quote is sent to you.
  4. Everything is made in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
  5. The walk-in wardrobe is fitted in your home. Each unit is set level and scribed to the walls.

How to prepare

  • Clear the walls of pictures and shelves
  • Point out meters, boilers and fuse boards near the furniture
  • Book any lift and let the concierge or building manager know
