Bespoke kitchens for homes in Eastcote
Homes built between 1919 and 1939 make up about 55% of the housing in the streets around Eastcote, with about 24% built between 1945 and 1972, going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. For carpentry, the era of a house is a useful clue to how square its rooms are and what its walls are made of. Within a mile of the centre of Eastcote, 4 conservation areas are recorded by Historic England. Historic England says England has around 10,000, and the controls mainly cover the outside of buildings, so fitted furniture inside a house does not normally need planning permission. About 71% of households in the area around Eastcote live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to Census 2021. In a semi or detached house, a driveway, where there is one, can make unloading easier.
Living in a block of flats near Headstone Lane station? Then the lift, the stair turns and the front door all set the largest piece that can come in. If your home is as old as some of the listed buildings nearby, like Cheney Farmhouse, original features like shutters, panelling and fireplaces are worth designing around. If your own home is listed, check with the council before fixing into original features.
Eastcote is in the London Borough of Harrow, about 2 miles east of Harrow. Our work covers every London borough and the City of London, Eastcote included. Our Harrow coverage includes Eastcote and the places around it.
We make bespoke kitchens across the HA5, HA4 and HA2 postcode area. We cover homes on streets like Hill Road, Bridle Road and Cannon Lane, for bespoke kitchens and any of our other fitted furniture. We also cover the places around Eastcote: Pinner (1 mile north), Roxbourne (1 mile south-east), Pinner Green (1 mile north), Rayners Lane (1 mile south-east) and North Harrow (1 mile east). Other parts of Harrow we cover include Stanmore (4 miles north-east), Harrow Weald (3 miles north-east), Wealdstone (3 miles east), Little Stanmore (5 miles east), Greenhill (2 miles east) and South Harrow (2 miles south-east).
Local landmarks in Eastcote

A little further out are Heath Robinson Museum (0.6 miles north) and Northwood and Pinner Cottage Hospital (1.7 miles north-west).
Bespoke kitchens for homes in Eastcote
We’re carpenters, so we make and fit the cabinets, while other trades handle the services. Your plumber, a Gas Safe engineer and your electrician do the plumbing, gas and electrics, so the design allows for pipes, cables and connections. If you are living with a layout for a small or awkward room and cabinets that suit lean and sloping walls, that’s what kitchens are for, made from MDF made to resist moisture and birch plywood, then spray-painted or hand-painted.
Knocked-through kitchen-diners in older semis sometimes keep a chimney breast, which can frame a dresser or tall cupboards. If yours is one of the interwar houses or semis that make up much of the housing around Eastcote, that is a feature worth designing around. A blocked chimney still needs ventilating, and damp is sorted first.
Everything we agree at the measuring visit goes into the written quote: the layout and internal fittings, the materials and the finish. If you’d like to change anything, it’s easier before the furniture is made.

What affects the cost of bespoke kitchens
Not every room costs the same, and it comes down to:
- How square the room is
- Where a van can park, such as a permit bay or a bay suspension
- The internal fittings
- The width and height of the space
Access to the room makes a difference too. Narrow halls, tight stairs or a small lift may mean the furniture is made in more sections, and that’s part of the price. We quote each job for the room it’s going into, after the design visit.
Before the design visit
You do not need exact measurements or a plan. It’s enough to send:
- Anything fixed to the wall that the furniture needs to work around
- Your postcode and the borough
- Any ideas or images you’ve saved
- How you want to use the space
For a quote for bespoke kitchens in Eastcote, fill in our short enquiry form. Let us know the room and the rough idea, plus any rough measurements. Next comes a design visit, followed by a quote in writing.
Why people ask for bespoke kitchens in Eastcote
Many people come to us because a standard kitchen does not suit their room. Off-the-shelf cabinets come in set widths, leaving gaps at the ends and above. A bespoke kitchen is made to the room from the start.
These come up often when people first get in touch:
- A painted dresser for the kitchen
- A central island in a larger kitchen
- Cabinets built around the appliances you choose
- Spray-painted or hand-painted cabinets
If your children go to Cannon Lane Primary School or a school nearby, a drawer set aside for lunch boxes and water bottles keeps mornings calmer.
Before you choose who makes it
- Will they visit to measure before quoting?
- Where they’ll park and unload
- Will other trades be needed, and who arranges them?
- Are the boards named, like MDF or plywood?
Flats, conversions and leaseholders
Many London terraces have been converted into flats, and that often means a shared hallway and a tight turn on the stairs. Each section is sized with that in mind, after measuring the route at the design visit.
If the property is let, we will need access agreed with the tenants. An agent can arrange access for you.
How it is made
Spray-painted finish
For a sleek look, spray painting works well, and it’s done before fitting.
Larder and dresser units
Larders and dressers can fill an alcove or end a run in a way standard units can’t.

Your questions about bespoke kitchens in Eastcote
Is parking a problem for fitting in Eastcote?
It depends on the street, as many London boroughs run controlled parking zones. A van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a parking bay suspension, which the council arranges, often with notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the measuring visit, so we can plan the day around it.
Do you make bespoke kitchens for homes in Eastcote?
Yes. We cover all of Harrow and the rest of London, and Eastcote is part of that. We start with a design visit to measure the room and talk through what you need, and then we send a quote.
How much time does fitting need?
How long the fitting takes depends on how many units there are and how the room is laid out, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. We’ll talk it through at the design visit.
Do you do the plumbing and electrics?
No. We’re carpenters, so we make and fit the cabinets. Your plumber, a Gas Safe engineer and your electrician do the plumbing, gas and electrics, and we design around where their work goes.
Do I choose the paint colour?
You do. We agree the colour with you before anything is painted.
Does fitted furniture need planning permission?
Not typically. Conservation area controls are mostly concerned with the outside of buildings, and fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. Listed buildings are different: check with the council’s conservation officer first.
What happens on fitting day
Before anything is fixed, we set the furniture level. Where the floor slopes, we bring the furniture up to level on adjustable feet or a plinth, and that keeps the doors and shelves true. Only then is it fixed to the wall, with fixings chosen to suit brick, lath and plaster or plasterboard. On fitting day, the sections are carried in, assembled, scribed to the wall and levelled. Hand-painted furniture can be finished on site; spray-painted pieces arrive finished from the workshop. Saturday fitting is possible by arrangement.
