Walk-in wardrobes designed for your room
How fitting day works
You are welcome to ask questions while we work. Most of the decisions were made at the design visit and set out in your quote, so fitting day is about putting it in place carefully and leaving everything tidy. How long the fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. On fitting day, the sections are carried in, assembled, scribed to the wall and levelled. Spray-painted pieces come finished from the workshop, while hand painting can happen on site. Saturday fitting is possible by prior arrangement.
- We start with the room you have in mind and what needs a home.
- We come to measure the room and go through how the space should work.
- You get a written quote for the design we have agreed.
- Everything is made and finished in our workshop.
- We bring everything to your home and fit it to the room. A hand-painted finish, if you chose one, is done on site.
How to prepare
- Take down pictures, mirrors and shelves from the wall
- Clear the hallway and stairs so the sections can come through
- Point out meters, boilers and fuse boards near the furniture
Arranging a design visit
To make a start, send us a few details through our contact form and tell us a little about the room and what you want the furniture to do. We then arrange a design visit to measure and go through the design, and a quote in writing follows.
Advice
How we make walk-in wardrobes for Eastcote
Hanging space is the heart of most walk-in wardrobes. Long hanging suits coats and dresses, and two rails stacked one above the other suit shirts, jackets and trousers. The balance of long and double hanging is based on your clothes. Most enquiries start with a walk-in wardrobe within the bedroom and a built-in dressing table; the furniture is made from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish.
Bedrooms in interwar houses often have a picture rail but a plainer ceiling than a Victorian room, so fitted furniture can often run neatly to the ceiling. If yours is one of the interwar houses or semis that make up much of the housing around Eastcote, high cupboards make a good home for suitcases and spare bedding. Skirting boards are cut around neatly.
Materials are named in the quote: moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, each used where it suits the job. The finish is stated too, whether that is spray painting or hand painting.

Walk-in wardrobes in Eastcote: local notes
In the neighbourhood around Eastcote, the largest groups of homes date from between 1919 and 1939 (about 55%) and between 1945 and 1972 (about 24%), according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). It’s a good starting point, though every room is still measured, as two homes of the same age rarely match. Part of Eastcote is in a conservation area, according to Historic England’s records. Planning controls in conservation areas are mainly concerned with the outside of buildings, so fitting furniture inside a house does not normally need permission. If you want to be certain, ask the council’s planning team. TfL’s red routes have strict stopping rules. If your home is on or just off a main road, it’s useful to mention it. Then we can work out where to load and unload.
For a flat near Headstone Lane station, it’s useful to book the lift and tell the concierge before fitting day. Near listed buildings like Cheney Farmhouse, less than half a mile north-west of the centre of Eastcote, older homes may keep original joinery that walk-in wardrobes can be designed around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features. For a family home near Cannon Lane Primary School, hanging rails set low at first can be raised later, as children get taller.
Eastcote is within the London Borough of Harrow, about 2 miles east of Harrow. Wherever you are in Eastcote, it works the same way: a design visit, a written quote, furniture made at our workshop and fitting in your home. Eastcote is one of 20 places on our list for Harrow.

Flats, conversions and lettings
A lot of London’s terraced houses are now converted flats, and that often means a shared hallway and a tight turn on the stairs. We plan the size of each section around it.
If you live in a flat, getting the furniture in is planned from the start. At the design visit, we measure the stairs, the landings, any lift and the doors, so the furniture can be made in sections that fit through.
Looking after your furniture
The finish lasts best with a little care, whether it was spray painted or hand painted. These practical tips help:
- Make sure walls are dry before units go in
- Count your shoes before the design visit
- Keep the room ventilated
- Plan lighting with your electrician
Keep the room ventilated, particularly if it is on an external wall. Avoid packing clothes tight against the back of the units, so air can circulate.
Leasehold flats can have rules about alterations, so check your lease early. We cannot advise on your lease.
