- A central island in a larger kitchen
- A larder for food and small appliances
Bespoke kitchens designed for your room
How we price bespoke kitchens
Not every room costs the same, and it comes down to:
- Parking near your home
- Hanging rails, shelves, drawers and other fittings inside
- The finish: spray painted or hand painted
- How big the furniture is
Awkward rooms take more time: walls that lean, floors that slope and sloping ceilings all mean more scribing and cutting. That’s reflected in the quote, which we write after seeing the room.
Getting in touch
Here’s what helps us most when you contact us:
- What the furniture needs to hold
- What kind of home it is, and which floor the room is on
- Rough measurements, even if they’re only to the nearest few centimetres
- Your postcode and the borough
A quote begins with some details from you: the room, rough measurements and some photos if you have them. When you are ready, use our contact form. We will then arrange a design visit and follow it with a quote in writing.
Bespoke kitchens in Ealing
An island can be a good addition where there’s space for one. We check there’s comfortable space on every side, because a cramped island makes a kitchen harder to work in. Where space is tight, a peninsula or a longer run may suit better. If you’re living with a larder for food and small appliances and an island where space allows, kitchens made from birch plywood and moisture-resistant MDF with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish can solve it.
In a period terrace, the front door, hall and any turn into the kitchen limit the size of each piece. A large share of the homes around Ealing date from before 1919, so we measure the route to the kitchen not just the room. Long runs arrive in sections and are joined in place.
If the job needs another trade, such as an electrician or a plumber, we’ll tell you. Our quote covers the carpentry: the design, the materials and the finish.

More for homes in Ealing
Bespoke or off-the-shelf?
Shop-bought shelves can sag over a long span. How much a shelf bends depends on its span, depth and load, and long runs need a thicker shelf, a lip along the front or a support. We design shelves with that in mind.
Bespoke work comes into its own in rooms that aren’t square. In period homes, walls lean, floors slope and the alcoves on each side are often different widths.
Kitchens in Ealing homes
Homes built before 1919 make up about 56% of the housing in the area around Ealing, with about 19% built since 2000, on the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures for 2025. Each era brings its own kind of wall, ceiling height and floor, so it shapes the design from the first measurement. Within a mile of the centre of Ealing, 10 conservation areas are recorded by Historic England. England has around 10,000 in all, and their controls are mostly concerned with the outside of buildings. TfL’s Ultra Low Emission Zone covers every part of London, the rest of London included. It applies to the vans that deliver and fit furniture in Ealing, as it does anywhere else in London. How the van gets to your door is planned at the design visit.
Close to Walpole Park? A tall cupboard for outdoor things can be part of the kitchen design. The wider area includes historic houses like Pitzhanger Manor, about 0.1 miles east. For a period home anywhere nearby, cabinets will be scribed to walls and floors that are rarely true.
Ealing is one of London’s 33 local authority areas. Whether your home in Ealing is a terraced house, a flat or a newer build, the furniture is designed around the room as we find it. Our work takes in places right across the rest of London.
We work across W5, W13, W3 and NW10 for bespoke kitchens. We cover homes on streets such as High Street, Coleridge Square and Station Road, along with the roads around them, whether you want bespoke kitchens or another piece made for the room. Ealing sits close to the A40 and B452. If your home is on one of them, tell us during the design visit, as some main roads have strict stopping rules. Neighbouring places we cover for bespoke kitchens include South Ealing (1 mile south), Pitshanger (1 mile north), Brentham Garden Suburb (1 mile north), Hanwell (1 mile west) and West Ealing (1 mile west). We also make bespoke kitchens in nearby places like Acton (2 miles east), Southall (3 miles west), Greenford (3 miles north-west), Northolt (4 miles north-west), Acton Green (2 miles east) and Bedford Park (2 miles east).

Common questions about bespoke kitchens
How do you fit bespoke kitchens in a flat in Ealing?
We measure the route in as well as the room: the stairs, landings, lift and doors. The furniture is made in sections that fit the stairs and lift, and put together in the room. If your building has rules on lift booking or working hours, or your lease needs consent for alterations, it’s worth checking those early.
Will a conservation area stop me having bespoke kitchens fitted in Ealing?
Not normally. Conservation area controls are mostly concerned with the outside of buildings, so fitted furniture inside a house doesn’t normally need planning permission. If your home is listed, internal works that affect its character can need listed building consent, so check with the council first. The council’s planning or conservation team can tell you if in doubt.
Who chooses the colour?
You choose it. The paint colour is agreed with you, and it’s set out in the quote.
Do pictures help?
Yes, they help. Pictures of the whole wall or room, including the floor and ceiling, give us a good idea of the space. You can send them when you tell us about the room on our contact form.
Do I need to be at home on fitting day?
We need access, so someone has to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.
Can you fit a kitchen in a room with uneven walls?
Yes. We scribe each cabinet to the wall and set it level on adjustable feet or a plinth, to give a level line for the worktop. It is one of the main reasons people choose bespoke in an older house.
What happens on fitting day
However carefully a piece is made in the workshop, it still has to meet the room, and fitting day is where that happens. Walls in older homes are rarely flat or square, so we scribe the edges by hand to follow the wall, closing the gaps a standard unit would leave. How long the fitting itself takes depends on the size of the kitchen and the design, and we confirm the fitting days in your quote. Parking on terraced streets can be tight, particularly in a controlled parking zone, so it is useful to tell us at the measuring visit what’s outside. The van is unloaded quickly, with the sections carried straight in. Saturdays are possible by prior arrangement.
- You tell us about the room and how you use it.
- At the design visit we measure the walls, floor and ceiling and plan the layout. We note where the water, gas and sockets are now.
- A quote follows, covering the design and finish, ready for you to check.
- The cabinets, doors and drawer fronts are made in our workshop.
- We fit the cabinets in your home; plumbing, gas and electrics are done by your plumber, an engineer on the Gas Safe Register and your electrician.
Before fitting day
- Make sure pets are kept safely away
- Arrange any electrical changes with your electrician beforehand
- Point out meters, boilers and fuse boards near the furniture
Arranging a design visit
Photos help us understand the room before we visit. A few pictures showing the walls, the corners and where the ceiling meets them tell us a lot about the space, particularly with rough sizes. To share them, drop us a line using the contact form, and we’ll suggest a time for a design visit.

Looking after your furniture
New paint needs time to cure fully, so go gently with it for a while. Beyond that, these tips help:
- Wipe up spills promptly
- Know your appliance sizes early
- Think about how you cook and what you store
- Let us know about parking during the design visit
If a hand-painted door gets a chip, it can be touched in. A spray finish gives a smooth, even surface that wipes clean. It is worth keeping a record of the colours used.
Line up your other trades in good time. The pipes, cables and gas supply need to suit the layout, so it helps if everyone knows the plan.
Do you need bespoke kitchens in Ealing?
An extension or a knocked-through room is a common starting point. A new layout deserves a kitchen designed for it. The building work itself is for your builder.
Here’s what bespoke kitchens can help with:
- A kitchen that fits an uneven room
- A pantry cupboard with shelves and drawers
- A painted kitchen in a colour you choose
- A dresser that suits a period house
If your home is one of the older houses near St Saviour's Church, cabinets will be scribed to walls and floors that are rarely true.
