Need TV and media units in Peckham?
From workshop to your room
When the fitting is done, we tidy the room and lift the floor protection. Before we go, we look over the finished furniture with you. How long the fitting takes depends on the size of the unit and the cable routes planned into it, and the fitting days are set out in your quote. Parking varies a lot across London, from permit zones to private bays, so tell us what applies at the design visit. If you live in a flat, any lift or building rules are worth checking too.
- You get in touch and list what the unit has to take: the screen, boxes, consoles and speakers.
- We visit to measure up, note where the sockets are and plan how the cables will run.
- A written quote follows for the unit.
- We build the unit in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, leaving routes for cables and gaps for air.
- We fit it in your home and leave the cable routes ready for you to use.
Before we arrive
- Take anything hanging off the wall we are fitting to
- Let us know if your street is in a controlled parking zone
- Clear the area where the furniture is going
Arranging a design visit
We quote once we have seen the room. We measure the space, check the walls and floors and discuss what you’d like, and the written quote comes after. The price comes in a written quote, worked out from the measurements and the design you choose. To arrange a visit, fill in our short enquiry form.
Advice
TV and media units for homes in Peckham
Speakers need space to be heard properly. A soundbar typically sits just below the TV. Speakers work best in the open rather than behind closed doors, so we plan open spaces for them. If your home has a TV stand that doesn’t fit the wall and nowhere good for speakers, that’s what TV and media units are for, made from birch plywood and moisture-resistant MDF with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish.
Windows, doors, radiators and sockets decide where furniture can and can’t go. Whatever kind of home you have in Peckham, TV and media units are planned around those first. After that, the mix of cupboards, shelves and open space follows how you live, and the paint colour is agreed with you.
The written quote is your record of the job. It sets out the TV unit designed for your room, what it is made from and how it is finished, and it’s what the workshop builds to.

Boards, parts and paint
Doors and drawer fronts
Cupboard doors keep equipment out of sight, with openings or gaps where air needs to move.
Plinths and scribe strips
Scribing trims the edges on site to follow the wall, so there is no gap.
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
Standard units come in set widths and heights, so there is often a strip of wasted space at the side or above. Furniture we make is built to the room’s own sizes, so it can run to the ceiling and fill the width.
Shop-bought shelves can sag over a long span. Span, depth and the weight on it decide whether a shelf sags, so a long run needs a thicker shelf, a stiffening lip or a support. We design shelves with that in mind.
TV and media units for homes in Peckham
In the streets around Peckham, the largest groups of homes date from before 1919 (about 39%) and the years since 2000 (about 21%), based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. Each era brings its own kind of wall, ceiling height and floor, so it shapes the design from the first measurement. The Rye Lane Peckham Conservation Area is close by, within about a quarter of a mile of the centre of Peckham. Conservation area rules mainly cover the outside of buildings, so fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. Your council can advise if you’re unsure. The ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) now covers the whole of London, Southwark included. It applies to every van that comes to fit furniture in Peckham. We go through parking and access at the measuring visit.
For a family home near John Donne Primary School, shelving with deep cupboards below keeps books, games and school things in one place. Near listed buildings like Southwark Adult Education Institute, less than half a mile east of the centre of Peckham, older homes may keep original joinery that TV and media units can be designed around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features. If you live near Brimmington Park, shelving that stops short of the window keeps the view of the green.

Questions we are often asked
My home in Peckham is a flat. How do you get the furniture in?
We measure the route in not just the room: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. TV and media units are made at our workshop in sections sized to fit that route, then assembled in your flat. It’s useful to check any building rules and your lease before fitting day.
Can you fit furniture in a home close to Queens Road Peckham station?
Yes. We cover all of Southwark and the rest of London. To get started, you can fill in our short enquiry form with some details about the room.
Will the cables be hidden?
That’s the aim, and it’s planned from the start. Access panels make future changes easy without taking the unit apart. For a wall-mounted TV, a route behind the screen is planned in.
Can I send photos ahead of the visit?
Yes. They give us a feel for the space before we visit. Show anything the furniture has to work around, such as radiators or sockets.
Can the TV unit fit a bigger TV later?
We can plan the opening with a bigger screen in mind, if you expect to upgrade. Mention the largest screen you might buy when we visit.
Does the unit work if the TV is on a bracket?
We can plan for either a wall-mounted TV or one standing on the unit. If the TV is wall-mounted, panels and shelves are arranged around the bracket and cables, and if it stands on the unit we size the top for it.
Flats, conversions and leaseholders
Leaseholders should check the lease before anything is fixed to the walls. Some leases need the building owner’s consent for alterations, and that’s best sorted before fitting day. We can’t advise on your lease, so check it yourself or ask your managing agent.
If your building is on a red route or a busy main road, getting the furniture from the van to the door needs planning. Red routes are run by TfL and have strict stopping rules, so let us know about it during the design visit.
