TV and media units in Beckton: what you get
TV units are made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood in our workshop. The finish is spray painted in the workshop or hand painted, in the colour you prefer. We fit across Newham and the rest of London, after a design visit and a quote in writing. If you’re living with wasted space around the screen and boxes with no ventilation, TV and media units made from birch ply and moisture-resistant MDF, painted by hand or sprayed can solve it.
Open-plan living is usual in homes built since 2000, and around Beckton many homes date from those years. TV and media units can give the sitting end of an open-plan room its own identity. Floors are protected throughout, as newer finishes mark easily.
After the design visit, we send you a written quote. It describes the design we discussed, the materials and the finish, so you know exactly what you are getting.

Why bespoke in Beckton?
Off-the-shelf TV units come in a few set colours. We paint ours in the colour you choose. Large off-the-shelf pieces can make a small room feel smaller, while fitted furniture, painted in a colour that suits the walls, reads as part of the room.
Awkward rooms take more time: walls that lean, floors that slope and sloping ceilings all mean more scribing and cutting. The quote allows for it, written once we have measured up.
What you get with us

- Made for your room, not a standard size
- Every London borough and the City of London covered
- Made in our workshop, then fitted in your home

What we don’t do
Before you plan the job, it helps to know what we don’t do:
- Repairing plaster or redecorating
- Connecting the TV signal or internet
- Taking out a fireplace or chimney breast
If you are not sure what’s possible in your room, you can use our contact form and we will give you a straight answer before you arrange a visit. How it works.
What goes into it
- Hand-painted finish
- Cable routes
- Birch plywood
- Spray-painted finish
- Ventilated cabinets
- Moisture-resistant MDF
Fitting day, step by step
Getting everything level comes first. Where the floor slopes, we bring the furniture up to level on adjustable feet or a plinth, which keeps the lines straight. Only then is it fixed to the wall, with fixings chosen to suit brick, lath and plaster or plasterboard. Stud walls can carry pipes and cables, so we check before drilling, and heavy pieces are fixed into the studs or stand on the floor. Other trades handle any new sockets or plumbing.

Starting with a design visit
A quote begins with a few details from you: which room it is, rough sizes and a couple of photos if you can take them. When you’re ready, send us a few details through our contact form. After that, we arrange a visit to measure and go through the design, then send a written quote.

Flats, conversions and leaseholders
If you live in a flat, getting the furniture in is planned from the start. At the design visit, we measure the stairs, the landings, any lift and the doors, so the furniture can be made in sections that fit through without a struggle.
We also make and fit furniture for landlords furnishing a let. The materials are the same as for any home: moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.

We measure the room, check how level the walls and floors are and talk through the design with you. We will also ask about access and parking, and afterwards we send a written quote.
Tips worth knowing
The finish lasts best with a little care. Here are our suggestions:
- Decide whether the TV will be wall-mounted or stand on the unit
- Talk to your electrician early about sockets
- Tell us about parking and access during the design visit
- Note the size of each box and speaker
A soft, slightly damp cloth is all painted surfaces need. Avoid abrasive pads and strong sprays, which can mark the finish.
Don’t let clutter build up against the unit’s vents as things change.
