Walk-in wardrobes in Bromley
Bedroom storage in Bromley
In the streets around Bromley, the largest groups of homes date from before 1919 (about 37%) and between 1945 and 1972 (about 23%), going by the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax figures. Knowing roughly when a home was built helps, because walls and fixings change from one era to the next. 6 conservation areas have at least part of their area within a mile of central Bromley. Historic England says England has around 10,000, and the controls mainly cover the outside of buildings. Each London borough runs its own parking controls, and the rest of London is no exception. Where a street in Bromley is controlled, a van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension from the council. Parking near your home is worth mentioning at the design visit.
For a family home near St Mark's Church of England Primary School, hanging rails set low at first can be raised later, as children get taller. Near listed buildings like Church of St Peter and St Paul, less than half a mile north of the centre of Bromley, older homes may keep original joinery that walk-in wardrobes can be designed around. For a listed home, fixing into original features may need listed building consent.
Bromley is in the London Borough of Bromley, about 4 miles east of Orpington. Anywhere in Bromley, it works the same way: we visit and measure, send a quote in writing, make the furniture in our workshop and fit it. We cover places right across the rest of London.
We cover every part of BR2, BR1, BR6 and BR5. Streets in the area include High Street, Church Road and St Paul's Square, and we cover homes on all of them for walk-in wardrobes. The A222 and A223 runs close to Bromley, so if your home is on a main road, mention it when you contact us. If you’re just outside Bromley, we also cover Sundridge (1 mile north-east), Plaistow (1 mile north), Bickley (1 mile east), Widmore (1 mile east) and Downham (2 miles north). We also make walk-in wardrobes in nearby places like Orpington (4 miles east), Beckenham (2 miles west), St Mary Cray (4 miles east), Chislehurst (2 miles north-east), Penge (3 miles west) and Anerley (4 miles west).

Our area takes in the homes around Holy Trinity College Bromley, The Richmal Crompton pub and Bullers Wood School for Boys. There’s a railway station in Bromley itself: Bromley South station. Other landmarks nearby include Bethlem Museum of the Mind (1.6 miles south-east) and Bromley Hospital (under half a mile south-east).
Walk-in wardrobes in Bromley
A walk-in wardrobe gives your clothes a room of their own. We build them in spare rooms, box rooms and corners of bedrooms, fitted out with hanging, shelves and drawers. We make it all in our workshop and fit it in your home, so it follows the walls and sits level. If your home has setting aside a corner of a large bedroom and shelves for shoes and bags, walk-in wardrobes made from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, finished by spray or by hand can solve it.
If your bedroom is in a period house, expect uneven walls and tall ceilings; in a newer flat, expect plasterboard and a lower ceiling. Your home in Bromley could be either, or something in between. We scribe, level and fix to suit whichever you have. The height of the room decides how tall the pieces can be.
The written quote puts the design visit in writing: the layout, what goes inside, the materials used and the finish. If you’d like to change anything, it’s easier before the furniture is made.

FAQs: walk-in wardrobes in Bromley
My home in Bromley is a flat. How do you get the furniture in?
We measure the route in as well as the room: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. Walk-in wardrobes are built in our workshop in sections sized to fit that route, then assembled in your flat. It is useful to check any building rules and your lease before fitting day.
Do you cover homes near Bromley South station?
Yes. We cover the whole of London. To get started, you can use our contact form with a few details about the room.
How long will the walk-in wardrobe take to fit?
How long the fitting takes depends on the room and how much is fitted into it, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. We’ll talk it through at the design visit.
Do I choose the paint colour?
You choose it. We agree the colour with you.
My walls are not straight. Is that a problem?
That is normal in older homes, and it is what scribing is for. Edges are scribed to the wall, and adjustable feet or a plinth bring the furniture up to level.
Can you build a dressing area in my bedroom?
Yes. A run of units can define a dressing area, and we fit the furniture once any building work is done.
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
A confident DIYer can manage simple shelves or a standard wardrobe in a square room. It gets harder with sloping ceilings, out-of-level floors and lath-and-plaster walls, because scribing and the right fixings start to matter.
Where bespoke earns its keep is in rooms that aren’t square. In period homes, walls lean, floors slope and the alcoves on each side are often different widths, and standard units leave gaps.
What happens on fitting day
Every fitting follows the same order: we protect the floors, bring the sections in, set them level, scribe them to the walls, fix them and finish them. At the end, we tidy up and go over the work with you. How long fitting takes depends on the room and how much is fitted into it, and your quote sets out the fitting days. It’s useful to clear the room and the route in before fitting day, including pictures on nearby walls. Floors and doorways are protected before anything comes in. Sections are then carried in and assembled.

Advice
What else we make in Bromley
How we price walk-in wardrobes
What you pay depends on:
- Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside
- Whether you choose a spray or hand-painted finish
- Stairs, lifts and the route to the room
- How square the room is
The inside of the furniture affects the price as well: drawers take more making than shelves, and each rail, divider or pull-out adds to the work. At the design visit, we work out what you need inside.
Helping us understand the room
When you contact us, these help most:
- Your postcode and the borough
- Rough measurements, even if they’re only to the nearest few centimetres
- What you’d like to store or use the space for
- Examples of the look you’re after
For a quote for walk-in wardrobes in Bromley, send us a few details through our contact form. Tell us which room it is and roughly what you have in mind. We’ll arrange a design visit, then send a written quote.
Honest limits
It’s worth being clear about where our work stops:
- Painting the walls of the room
- Damp treatment or repairs
- New lights or sockets
If in doubt, you can message us from the contact page and describe the room before you arrange a visit. How a job runs, step by step.

The problems walk-in wardrobes solve
Others want to clear the bedroom of wardrobes. With clothes in a dressing room, the bedroom can feel more restful.
These come up often when people first get in touch:
- A calmer, clearer bedroom
- A built-in dressing table
- Room for two wardrobes in one space
- More space for clothes and shoes
If you live near Church House Gardens, keeping walk-in wardrobes off the window wall keeps the room bright.
