Walk-in wardrobes in Peckham
Our walk-in wardrobes are made for homes in Peckham and all over London. It starts with a design visit to measure and plan the layout, followed by a quote. Once agreed, we make the units in our workshop and fit them in your home. How long fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote, so you’ll know before we start. We make walk-in wardrobes from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand, and the things people most often want solved are more space for clothes and shoes and a calmer, clearer bedroom.
Where housing is mixed, as in much of London, bedrooms can be anything from a box room to a big front room. Fitted furniture can suit each, sized and laid out for the room. Nothing is assumed to be square, so the room is measured carefully.
A written quote follows the design visit. It sets out the design we’ve talked through, the materials and the finish, so you know exactly what you are getting.

How we price walk-in wardrobes
When we put a quote together, we consider:
- The number of doors and drawers
- Stairs, lifts and the route to the room
- The width and height of the space
- Where a van can park, like a permit bay or a bay suspension
Rooms that aren’t square take more work: uneven walls, sloping floors and angled ceilings all add scribing and cutting on site. The quote allows for it, written once we’ve measured up.
Before the design visit
Before the design visit, it helps us to know about:
- Approximate measurements of the space
- Your postcode and the borough
- Pictures showing the full wall, from floor to ceiling
- Any ideas or images you’ve saved
To get a quote, message us from the contact page and tell us which room you have in mind and what you want the furniture to do. From there, we arrange a design visit to measure up and talk through your ideas, and a quote in writing follows.
Bespoke walk-in wardrobes or ready-made?
If you’re likely to move soon, standalone furniture you can take with you may suit better. How long you’ll stay is worth weighing up before choosing fitted. A standard unit is the same in every home, whatever the room is like, whereas fitted pieces are designed for one room: yours. The finish is chosen to suit the space.
Getting to the room affects the job as well. Several flights of stairs, a small lift or a narrow hall can mean smaller sections and more carrying. Every piece is quoted for your room after the design visit.
What you get with us
- Moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood
- Saturday work by prior arrangement
- A spray or hand-painted finish
- Fitted tight to walls that aren’t straight
Walk-in wardrobes for homes in Peckham
In the area around Peckham, the largest groups of homes date from before 1919 (about 39%) and the years since 2000 (about 21%), on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. That matters for walk-in wardrobes, as the build era decides whether a wall is solid brick, lath and plaster, block or plasterboard. There are 75 entries on the National Heritage List within half a mile of the centre of Peckham. Original fireplaces, shutters and panelling are worth keeping where they survive, and walk-in wardrobes can be designed to work around them. All of London, Southwark included, is inside the ULEZ. Vans bringing furniture to Peckham fall under it, just as they do across the rest of London. We go through parking and access at the measuring visit.
Near listed buildings like Southwark Adult Education Institute, less than half a mile east of the centre of Peckham, older homes may keep original joinery that walk-in wardrobes can be designed around. For a listed home, fixing into original features can require listed building consent. For an older house near All Saints Church, tall ceilings give walk-in wardrobes room to reach the cornice. The wider area includes historic houses such as Queen's House, about 2.6 miles east. For a period home anywhere nearby, tall ceilings give walk-in wardrobes room to reach the cornice.
Peckham is in the London Borough of Southwark, about 1 mile south-west of East Dulwich. Design visits and fitting in Peckham can be on a Saturday, by arrangement. Our Southwark coverage includes Peckham and the places around it.

How it’s made
Birch plywood
Drawer boxes take daily use, so we make them strong.
Hanging rails
Two rails stacked one above the other suit shirts, jackets and trousers.
Flats, conversions and lettings
If you live in a flat, getting the furniture in is planned from the start. We measure the stairs, landings, lift and doorways as well as the room, so the furniture can be made in sections that fit through without a struggle.
If your flat is leasehold, check your lease before fixing furniture to the walls. A lease can require consent from the building owner for alterations, and that is best sorted before fitting day. We can’t advise on your lease.

FAQs: walk-in wardrobes in Peckham
Can parking be tricky on fitting day in Peckham?
It can be: much of inner London is covered by controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor permit, a pay-and-display bay or a suspended bay, which the council arranges, often with notice. It is useful to tell us about parking during the design visit.
Do you make walk-in wardrobes for homes in Peckham?
Yes, Peckham is within the area we cover, which takes in all of Southwark and the rest of London. The first step is a design visit, where we measure and go through the design, and then we send a quote.
What happens when you come to measure?
We take full measurements, look at the walls and floors and work through the design together. Access and parking are worth talking about too.
Should I send pictures?
Yes. Pictures help us understand the room before the design visit, along with rough measurements. Show anything the furniture has to work around, such as radiators or sockets.
How much does a walk-in wardrobe cost?
There’s no price list: each design is priced in writing after we’ve seen the space. The size of the room, the layout and the finish all make a difference. To arrange a design visit, get in touch through our contact form.
Do walk-in wardrobes need ventilation?
Yes. A room full of clothes needs air moving through it, particularly against a cooler external wall. The units are designed with ventilation in mind.
How fitting day works
Fitting day follows a set order: we protect the floors, bring the sections in, set them level, scribe them to the walls, fix them and finish them. Then the room is tidied and we look over the work with you. How long the fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. It’s useful to clear the room and the route in before fitting day, including anything on the walls near the work. We cover floors and doorways first. Then the sections come in and are joined in place.
- First, you let us know about the space and how you dress.
- We come to measure the room and go through how the space should work.
- We send a quote that sets out the layout, materials and finish, for you to read through.
- Everything is made and finished in our workshop.
- The units are fitted in your home and trimmed to follow the walls. A hand-painted finish, if you chose one, is done on site.
Before we arrive
- Clear the hallway and stairs so the sections can come through
- Move furniture and belongings away from the wall
- Tell us about any meters, fuse boards or boilers in the area
Arranging a design visit
Because every job is different, the cost is set out in a written quote after the visit. Because every room is different, the quote comes after the design visit, when we’ve measured up and talked through the design. For a quote, send us a few details through our contact form.
