Kitchens in period houses bring their own challenges. Few walls are flat, and floors often fall away from the walls, which shows up quickly along a run of cabinets. We scribe the cabinets to the walls and set them level on adjustable feet or a plinth, so the worktop you choose can sit level. If you’re living with open shelves with cupboards below and a pantry cupboard with shelves and drawers, that is what kitchens are for, made from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish.
In many homes built since 2000, the kitchen runs along one wall of the living space. Around Cyprus, many homes date from 2000 onwards, and a run like that works harder with tall cupboards taken to the ceiling. You choose the worktop, sink and appliances.

Before and after fitting day
A little care keeps the finish looking good, whether it was spray painted or hand painted. Here are our suggestions:
- Give the paint time to cure fully
- Pick the oven, fridge and dishwasher first
- Line up your plumber, electrician and Gas Safe registered engineer early
- Have damp sorted before fitting

How do you fit bespoke kitchens in a flat in Cyprus?
We measure the route in as well as the room: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. The furniture is made in sections that fit the stairs and lift, and put together in the room. If your building has rules on lift booking or working hours, or your lease needs consent for alterations, it’s worth checking those early.
I live near Woolwich station. Is that in your area?

Do I need to be at home on fitting day?
We need someone to let us in at the start of the day. It also helps to have someone around at the end, so we can go over the finished furniture together.
Can you build an island in my kitchen?
If the room is big enough, yes. At the design visit we check the clearances around it. If it would crowd the kitchen, we will say so.
Is an outside wall a problem for fitted furniture?
External walls can be colder and damper than internal ones, so ventilation behind and inside the furniture helps to avoid condensation. Any damp needs sorting by the right specialist before fitting.
Do you supply the worktop and appliances?
You choose the worktop, sink and appliances, and we design the cabinets around them. The materials and finish are agreed in your quote.
What we do not do
Not everything around bespoke kitchens is carpentry, from an electrician to a plumber or a Gas Safe registered engineer. Here is what to bear in mind:

From workshop to your room
Fitting day follows a set order: floors are protected, the sections come in, everything is levelled, scribed to the walls, fixed and finished. Then the room is tidied and we look over the work with you. How long the fitting takes depends on how many units there are and how the room is laid out, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Newer homes often have stud walls, so on fitting day heavy pieces go into the studs or stand on the floor. Floors are protected throughout, as many newer homes have finished floors that mark easily, and dust is kept to a minimum.
