Walk-in wardrobes designed for your room
Fitting day, step by step
Fitting day follows a set order: floors are protected, the sections come in, everything is levelled, scribed to the walls, fixed and finished. At the end, we tidy up and go over the work with you. How long the fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. On the day, floors are covered first and the sections brought in. Each piece is levelled and fixed to suit plasterboard or block. Any hand painting can be finished on site.

How we make walk-in wardrobes for Cyprus
Some people want doors on everything; others like open shelves and rails. Doors keep dust off and give a calm look, while open storage lets you see everything at once. The choice is yours, and we will go through it when we measure. If your home has separate space for two people’s clothes and a dressing area in part of a bedroom, that’s what walk-in wardrobes are for, made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, spray-painted or hand-painted.
Many homes around Cyprus have been built since 2000, and in newer homes, bedrooms tend to be compact, with plasterboard stud walls. Walk-in wardrobes are fixed into the studs or held by fixings made for the board. Any built-in cupboard that came with the home can be replaced or extended to match.
The quote names the materials: moisture-resistant MDF, birch plywood or both, depending on the design. It also says how the furniture will be finished: spray painted or hand painted.

Caring for painted furniture
These points come up often when people plan walk-in wardrobes. They help before and after fitting:
- Plan lighting with your electrician
- Have a clear-out before we measure
- Let air move through the space
- Consider a mix of doors and open shelves
We adjust doors and drawers as part of the fitting. Walls and floors shift slightly through the year, and hinges can be adjusted to keep the gaps even.
It helps to know what you will keep before we measure. We plan the layout around your clothes, so it is worth having a sort-out first.
Flats, conversions and lettings
We also make and fit furniture for landlords furnishing a let. It’s made from the same moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood as any of our work, with a spray or hand-painted finish.
Some blocks ask for notice before trades arrive, often through a building manager or concierge. Lifts sometimes need to be booked, and the lift size helps decide how big each section can be. Tell us about it when you get in touch.
Could you do it yourself?
Bespoke work comes into its own in rooms that aren’t square. In period homes, walls lean, floors slope and the alcoves on each side are often different widths.
Shop-bought shelves can sag over a long span. Span, depth and the weight on it decide whether a shelf sags, so a long run needs a thicker shelf, a stiffening lip or a support. We design shelves with that in mind.
Walk-in wardrobes for homes in Cyprus
In the neighbourhood around Cyprus, the largest groups of homes date from between 1973 and 1999 (about 44%) and the years since 2000 (about 42%), on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how walk-in wardrobes are fixed and fitted. Entries on the National Heritage List near the centre of Cyprus include Gallions Hotel (Grade II*), about 0.5 miles south-east, and Central Buffet at Custom House (Grade II), under half a mile west. If you live in a listed building, fixing into or taking out original features such as panelling can need listed building consent. An early word with the council’s conservation officer is the best first step. About 42% of homes in the area around Cyprus were built since 2000, in the VOA’s 2025 council tax stock figures. Bedrooms in homes built since 2000 tend to be compact, with stud walls, so fitted furniture is fixed to suit the board.
The wider area includes historic houses like Eastbury Manor House, about 2.3 miles north-east. If your own home is a period one, a bedroom chimney breast and its alcoves often shape where walk-in wardrobes go. If you live in a flat close to Woolwich station, the route in is measured not just the room, and the sections are sized to fit it. If your children go to Winsor Primary School or a school nearby, a mix of drawers and shelves copes with school uniform as well as everything else.

Made for the room, or bought in a box?
Choosing bespoke means a design visit, a quote, workshop time and fitting, as well as a bigger outlay. In return, the layout is built around your clothes and your room. Standalone furniture fixed to plasterboard needs the right fixings, and often does not get them. Fitted furniture is planned with fixings into the studs or made for the board, and heavy pieces can stand on the floor.
Rooms that aren’t square take more work: uneven walls, sloping floors and angled ceilings all add scribing and cutting on site. That is reflected in the quote, written once we have measured up.
Why us?
- Fitted tight to walls that aren’t straight
- Workshop-made and fitted by us
- Designed for the room you have

Questions from Cyprus
Can parking be tricky on fitting day in Cyprus?
It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a parking bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the design visit.
I live in a flat in Cyprus. How will the furniture get up the stairs?
At the design visit, we measure the way in along with the room itself. Walk-in wardrobes are made in our workshop in sections sized to fit that route, then assembled in your flat. It helps to check any building rules and your lease before fitting day.
Do I need to be in when you fit?
Someone needs to be there to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work, but it helps to be around at the end.
Do you do the electrics?
No. Electrical work is not something we do; it’s a job for your electrician. We can allow for cable routes in the design, and any new sockets are best done before fitting day.
What happens when you come to measure?
We take full measurements, look at the walls and floors and work through the design together. Access and parking are worth talking about too, and a written quote follows.
Can you build a dressing area in my bedroom?
Yes. We design the units to make a dressing area within the bedroom, and we fit the furniture once any building work is done.
