Bespoke kitchens in Holland Park: what you get
Some kitchens suit a dresser, with cupboards below and open shelves above, and in a period house it can look as if it has always been there. Each dresser is made for its wall and finished to match the rest of the kitchen. If your home has a larder for food and small appliances and making the most of a galley kitchen, kitchens made from moisture-resistant MDF and strong birch plywood, with a painted finish can solve it.
Ceilings in homes built before 1919 are often tall, and a large share of the homes around Holland Park date from then. That suits tall larder cupboards and wall cabinets taken up to the ceiling. Cabinets are made from moisture-resistant MDF or birch plywood, with the finish agreed in your quote.
The quote comes in writing, so there is time to read it properly and share it with anyone else involved. It covers the design, materials and finish agreed at the visit.

Your questions about bespoke kitchens in Holland Park
Can you make bespoke kitchens for a home in Holland Park?
Yes. Holland Park is one of the places we work, along with the rest of Kensington and Chelsea and London. To get started, you can message us from the contact page with some details.
Will parking be an issue for fitting furniture in Holland Park?
It can be, as controlled parking zones cover much of inner London. Depending on the street, a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension through the council may be needed, and suspensions often need notice. Let us know what parking is near you at the measuring visit.
What are your kitchens made from?
MDF for smooth painted parts and birch plywood for drawer boxes and shelves. We spray paint in the workshop or hand paint, in colours you choose.
Can you build an island in my kitchen?
If the room is big enough, yes. We measure at the measuring visit to check there is room to walk round it and open doors, and suggest another layout if it would crowd the room.
What finishes do you offer?
There are two options: a spray finish from the workshop, which is smooth and even, or hand painting, which can be done in your home. The finish is agreed in your quote.
Can the fitting be on a Saturday?
Yes, Saturdays are possible by prior arrangement. Just mention it when you contact us, and we will see what we can do.

What bespoke kitchens cannot fix
It’s useful to know what’s outside our work before you plan:
- Building work, like removing walls
- Gas work, which is for a Gas Safe engineer
- New sockets or circuits
If in doubt, you can send us a few details through our contact form and describe the room. How it works.
What it’s made from
- Hand-painted finish
- Spray-painted finish
- Birch plywood
- Larders and dressers
- Moisture-resistant MDF
- Islands where space allows
Practical tips
Painted fitted furniture is easy to look after. A few things help it stay looking good:
- Think about how the cabinets will get in
- Check there is room around an island before planning one
- Tell us about parking at the design visit
- Deal with damp walls first
New paintwork takes a while to harden after fitting. Go easy on the painted surfaces at first and avoid harsh cleaners. In time, mild soapy water and a soft cloth keep them clean.
It’s useful to know which appliances you want early. Their sizes shape the cabinets, so late changes can be awkward.
Flats, blocks and rented homes
Conversions and newer flats often have stud walls rather than solid brick. Fixings are chosen to suit whatever the wall is made of, after checking the walls at the measuring visit.
If your building is on a red route or a busy main road, unloading takes some planning. TfL runs the red routes, and the stopping rules are strict, so let us know about it at the measuring visit.
How fitting works for bespoke kitchens
Fitting day follows a set order: we protect the floors, bring the sections in, set them level, scribe them to the walls, fix them and finish them. Then the room is tidied and we look over the work with you. How long fitting takes depends on the kitchen’s size and how many other trades are involved, and the fitting days are agreed in your quote. Hallways in period houses are often narrow, and the stairs turn sharply, so the furniture comes in sections sized for the route in. Floors and stair carpets are protected on the way in and out.
- It starts with a short note from you about the room.
- We visit to plan the layout and check how the cabinets will get into the room. Let us know about parking too, as a van may need a visitor permit, a paid bay or a bay suspension.
- A written quote follows, covering the cabinets, materials and finish.
- The cabinets are made in our workshop from moisture-resistant MDF and birch plywood, sized to come in through your doors.
- The cabinets are fitted in your home with a spray-painted or hand-painted finish; plumbing, gas and electrics are for your plumber, a Gas Safe engineer and your electrician.
Before fitting day
- Keep pets in another room while we work
- Clear the hallway and stairs so the sections can come through
- Take down pictures, mirrors and shelves from the wall
Getting a quote
Getting a quote starts with a few details: which room it is, rough sizes and a couple of photos if you can take them. When you are ready, message us from the contact page. We will then arrange a design visit and follow it with a written quote.

What prompts bespoke kitchens in Holland Park
Often the call comes after building work has opened up the space. A new room needs a kitchen planned for its shape and light, and building work itself is for your builder.
Requests we hear often include:

- A kitchen for a room that isn’t square
- Open shelves with cupboards below
- More storage in a small kitchen

- A quote in writing that sets out the job
Bespoke kitchens for homes in Holland Park
The biggest shares of homes in the neighbourhood around Holland Park were built before 1919 (about 69%) and between 1945 and 1972 (about 11%), based on the Valuation Office Agency’s 2025 council tax data. The age of a home tells us a lot about its walls, floors and ceilings, and so about how kitchens are fixed and fitted. Original fireplaces, shutters and panelling are worth keeping where they survive, and kitchens can be designed to work around them. About 29% of households in the area around Holland Park live in flats in converted or shared houses, in the ONS Census 2021 figures. Conversions often leave rooms in unusual shapes, with partition walls, boxed-in pipes and chimney breasts in odd places, and the way in often goes up shared stairs. If your flat is leasehold, check your lease before anything is fixed to the walls.
If your home is one of the older houses near Church of St George, cabinets will be scribed to walls and floors that are rarely true. If you live near Kensington Palace Green, a tall cupboard for outdoor things can be part of the kitchen design.
