Flats, blocks and rented homes
If the property is let, we will need access agreed with the tenants. A letting agent can arrange this on a landlord’s behalf, and the written quote can go to whoever needs it.
If your flat is leasehold, check your lease before fixing furniture to the walls. A lease can require consent from the building owner for alterations, which is worth sorting early. We can’t give advice on leases.
Fitted wardrobes in Eden Park: what you get
Some bedrooms suit wardrobes that wrap around the bed, with cupboards each side and a run of storage above the headboard. In other rooms, the units sit either side of a window. The layout is planned so the room doesn’t feel boxed in. If you’re living with clothes with nowhere proper to go and bedroom alcoves that could hold clothes, fitted wardrobes made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand can solve it.
Many 1930s houses have had a loft conversion, adding a bedroom under a sloping ceiling, and that slope can be used for storage built to the angle. Around Eden Park, interwar houses, semis and detached homes make up a large part of the housing. We work in lofts that are already converted, with each piece scribed to the slope and set level.
The quote comes in writing, so you can read it at your own pace and talk it over at home. It covers the design, materials and finish agreed at the visit.

How fitting works for fitted wardrobes
Period rooms often have skirting boards, picture rails, cornices or coving for the furniture to meet. We cut and scribe the furniture around them on site, so it sits neatly against the room. The time the fitting takes depends on the size of the wardrobes and the number of doors, and the fitting days are set out in your quote. Interwar houses usually have a straight run of stairs and a reasonable hallway, but the route in is still measured, not just the room. The furniture comes in sections and is put together where it is going.
- You describe the bedroom and the storage you need.
- A design visit follows, where we measure and agree the layout.
- We put the design, materials and finish into a quote in writing.
- We then make the wardrobes in our workshop.
- We bring them to your home and fit them in place.
Before we arrive
- Tell us about any meters, fuse boards or boilers in the area
- If you live in a block, book the lift and tell the building manager
- Let us know if your street is in a controlled parking zone

Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
Long shelves are where off-the-shelf often struggles. How much a shelf bends depends on its span, depth and load, and long runs need a thicker shelf, a lip along the front or a support. That’s something we plan for in the design.
Bespoke work comes into its own in rooms that are not square. Older London rooms tend to have leaning walls, sloping floors and alcoves of different widths, which leaves standard units with gaps at the sides and top.
Fitted wardrobes for homes in Eden Park
The biggest shares of homes in the area around Eden Park were built between 1919 and 1939 (about 64%) and since 2000 (about 20%), based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. Each era brings its own kind of wall, ceiling height and floor, so it shapes the design from the first measurement. Entries on the National Heritage List near the centre of Eden Park include Oak Lodge (Grade II), about 0.5 miles south, and Langley Court Chapel (Grade II), about 0.5 miles north-east. Listing covers the inside of a building as well as the outside, so works that affect a listed home’s character, like removing original joinery, can require listed building consent. Ask the council’s conservation officer before anything is fixed. More than half of the homes in the neighbourhood around Eden Park (about 64%) date from between 1919 and 1939, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax figures (2025). Many interwar houses have a small room over the stairs, a good spot for fitted furniture built around the bulkhead.
Bromley Palace, about 2.2 miles north-east, is one of the historic houses in the wider area. For a period home anywhere nearby, tall ceilings give fitted wardrobes room to reach the cornice. Living in a block of flats near Eden Park station? Then check any building rules on lifts and working hours early, and the sections will be sized for the way in. Close to Millers Pond? Keeping fitted wardrobes off the window wall keeps the room bright.

Questions we’re often asked
I live near Eden Park station. Is that in your area?
Yes. We cover all of Bromley and the rest of London. You can tell us about the room on our contact form to arrange a design visit, and tell us about parking and access at the same time.
Is parking a problem for fitting in Eden Park?
It can be, depending on whether your street is in a controlled parking zone. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the measuring visit.
What happens at the design visit?
We take full measurements, look at the walls and floors and work through the design together. Access and parking are worth talking about too, and afterwards we send a written quote.
Can you build wardrobes around a bed?
Yes. Storage around a bed makes good use of a wall that is often wasted and can include bedside shelves. We measure the bed and the room at the measuring visit.
Can fitted wardrobes follow a sloping ceiling?
Yes. We shape the wardrobe to follow the slope, with long hanging where there is height and shelves or drawers where it is lower. It turns tricky space into storage.
What if my bedroom floor isn’t level?
Floors in older houses are often out of level. The wardrobes are levelled on adjustable feet or a plinth.
Practical tips
New paint needs time to cure fully, so go gently with it for a while. After that, a few simple habits help:
- Mention if the wardrobe will go on an external wall
- Check your lease before fixing furniture to walls in a leasehold flat
- Empty the area where we’ll be working
- Let us know about the lift and stairs in your block
Once clothes go in and the wardrobes are in daily use, doors may settle slightly. Most hinges can be adjusted to bring a door back in line, and sliding doors can be reset on their track.
Let doors close gently rather than slamming, and keep sliding doors from crashing into the ends. It helps the hinges and runners stay true.
Honest limits
We make and fit furniture, and we don’t do electrics, plumbing, gas, plastering or structural work. There are a few other points to bear in mind:
- Painting walls and ceilings, or repairing plaster
- Structural changes to the room
- Moving switches or sockets, which needs an electrician
