Walk-in wardrobes for homes in Eden Park

Many London homes have a small room that’s tricky as a bedroom. Fitted out from wall to wall, it can take the clothes that crowd the bedroom, and the bedroom itself feels calmer. We plan the layout so you can stand, turn and see everything. Most enquiries start with more space for clothes and shoes and a walk-in wardrobe in a box room, and the answer is built in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand.

Bedrooms in interwar houses often have a picture rail but a plainer ceiling than a Victorian room, which makes it simple to take fitted furniture up to the ceiling. Around Eden Park, where interwar homes, semis and detached houses are a big part of the housing, the top cupboards can hold suitcases and spare bedding. Skirting boards are cut around neatly.

Everything we agree at the measuring visit goes into the written quote: the layout, what goes inside, the materials used and the finish. If you’d like to change anything, it is easier before the furniture is made.

What it costs

What it costs comes down to the materials and the time involved. The main factors are:

  • Walls and floors that are out of level or out of square
  • The width and height of the space
  • Parking near your home
  • Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside

There is no price list, because every piece is designed for one room. Instead, we measure, go through the design and then quote in writing, with the materials and finish set out. To start, drop us a line using the contact form.

Getting in touch

Before the design visit, it helps us to know about:

  • Examples of the look you’re after
  • The type of home and how the room is reached
  • Radiators, sockets, pipes or meters on or near the wall
  • What the furniture needs to hold

The quote is built from the design visit. We measure the room properly, check how the walls and floors run and discuss the design with you. A quote in writing follows the visit, so you can take your time with it. To book one, tell us about the room on our contact form.

Eden Park homes and walk-in wardrobes

In the area around Eden Park, the largest groups of homes date from between 1919 and 1939 (about 64%) and the years since 2000 (about 20%), according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). We take that into account at the measuring visit, since older and newer walls take different fixings. Entries on the National Heritage List near the centre of Eden Park include Oak Lodge (Grade II), about 0.5 miles south, and Langley Court Chapel (Grade II), about 0.5 miles north-east. For a listed home, internal works that affect its character can need listed building consent from the council, for instance removing or fixing into original panelling. It is worth speaking to the council’s conservation officer before the design is final. About 64% of homes in the neighbourhood around Eden Park date from between 1919 and 1939, based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. Houses from that era often have a box room over the stairs, with a raised bulkhead in the floor, which suits fitted storage made around its bulkhead.

Close to Millers Pond? Morning light matters, so tall pieces go where they won’t shade the window. For a flat near Eden Park station, check any building rules on lifts and working hours early, and the sections will be sized for the way in.

Questions we’re often asked

Can you fit furniture in a home close to Eden Park station?

Yes. We cover all of Bromley and the rest of London. To get started, you can message us from the contact page with a few details about the room.

Can you make walk-in wardrobes for a home in Eden Park?

Yes. Eden Park is one of the places we work, along with the rest of Bromley and London. To get started, you can use our contact form with some details.

Do walk-in wardrobes need ventilation?

Yes, it helps avoid condensation and mould. We design the units to let air move and walls should be dry before we fit.

What if the stairs or lift are small?

Getting it in is planned at the measuring visit. The stairs, landings, any lift and the doorways are measured, and each section is made to a size that will get through.

Can the fitting be on a Saturday?

Yes, Saturdays are possible by arrangement. Just mention it when you contact us, and we will see what we can do.

Do I need to be at home on fitting day?

Someone needs to let us in. It’s good to have someone there at the end to look over the work with us.

How fitting works for walk-in wardrobes

Every fitting follows the same order: we protect the floors, bring the sections in, set them level, scribe them to the walls, fix them and finish them. Then the room is tidied and we look over the work with you. How long the fitting takes depends on how much hanging, shelving and drawer space goes in, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. If you have a driveway, it can make unloading simpler, so it is worth mentioning at the design visit. Otherwise, a visitor permit or a nearby bay helps. Doorways, stairs and floors are covered on the way in.

  1. You tell us about the room.
  2. We come to measure and talk through the design.
  3. A quote in writing follows.
  4. The units are made in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood.
  5. We fit the units and trim the edges to meet the walls and ceiling.
  6. Before we leave we go through the doors and drawers with you; new paintwork needs gentle handling while it cures.

Before fitting day

  • Let us know about any meters, fuse boards or boilers in the area
  • Let us know about parking near your home
  • Clear the area where the furniture is going

Getting a quote

A quote begins with a few details from you: which room it is, rough sizes and a couple of photos if you can take them. To send them, send us a few details through our contact form. After that, we arrange a visit to measure and discuss the design, then send a written quote.

Advice

Flats, blocks and rented homes

In a managed block, the building manager or concierge may need notice before we arrive. If there is a lift, it may need booking, and its size matters when we plan the sections. Mention it when you get in touch.

Leaseholders should check the lease before anything is fixed to the walls. A lease can require consent from the building owner for alterations, and that is best sorted before fitting day. We can’t give advice on leases, so check it yourself or ask your managing agent.

Looking after your furniture

Because fitted furniture stays put, a little upkeep goes a long way. Here are a few tips worth knowing:

  • Make sure walls are dry before units go in
  • Let air move through the space
  • Consider a mix of doors and open shelves
  • Plan shoe storage around what you own

Let air move through the walk-in wardrobe, particularly on a cooler external wall. Leave a little space behind hanging clothes to help air move.

Before the design visit, sort through your clothes. We plan the layout around your clothes, so a clear-out first gives a better design.

Why people ask for walk-in wardrobes in Eden Park

Sharing one wardrobe between two rarely works for long. We can design separate areas for hanging, shelves and drawers, so both have room.

Typical reasons people contact us include:

  • A use for a small spare room
  • A built-in dressing table
  • Long and double hanging planned around your clothes
  • Moving wardrobes out of the bedroom

For families living near Langley Park School for Boys, hanging rails set low at first can be raised later, as children get taller.

Questions to ask before you hire anyone

  • Will they visit to measure before quoting?
  • How the furniture will be finished, and where
  • Real projects you can actually look at
  • Whether the route into your home has been checked
